I'm going a bit stir crazy already. Last night I got really bored when my husband left for work even though that would have just been normal really.
I really feel sorry for people who are completely self-isolating. I was thinking if the weather heats up that is going to be a problem. I wouldn't like to be completely stuck indoors in hot weather without an electric fan. It is okay for people with gardens but what about people in tiny flats.
I am going to have a bubble bath and then go for a walk. It is beautiful weather and I will just keep my distance from people. I will go past the shops and if they (hopefully) aren't too busy I will duck in quickly to get a few things. I have put on makeup today as I have been using less and less the last few days.
I realised that I only have one bottle of face wash and about 10 jars of moisturiser! Stupid!Someone on another thread said instead of using face wash to use a flannel with warm water. I have cut up an old hand towel and I'm rubbing some almond oil into my face and then rinsing it off with the flannel. It seems to be working quite well.
I am going to do my clay powder face mask and use my foot spa tonight.5 -
At least you're well stocked with moisturiser Wednesday. I always cleanse with a hot cloth but I do use a Clinique face wash first. My skin is quite dry at the moment. I think it's because I've been using serum instead of the oil that my skin was loving and going out in the air every day. I'm going back to oil tomorrow. As things stand, I could get possibly any products I needed from Boots as, being a pharmacy, they are still open or get stuff delivered but not sure how long that option will last.
Sadly, the National Trust has had to close its grounds and gardens. I can see why though. Yesterday we went to another part of the New Forest. The car park was absolutely packed. There was an ice cream van doing a roaring trade but with queues of people all packed together. Then there was a group having a picnic/barbecue and they were sitting quite close round a picnic table. I'd have said, looking at them, that they weren't a family group that normally lived together. We just left the car and set off into the woods which was fine and the people we did meet didn't come close. It seems that with the good weather people have been going out in their masses but not keeping at safe distances.
My DD1 came round earlier with a card and flowers. We sat out in the garden the requisite 2m apart! DD2 sent me a gift. It was a range of travel size L'Occitane products. They're lovely but who knows when I'll get a chance to travel anywhere!!:)
I don't think a small bottle of Prosecco would be enough for me LL. Mine's full size.;) Tomorrow I'm going back on the wagon (I try not to drink midweek unless it's a special occasion) but it is tempting to wile away the evenings with a drink. We're having a nice roast later. I'm trying to keep everything as normal as possible.
Still no word from sugarbaby. I keep hoping there'll be a message when I log on. Keep safe all.:)

😂🤣. Well yes self isolation for solos really does mean isolation......solitary confinement, in fact 😱😂.Can I do 12 weeks solitary. It's a challenge sure enough but I tell myself it will be worth it, protecting my son with asthma and my pregnant Dil, as well as myself of course.3 months out of a lifetime Is nothing, especially if it gives me another 30 years.
At least we have technology to help us stay in touch. A I am so lucky, I have a garden and plenty of space in my home. A bedsit or small flat would be quite claustrophobic I imagine.DIL has just paid for a private scan because the NHS couldn't guarantee couldn't one in a timely fashion. She is now around 9 weeks and all is well.Beautiful day here, spent quite a bit of time in the garden. Sore and stiff now......🤣.Maman I often order my lotions and potions from Amazon....I've just ordered some vitamin C serum..like you my skin feels dry so I thought I'd give it a boost.4 -
Ha ha....30 years is maybe a tad optimistic, I'll settle for 20. 😉3 -
LL 12 weeks is indeed a long time, but the way we're going, I think we're going to be in the midst of this for months n months. People are ignoring the advice , n meeting up, n socialising. We need a lockdown asap imo
I've stayed away from Mum today, but have chatted. It feels quite sad tbh , as nobody knows how long this will last:("You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I went out for a walk today and easily kept my distance from everyone I passed and then went into the local shop. I was only in there less than 5 minutes but women with pushchairs came in and started chatting and some people were blocking the aisles and the exit! Everyone was chatting face to face as if it was normal. Grr.
The paramedic I know said to definitely get a mask to wear when I am out and about, no matter how briefly. I didn't even think to get one and now they are probably sold out.2025 GOALS

Guess this is where having learned to throw your voice comes in handy. Having a chat with a stranger today whilst we were both out for a walk and we must have been about 8' apart and "throwing our voices". Good job we were both good at it. It would be handy to be somewhere where no-one ever thought they had a right to comment on anything they'd heard by eavesdropping, and so we had to "be careful about what we said" when other people were walking cautiously past us just-in-case of said eavesdropping - but had a good conversation (without megaphones).
Amateur dramatics training of way back came in handy.

The idea of curfews and martial law makes me shudder. I really don't think the government wants to take such draconian actions, it goes against democracy but, sadly, if the public can't be trusted to act in their own best interests, then they will have no choice,
So, as always, the minority puts the spanner in the works and the silent majority suffer.5 -
Helen I think a lockdown is definitely on its way. It’s the only way to stop social contact. For Mother’s Day, I got a voucher for a facial. Unfortunately, the salon is closed for the forseeable future, but it gives me something nice to look forward to in the not too distant future.6
