Then again , the size of me would probably break it if I didn't see it:o
You'll find the one that is right for you I'm sure DIA
Sounds like a good idea of having the home office . Yes, painting the room would be a good pick me up , with the blinds imho
You have new floor and a chair and desk . The only things that I could say you may need if you haven't already got it , is room for your work ( ie shelving . Box files ? ) and possibly Cheaply computer speakers if you want some sounds in the background . Maybe a framed picture or 2? I'll leave it thereGood point about the shelving now need to find someone who can do that...

Our dog is super cute. Shitzus - tend to be nice and soft to the touch despite the awful name.
I would redecorate your home office - as you say it will reduce your costs in the long term. You can still occasionally go out for coffee / to work. Just make sure you don't say the whole room is dedicated to business as it can affect your capital gains position I think...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sorry for intruding on your thread but I work from a home office. It has a stand up desk, a chair for when I have a drink, shelving and storage for papers. Equipment is computer, screen, phone, shredder and printer .
I think I've made it work for me by making it a nice bspace with artwork I love on the walls along with the obligatory notice board for reminders and stuff, but I also have a kettle and drink supplies in there. This is so once I start a work shift I can close the door and not be distracted by anything else.
Also, I can close the door on the room at the end of the working day and not have to think about it.
I hope you find a solution which works for you.
I'll go back to lurking now!Spend less now, work less later.2 -

I'll go back to lurking now!I agree I would need to make the space somewhere I like to be especially as the work I will do in there will be creative. I have an issue with mess too so using my dining table as a place to work/eat/live will be helped by zoning my activities. I like what you say about being able to shut the door of the room at the end of a working day. I'm starting to feel optimistic about this room working...

I think so too but time will tell. I bought a paint roller today. I've decided to definitely try and decorate the room myself.

Sounding positive DIA .
Regarding shelves if you need them . There is cube like storage which could save drilling in walls etc . May be easier , and less hassle .
Just a thought ..2 -

I am AF this month. I wouldn’t say I was a big drinker but I noticed my intake was creeping up. It does sometimes. Anyway I am on day 3. It is cold and wet and a glass of red would be nice but it isn’t happening so a pot of tea will have to do.
I went to the Swedish store. I avoided food in the restaurant as the breakfast items looked unhealthy. I stuck to coffee. I usually buy cake and crisps and some frozen salmon in the shop. The fish is healthy but I thought I’d avoid it just in case of temptation.
I stopped in the supermarket and bought dark chocolate, and tortilla chips instead of crisps, although tortilla chips are only marginally better! I also bought fruit and raw nuts. In future I will not even enter the crisp aisles as I have no business there
I am gearing up for returning to healthier eating.
At the Swedish store I bought a rug for the soon-to-be-study.
I found the wall paper stripper and stripping the soon-to-be-study tomorrow.
Wishing you all a relaxing eveningIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
