@another_casualty You are right, I need to pace myself, but my energy is high at the moment so taking advantage of itIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

A good thing about going away is reviewing habits:
I used a cheaper brand of milk when I was away. It was fine so swapping my own to save £2.15 a week
I used a brand of halloumi that I thought I couldn’t tolerate, but it was fine, so swapping to save another £2 a week.
I walked 3 miles today looking for eggs. I found them at Mr M on my way home. The other shops had huge queues outside. The odd online shop, then shopping small and local should be fine for me. I am lucky, I have enough.
I topped up my phone credit. Usually I would stop for a coffee but I did not, although I could see people sitting in to enjoy coffee.
I can’t find baked beans anywhere. I do however have a recipe and some cannellini beans so I will be making my own today.
Also making lentil and courgette soup and pot roasting a turkey breast with root veggies. Lots of good quality protein I can turn into other meals for a while.
MY FROG will be phoning my BB provider as they are currently overcharging me.
I will be doing 4 hours of work today
On the drudge front I cleaned the patio doors, litter picked the front of the house, sorted bins and recycling, cleaned the loo and I should finish the day on a clean kitchen. Not bad.
I am so thankful I had my lightbulb moment and got debt free or this current situation would be terrifying for me.
I want to keep active and structured with my days to avoid my mood slipping. I hope you are all managing well and taking care.

You are still doing great DIA 😼
I went to Aldi , and found there was Lidl so came out with nothing .(sorry😼)
I was in 2 minds whether to go for a coffee today . I may look tomorrow and see how the land lies . I don't know who you are with on your broadband . Is it separate from a tv package ? Seems like you should tell them you're leaving , and if you don't get through on the phone perhaps try their live chat?
I'm with Vodafone , and have their broadband . I changed my phone to sim only a few months back . They aren't too bad , but it's horses for courses etc 🐺 I'm also on freeesat .
Keep on enjoying your day ..5 -
Great to hear you enjoyed your break even if it was cut short . You have something to look forward to later in the year.Long may your positivity last.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.5

My budgeting (never on point but I was having a go) has gone out of the window now. I am buying what I can, when I see it. I hope not having coffees outside, or snacks, not travelling, and paying fares will even out the spending.
Today I went out as soon as the shops opened. It’s a lovely day. I saw Bluetits and the streets were clean and calm (and I live in a city)
I kept a good distance from everyone. I needed fruit, loo roll, kitchen roll, a newspaper, meat, almond milk, (the one I swapped to gave me nausea)
I only bought a newspaper from the original list. But I found baked beans! What joy! Been looking for those since I came back and none online. Also bought oatcakes and dark chocolate. I’m happy with that
I’m making soup again today with the turkey carcass and I have enough for several days now so hopefully the NSDs will balance the budget out.
The plan today includes:
Gardening
Finding the wallpaper stripper
Work
Sorting out BB (STILL NOT DONE)
Wishing you all a good day

You're still in fine form DIA , great to see😼
if you're doing the wall paper stripping yourself , I'd look at Homebase / b&q / Argos
years ago I got a cheap steamy one from Argos, and a scraper and found it therapeutic .
This was in the days of buying from store and not online .As for the broadband co. If you mention who they are, one of us could hopefully point in the right direction .Anyway, you're probably in the garden doing your business, and it's the right weather for it 🌷🐿 have a good weekend ..6 -
I'm with you on buying food while it's there. At Mr A's today there was plenty of food - there was stuff they didn't have but most of the shelves were full. I also bought some colouring stuff to send my nephews through the post to cheer them up. Not an easy time for anyone.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
