Well the last few days have been difficult.
I had a hospital appointment where I had an MRI. I hate feeling enclosed so going into that tunnel freaks me out. I spent the day before trying (unsuccessfully) to get a bigger machine (they make them for obese people... not that I am...yet...but there is more room) Had the conventional one in the end but wasted so much time pre and post stressing so I did not strip the walls in the soon-to-be-study.
Then yesterday was the windows. Two guys taking over my home, communication issues as they had minimal English. I hate the outnumbered by strangers thing and there was that whole 'talking down to the woman' thing too. Sigh. Today I was due to meet a friend but no, I stopped and cancelled everything to breathe again.
And then I saw a neighbour a few doors down. Found out he had cancer. Sigh.
On the good side the windows are in. The front of the house looks excellent for the first time in years and years and years and when I've recovered I can start on a new project. Oh, and I will strip the walls over the weekend in the soon-to-be-study.
Hope you are all doing okay and you have navigated the changesIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Sorry to hear of your situation DIA . Hopefully all is well on the health side of things for you . It's horrible when you have to go for those type of scans . On the day I went to moorfields eye hsp in central London while nipping out of the office , I ended up going to Kingston hsp and had mri and cat scans . I unfortunately don't have a cat 🙀. It was a horrid day and 12 hrs of hell . Anyway I'll leave it there . The older we get life becomes a pita to maintain what we're used to . Glad the windows got sorted and you're thrilled with them . Your home will look much better should you decide to move on . Don't start moving stuff around till you're ready . Plenty of time . We're having a storm here on Sunday and possibly tomorrow evening as well .6

Hi DIA - sorry you've had such a stressful time. Hope the MRI result moves you forward in a good way.
The rug sounds promising. Can a friend or neighbour help put the shelf up? I agree about the importance of a good chair and making sure the table is at the right height. Have a good weekend.

Thinking of you DIA and hoping that the MRI brings clarity, in a positive way. Uncertainty is such a difficult thing to deal with. Your office vision is coming together nicely and will take shape soon.7

Hi there DIA. All sounds good. Getting the chance to post on the new forum.
If it's any consolation my friend couldn't do the MRI. Too claustrophobic. A patient of mine didn't get warned about the noise and buzzed them to stop. He didn't get a very good reception. They should've told him that despite playing music it would be noisy!!!!
Good news about the windows and the study. I long for the day. We have an extension which is currently an empty shell. The top room will eventually become a study. This will free up the space for a dining table.
All good stuff6 -
Great that you've got the windows done
Hope it's positive news for you from the MRI scan
