Forging_Ahead said:Back in June, I had 9 viewings booked in for the first full day my property was on the market, and by teatime I had an offer for the full asking price. I finally nursed that sale through to completion about three weeks ago. Now I'm buying a new house in a new town. It's a painful and frustrating process, especially with all the virus disruption, but I've got my fingers crossed for you and hope things run smoothly for you!
Today I was up early to get the house ready. Up at 6.30! Note to self. Don’t leave anything until the last minute. I woke with a migraine so really should have not taken that chance. Still feeling sick but hey ho got it all done.Rain is here. Wind and rain. It was dry for the first hour but awful now.
There have been 11 viewings, all over for now. Thank god. I hope a few offers come up as a result as I really can’t bear to go through this again.
Definitely a gentle day for me. Soup, radio, a walk to buy a paper if the rain ever stops. A hot water bottle. In fact a very middle-aged afternoon planned. I might even search out a lap blanket and a book. Ha!
I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Just caught up with your diary - congratulations on the fellowship - it's sounds wonderful. 😀
I also love your decluttering mantra of 'do I want to take this with me'. Very sensible!
Fingers crossed tightly from me on receiving some new offers!🤞

Hope you get some offers xx"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

I hope you get some offers from your open day DIA. You've done wonders with de-cluttering and improvement works
. Will the new lock down affect your plans?
By the way, I wouldn't consider a house without a garden, especially with this virus around and who knows how many lockdowns ahead. Also a shared freehold sounds a bit dodgy to me. Just my opinion as I'm a very cautious person. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks @HairyHandofDartmoor You are right about a garden. I will be searching for a house with some outside space (but not a big garden again.) I don't enjoy the constant work to be honest, but like garden pottering and having somewhere to relax in. I agree about the shared freehold although I don't think it is dodgy just too many variables for me.
All the fingers crossed and positive vibes from all of you worked! I had four offers, all at, or over, the (newly increased) asking price. The EA thinks a few more offers may follow but one offer bought all his paperwork in today, is renting in the area and is a FTB so no chain. It bodes well? I am very pleased that my efforts paid off. Who knows where it goes from here but it is a good start.
