So the big energy bill has been paid. :T
Something not 100% perfect has been returned.:money:
I found out I didn’t get something I applied for. It was a big one, so despite being successful with a large bursary earlier in the month, I feel disappointed. This is the life I have chosen so I need to get over it real fast look for and apply for a new opportunity...
The silver-lining about not getting the thing I applied for (always searching for this) is I won’t be away for several months so next week I will go to the dog shelter to begin the search for a dog.
In January I tried to do 20 days no spend. I will achieve half of that. Not so great but I have had an undisciplined month.I will try again in February.
I found a box fit class for tomorrow evening. My knee is still a bit rubbish but I’ll be going anyway.
I slept badly last night. In the end I got up and did dishes, recycling and laundry. I went back to bed and woke up at 9.30.
I bought a book in Oxfam. Trying not to bring new books into the home so failed on that one.
I hope the day has been kind to you allIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Belated congrats on your bursary!:j
It's good that you've turned the disappointment of your application into a positive by searching for a dog. A couple of my DD's friends have taken in street dogs from Romania. They all tend to be cute and hairy although one was very old and had been especially badly treated. The last time I saw him he looked so contented, although very creaky poor old thing!
Well done on the energy bill!:j

Hoe's the window / kitchen/ squirrel situation ?You are right to remind me about the house. I have relaxed these past few weeks it has to be said
So, the squirrels are unresolved but being kept under control with ammonia (they hate the smell) however they keep popping back and I haven't found/looked for a new tradesmen for the fascias after the last disappointing[STRIKE]conman[/STRIKE] tradesman.
Kitchen? No progress and stuck as to what I want to do. I have a good fitter but no quote yet and want to keep it very, very basic...
Windows? You must be psychic as the company phoned and they are going in next week :jIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I can see a frittering pattern happening by going to have a coffee in an area I like.
Fares, a coffee, a sweet treat and I have spent £10 and that is without the impulse buys that invariably happen. The odd bottle of wine is finding my way into my haphazard shops too. This little habit is probably costing me £100 a month and maybe more?
If I was working hard I would not have time for shopping and coffees! And the little top up shops are due to not driving so I need to go back to regular online shops. Hmmm…
I choose not to do all this unconscious frittering. So February will be AF and I am buying a cup to maximise free coffees, will be walking to another area (that I like a little less) to save on fares and I’ll be taking a treat with me. I fall into wasteful ways so easily. It is scary. Like there is an inner Imelda Marcos ready to jump out and sabotage my plans.
A call to say the window installation will happen next week. I am really looking forward to this being done. :j
Dishes X1, X1, X1, X1 (Kitchen cleaned too)
Washing done (the last of the washing mountain) I feel better now I am not surrounded by dirty clothes!
Made a pot of soup (yum)
