I’ve had lots of busy days.
The relative had issues for a while with illness and mobility so there is a great deal to sort out…and then there is finding out how the flat works and exploring the area.
Cleaning and decluttering is never ending, but today I took a day off to view some houses. A friend came and we made a day of it. We saw six properties. One was perfect almost: a sweet little cottage but just too small. Nowhere to store my bike. There is another possibility, but it might be too near a busy road for me…To complicate things, a property I bid on but lost, may come back again. I still love it as it is perfect location and property-wise. The big issue is NO GARDEN. Well, a small front garden with room for a bench…There is still time to find somewhere, so if all of today’s possibilities draw a blank, I refuse to panic.
My bike is being assessed and may be a write-off (as I suspected) My flat is up quite a few stairs and there isn’t storage room for the bike inside…If it can’t be fixed, I might wait until I move to buy another. I don’t want it to be stolen as I am in a city area where bikes are stolen.
My weight has continued to drop. I’m no longer obese but still overweight. My focus is now on having a strong, flexible body, so I am introducing yoga and some strength training until I can start swimming again. I am walking long distances without my bike.
MSE wise, I still have frogs to swallow: tomorrow…
Contact energy provider and give them my meter readings from previous address.
Chase a payment due to me.
Buy vegetables and to make soup
and buy a hand held steamer for cleaning the flat
I hope everyone is okay

Wishing your relative well , and hope things are manageable .
Well done on weight loss. It does seem the best thing to wait until you have moved into your new home , to purchase new bike 🚴🏼♂️It's good to see you have a friend that you can have with you for viewing properties .
You're off to a good start already , and hopefully you'll find the right one when the time is right .Hope you are enjoying your present surroundings 😼7 -
You won't be happy without a garden, that means a lot to you and you've realised that over the last few months.
The frogs are mere tadpoles, you can deal with them before they grow up.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.9 -
Sounds like great progress DIA. How small is small on that front garden? Big enough to enjoy but small enough to keep perfect? We went with a huge garden, which I can't manage as I would like or afford to fill. No garden at all would be a deal breaker, but tiny might be perfectly formed after all? A few plants go much further in a tiny space.
Mine smells heavenly at night currently, putting the bins out and the honeysuckles (winters beauty and fragrantisimo) smell just wonderful. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
