Thanks @another_casualty and @savingholmes
I agree house hunting with a friend is nicer than doing so alone. My relative is managing and thanks for asking
Thanks @MovingForwards, and @redofromstart
I am pleased with the weight loss. It's funny as I have been slowly losing weight, but it is only recently that people have begun commenting and I can see a huge difference. It is a bit scary so I am pausing to get fit and get used to this new body.
It might end up being a very tiny garden if I get the property I viewed many moons ago (it seems like) The friend who came with me is a gardener and said she could see how it might work. If I end up there I will grow fragrant things to enjoyA bigger garden would be better, but this house has other compensations and I can see myself being happy in the house for other reasons. A family friend has a saying 'What is for you, can't go past you...' I tend to agree.
I'm starting to feel a bit calmer after a walk about the Farmer's Market with a friend. I've felt stressed for a few days. I don't know if this house that came up before is on the market or off. I have put in my highest offer (£5,000 more than I offered last time) If it isn't accepted and the vendors wish to continue with their current buyers despite the disagreements I have to accept that and move on. There will be other homes I'm sure of that.
I'm also stressed because my post redirection has not turned up at the destination two weeks later...Needs chasing...
There are other niggling issues that require action. Sometimes I feel they pile up a bit and leave me feeling stressed. Financial issues and energy bills to address.
The environment needs work. I bought a steamer and set to work but it isn't a good one so it needs returning. There is a lot of stuff here so nowhere for my own things. I think I need vacuum bags for my clothes. I can do that next week. I definitely need to find somewhere to work as I have no desk. There is a chair that reclines that I cleaned that might work, just need to wait for it to dry...
So reporting in to my diary feeling a bit 'out of sorts' (as my friend says...)
Over the next few days I will make an action list and begin eating frogs. That always makes me feel better...
I hope everyone is having a good weekend

Sorry to hear you are out of sorts DIA ..
You are still adjusting to your new pattern but you still seem to be firing on all cylinders.
Maybe just take a step back for a day or 2, and write down your tasks , and getting the urgent stuff done early -midweek?Having said that , if you're friend is around then obviously be there for her and that is a stress reliever in itself .Take stock of everything , make plans but don't forget to rest .
Hope you are enjoying the weekend 😼6 -
You've just moved, stop trying to rush everything in this flat and set smaller manageable goals to do it.
With smaller gardens you grow upwards rather than spread throughout it. There's always ways to make more space and create illusions.
Hope you have a good evening.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -

SH is right, after a major sustained endeavour, you are going to be drained. when you add this to the excitement and worry of a new area in unfamiliar territory, I'm surprised (not really) you are getting anything done at all. I would just focus on setting up new rhythms, and making the space comfortable for you (even if it means putting some of the clutter in boxes while you are there.
If you can maybe tackle a few tadpoles rather than going for the toads - even in March a FEB is worth havingI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Would you be happy only having a front garden though DIA? Would it be private enough? Just food for thought. Or am I getting muddled? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks @MovingForwards I don’t think I’m trying to rush, but I am eager to get the flat how I need it to be so I am comfortable. Good idea to set smaller goals
Thanks @mark55man
) I have (albeit a bit late) come to the conclusion that I will need storage and I thought of boxes. What I decided to do instead is store my clothes. Most I won’t need, so I am packing a case that can go back into storage. I will ask a friend to give me a lift next week.
I do think I need to take action on a few things as leaving them will turn frogs into huge toads. (I’m past the tadpole stage…) I’m most concerned about my post going AWOL as that has fraud potential…
Thank you @HairyHandofDartmoor
you are right and not at all muddled. If I do get that property the challenges will be to make the front of the house private enough to have a cup of coffee without being on full view.
Thank you @savingholmes
Thanks @another_casualty. Great advice as always. I made a list today with priorities for midweek
Today, I managed a long walk and went to the bike shop. The good news is my bike can be mended for less than a third of the price of a new bike and the wait time is 4-5 weeks instead of 6 months for a new one. Really happy with that. The money I saved on not buying a new bike can pay off the credit card I partially paid for the storage costs with.
I now have a sitting space in the flat. It is a disabled chair so the back and foot part rise and fall. It will be great chair to work from!
I returned the steamer before I lost the receipt.
I made a financial call yesterday at last, but too late and I will make a financial loss! It can’t be sorted before the end of this financial year so I will lose out by my inaction. Nothing can be done so I will just put it down to experience and eat the frog faster next year!
I called my bank and set up a new SO, so I can control my discretionary spending more effectively.
I bought some calming tea in case my coffee intake is making me a bit jittery.
Happy Sunday everyone

Great news about the bike DIA 🚴🏼♂️Sorry to hear about the financial loss. You had / have so much going on that this was unfortunate . Having said that, the house is sold which was the main thing and who knows , you may pay less for a new one .I was all over the place with illness and emotion for some time after moving . I'll never forget storm Angus 🌪💨🌊☔️. I cancelled a few appointments with estate agents and they were cool about it , and I rescheduled when I could . I also viewed places and wondered, how did I ever manage to do it with the state I was in .Having said all that , I got something in the right time frame .It'll all fall into place I'm sure .After you've sorted the redirection , hopefully you can do things at your leisure.
I'll leave it there ..😺6 -
You've made amazing progress. You are away from neighbours that made it hard for you. You will find the right place. Sorry about the bill - we all have similar... if it's any consolation.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
