Thanks @another_casualty. You were right the mortgage was waiting to be approved...
Thanks @Seasidegal58, @RosaBernicia, and @beanielou my relative continues to put up a good fight. We were warned she was at end of life a few months back but she told her mum not to believe the doctor's she was dying just yet. And she hasn't!
Thanks for endorsing the plan to take friends to viewings tooBack after a few days of caring duties. My relative was in low spirits (not surprisingly, but depressing all the same) Always nice to be home.
The sheepskin slippers came and were disappointing. I was determined to get them to the PO so the money can be back in my account asap. Especially as I ordered another pair from a different company. The new ones are even pricer but what I wanted all along! It is raining hard so the returns label got wet as I cycled there. In the end I had to pay to return as the label would not scan. Another £3.30 wasted!
I also cycled to the EA (after leaving 2 messages). They now know I won’t be fobbed off. I have been given a named person’s direct mobile and he understands I need regular updates. I hadn’t heard ANYTHING since the offer was accepted. Apparently the buyer had a mortgage in principal, but the good news is his mortgage has been agreed. This explains why a survey has not been requested.
A lazy evening beckons…
I hope the weather is less wet and gloomy where you are

I came back from caring duty yesterday. I had a migraine when caring and surprised myself by still managing to shop and cook and do what I needed to do for her! I can still feel the after effects of the migraine so I am extra tired. I came home to a tidysh home with food in the fridge. Must remember the difference it makes and do this more often.
ACTION FOR TODAY: I have a packaged account and need to downgrade it as the travel insurance and car break down are no longer relevant so it doesn’t make sense. I went to the bank and was told to phone a number. (Yes, thanks for that.) Will do it today as there is a saving to be had.
I got to the stage where one sofa is blocking my hallway and I can barely get through the front door. I wanted to move the remaining sofa into another room and it got wedged in the doorway! There 2 days! Yesterday I finally managed to move the other sofa and can now sit somewhere and relax! A huge plant moved. Will tackle a chest today and then my dining room and living room are sorted. Now it is just the cleaning…
BHF should remove the sofa in the hallway tomorrow. YAY!
ACTION FOR TODAY: I need to get in the loft so will ask my neighbour for a ladder and see if I can find something I need without falling through the ceiling or coming face to face with a squirrel
No new news on the house.
ACTION FOR TODAY: Finding all the warranties for the windows and the boiler for the solicitor
The friend who asked to come along to viewings dropped out so I will be doing them solo later in the week. Partly why I choose to get on and do what I need to by myself is because of exactly that scenario. I wouldn’t mind but she invited herself and still let me down.
I made some soup yesterday. It is lovely. Today, I am cooking some slow cooked lamb with Ethiopian spicing and robust veggies.
Has anyone ever picked up the Lidl veg box? It can be hit and miss, but always useful. I got a great one this week. I’m going to buy this more often as it is a terrific bargain at £1.50. I now have lots of soup, salads and roasted veggies I can make from just the one box.
Off to make a TO DO list, and menu plan so I use up what I have.
Rain coming here.
Wishing you all a positive day

when the going get tough, DIA gets going
good luck with all your tasks and plansI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks @mark55man. Once again my optimism got the better of me and all of the ACTIONED tasks still remain. I got sidetracked looking for houses to visit on my trip to the new place. So far I have 4 houses to see.
One of the houses that just came up is a cottage 3 miles away from the place I want to live. I have just wasted time daydreaming, but I won't view as it doesn't meet my needs re location.
I found another house, massively over budget. I contemplated a P/T job or a lodger, but a good friend reminded me it wouldn't be the dream house if I had someone annoying living in it, or I had to do an equally annoying job just to afford it! So true!
The new slippers are here and it is a big thumbs up from me. (wish I had that emoji) The moral of the story? Always go for what you want and don't compromise.
BHF came and took the sofa, so the house has more room to breathe, and I can get in the front door!
Today I will work on yesterday's ACTION list.
I would love to go for a walk but it hasn't stopped raining all day. Fingers crossed it will stop soon.

You have enough to be getting on with DIA , but don't try to cram everything as fast as possible , or you could end up out of sorts and be feeling irritable when things don't Seem to go to plan .I would steer clear of lodgers , also .You have great organisation so far , and a chance not to have a lodger or a part time job. That's the angle I'd go for .Horses for courses etc🐺
You have a great chance to wind down .Hope the viewings go well ..7
