Sorry to hear about your relatives struggles, and the mouse situation 🐀
I know what you mean about the Royal Mail. Hopefully once your friend has had a kind word with the postman it will be sorted .Yes, you have been overdoing things , but you seem to have realised that you can step back from things and relax a bit .Hope the weekend is good ..⛈6 -

Thanks @ beanielou, @MovingForwards, @another_casualty and @savingholmes.
My spate of horribleness continues as my new mobile dropped today and the screen is cracked. I'm not surprised as there are no clear surfaces so I am working in the kitchen and there is no table/desk in the house so I am perched. But it's done now, so I need to stop the blame game and search for solutions. I called JL who were unable to help even if I paid for the repair within a reasonable timeframe. I've posted on the mobiles section of the forum and texted a few 'youngsters' for advice. In the meantime it is back to the Nokia that has never let me down and I love it for that!
In better news the bloodshot eye is healing and I no longer feel nausea or have a headache.
My relative is still very poorly.
I decided to try and get away so I called the fellowship that is due to take place before 2022. I told them I was ready and would like to be included in the first of the fellows. They got straight back and it looks like I might be there (fingers crossed re lockdowns/the virus) for the whole of July so I am glad I contacted them
I called somewhere I know to see if I can use their cottage in the country for a few weeks but there was a burst pipe so repairs are being done.
@redofromstart there is talk of spas. What I wouldn't give to go off to a sap as feeling worn out.
On the positive side I sorted my energy provider issue, gave readings and closed the account. I should have done this before I left but hey ho done now.
I sorted a financial issue successfully
I found out my PBs are bouncing back due to the wrong reference. So I don't actually have the savings I thought I did. No wonder I don't win anything! New passwords were issued so hopefully next week I can get this resolved too.
My accounts were rounded up and I am clear where I am financially. Despite the stress lately I have not gone overdrawn and my credit card has a zero balance. Not bad
I am going to take a case to the locked unit to store and collect post from my friend tomorrow. I've been packing it all day.
Still thinking of a way to get away for a few weeks. Watch this space
Determined to stay positive and keep perspective!

Hope you manage to have a relaxing weekend"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee6 -
Sorry to hear about phone but brill that you have a spare. Lots of positives going on - well done you. You are making lemonade from lemons at every step.
A break sounds wonderful doesn't it, environment is so important to our health and after all we only live once 😉
Amazing achievement to have no balance on the cc 🤸💃🤸💃
I know I often say it but you always do the right thing,
So have faith in that 😘💞

When places open up again find a mobile phone repair shop and ask how much it will be to replace the screen. Is it all broken or just part of it?
- most phones are still useable with a cracked screen, they just don't look pretty.
When fixed by screen protectors, they are clear plastic sticky things which can stop it happening again. Also buy a case. Normally you can buy both as a set for a couple of quid on 3bay.
PBs I do manual payments with my debit card, then I can see it's been accepted into my account and also shows on my bank app.
Good luck with the fellowship and getting away, both will do you good.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -
Sorry about your broken phone but once it's fixed buy a shock proof case for it. My DS is always dropping his phone off his bunk bed and so far it hasn't broken so his shock proof case must be good.
I think the cottage sounds idyllic with a small garden and a roof terrace.
Try not to overdo things. Just do a few things per day but don't overload yourself so you get stressed. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks everyone for the encouraging and supportive posts. I appreciate them
I would like to report that things are on the up but it wouldn't be true.
ANGST
My relative has got sicker and needs a major operation or we will lose her but she has lost her 'fight' for want of a better word. I love her dearly so I am feeling quite low but trying to keep 'up' for her sake. Too much on as my sister is on hospital duty so I help out more with the family. We are all stressed and getting on each other's nerves.
A broken washing machine and the mouse situation mean home is not a relaxing space. (laundry seems shut all the time?)
A friend back where I used to live has lost the use of an arm so I said I will do a weekly visit to help her.
Eating poorly as so much rushing about. I don't do well with an unhealthy diet. Health flare-up so in pain yesterday. I had to pick a relative up from nursery, take her to the park, make her tea and take her home flare-up or not!
Broken phone so I can't travel with it. Not yet had time to sort this.
ACTION
I'm having a 'at home' day today. A friend wanted me to come over to sit in the garden, but I said no. Staying put.
Ordering a veg box to get back to better eating. Expensive but now isn't the time to worry about that (sorry MSE folk)
Check laundry opening hours

HOUSE NEWS
I have widened my search. The widened search takes in another area (same part of England) that is less perfect but has beautiful properties that are cheaper. I saw a house but it went. Saw another but inadequate garden. Bid on the cottage but lost (it was too small with an East facing garden anyway) The widened search is a risk but life is a risk. It has beautiful coastal walks, an art's scene and independent shops and lots of lovely walking. So, no longer clear about where I will end up. I'll leave it there...
Wishing you all a lovely EasterIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Sorry to hear about relative, hopefully she will regain her fight and everything goes well. Your friend will adjust in time.
Please be very careful about spreading yourself so thin and not eating properly, you can't help others if you don't look after yourself.
The other area sounds lovely. Compromise can be beneficial if you can get a lot of what you want.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.7
