You're doing the right things DIA. Pace yourself, stop and rest and don't rush into anything. Use the time to work out what you want and wait for it to come along.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6

I'm sorry about your relative DIA. Make sure you don't over stretch yourself and affect your own physical and mental health. As you know, making time for healthy eating and daily walks is essential for you to feel energetic and cheerful.
I think it's a good idea to widen your search area. The house that is right for you will appear, you just need to be patient. That said, small compromises are sometimes required but don't compromise on the important things (like a garden). Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

In particular I've struggled with spreading myself too thin and not healthy eating and exercising, but I know what I need to do so will prioritise both things. All good advice and yes, a garden will be lovely in the new home
So, my relative had an operation that was deemed very risky on Easter Sunday. She survived, but has lost a limb. We are all grateful to the NHS for her survival but sad that she has suffered in this way.
Over the past few weeks I have felt overwhelmed but I am starting to get things done in the flat as this will help. There was a problem with the electrics that I fixed yesterday and I feel much better for it. Apparently it wasn't dangerous but the it added to my anxiety so I am glad it is done. I arranged for the washing machine to be disconnected next week so another thing off the list as it leaks and it seems to be collecting dirty water from somewhere! Pest control have been contacted but have not yet been.
I nearly moved out to stay with a friend but decided to stay and sort things out. It won't be forever and I will find a home eventually. Bad as it seems to me right now, I am actually very lucky.
House wise? I have a viewing today that I will cancel. A few possibilities so one day next week I will arrange a few visits. My friend who usually comes with me has had an op on her foot. (It feels like everyone around me is injured in some way!)
I can't work from here as there isn't a desk. The way I use the laptop is an invitation for new arm and back issues! Will be scouring the CSs when they open to see if I can get something.
Also thinking of booking a cheap advanced ticket somewhere reasonably far (first class) and working on a train
MSE wise?
I sorted the issue with my PBs
I miss my old soup maker. Instead of replacing it I've ordered one of those slow cooker/soup maker/pressure cooker/ saute electric pot things. I pick it up next week. It isn't cheap but on the long run it should save me money and time too and contribute to my healthy eating too.
Today the plan is laundrette (how retro) hospital visit and a few hours concentrating on my work.
I'm feeling a bit less overwhelmed and I am in problem solving mode at last
I hope everyone is ok.

yay - way to go. I had a friend years ago who was very much larger than life in all dimensions - ended up with complications of diabetes and had to have both legs off (quite apt as he was legless most of the time I knew him) - although that was terrible, he looks back and says it was the best thing for his overall health - so I hope you can reassure your relative its not the end of the world, but will be hard work getting back to "normal"
plus - good work on the desk and the soup - all essential spendsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine7 -
Thanks @mark55man
The amputation is the least of the health issues and isn't connected to weight/diabetes. She is not expected to 'get back to normal,' but we hope she will adjust to this new development.
I agree the desk and the multi cooker are indeed essential spendsIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Sorry to hear about everything that's been going on DIA .
you are showing great strength and tenacity , and are coping with everything extremely well.
Hopefully the pest control people will be in touch sooner rather than later, and you can have a more settled form of relaxation in your present home .It's good that you're getting the washing machine disconnected .When you do start viewing properties again , you'll obviously discuss with your local friend and people local to whatever you decide . You could send them links from right move etc and get their opinions should you have trouble deciding and hopefully be accompanied for 2nd viewings
Hope that makes sense .
I hope that you find the proper desk for your needs . Don't forget to have a coffee or chocolate when you feel like it !Hope things improveI'll leave it there ..5 -
Thanks AC for your kind comments and vote of confidence in my abilities! I will keep plugging away and will get there in the end.
Exactly what you have said re R1ghtmove I've been doing and I've found the feedback useful and it sometimes saves me a tripYes, I can save second viewings for taking someone with me. I think one friend likes to come because she like to nosey about in people's home!
Your idea is a good one but I do not have TV here. But that is ok as I don't miss it. Hope your relative recovers and adjusts well.
Keep an eye on g-tree and other local selling sites, someone may be giving away / selling a suitable table.
Good luck with house hunting, the perfect one is waiting for you and will pop up.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5
