I know I am late to the part here but congrats on the bursary. Exciting stuff.
Well done on the weight loss too. I keep losing and gaining the same 2 lb and really want to lose 7 lb to get me to target. So difficult at this time of year when everything is cold and miserable outside.

On the books front, when I bought my current flat I ended up moving twice in the space of 6 weeks. A big box of books were deposited at the charity shop in between the two moves. Sod moving them again!
Now, if only I could bring myself to let go of my CDs and DVDs!9 -
Thanks @beanie and @savingholmes. I weighed in again but no change so I am ignoring my weight until Saturday morning when I hope the pound will be gone
Thanks @enthusiasticsaver and @ThatKiss I'm also selective with books. Constantly weeding them out is the only way I can stay on top of them!
So yesterday I braved snow and ice to buy some chocolate, so it is official. I am an addict. I bought 3 bars of 85% dark chocolate and feel better for having them in the house...
Yesterday I decided to intervene with the stuck 1948 issue that is resulting in checkmate as far as my house sale is concerned. My solicitor said the other side was behaving stupidly. He is probably correct, but if I lose a buyer the solicitor loses nothing and will still get paid. I requested he speak to the other side instead of waiting and find out the cost of the issue. The hundreds and hundreds he said they were demanding was in fact £295. I suggested we split the cost. The other side agreed! Now contracts are being prepped to exchange next week. It may have cost me an necessary £147.50. I was 80% sure they would have backed down, but when? And what if they pulled out? House prices are beginning to drop slightly according to the Halif*x and I could not face going back on the market again. It is worth the money to me to proceed quickly.
Good chat with a friend.
My boxes have arrived so tomorrow I can do some more packing.
Hope everyone is ok.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Brilliant news DIA 😼
Youve done the right thing , and the finishing line is nearer . At the end of the day , I'd treat the £147.50 as just another cost and in the end 🤞you have a smooth transaction and everyone is happy .Great news about the chocolate too ..🍫 😺7 -

You're edging closer to the end result and it's probably saved money going halves.
Good luck with the packing and enjoy the chocolate 😁

Brilliant DIA, the buyer was probably wondering why they were refusing to discuss the issue and worrying that it was bigger than it appeared! And you've shown that you will act reasonably so hopefully increase their faith in the sale.
