Hi everyone,
Although BoJo has given some much needed clarity, there are still companies who are insisting their staff continue to work. OH is still required at work, despite them not having much work on and him not being a key worker. Initially, he was told to continue going to work, but following a heated discussion with the boss, he has now been told he only has to go in if there is work on. OH said he was happy with this and can easily get to work as needed. I get that company's need to remain financially afloat, but it really doesn't make sense to insist staff remain in enclosed spaces when there is nothing to do.
I have been thinking about how thankful I am:
I a thankful, that I have a loving family and that most of the people I know are safe and well.
I am thankful that my family is adequately housed.
I am thankful that we have a financial buffer to weather this storm, if needed and that we have jobs.
I am thankful for the NHS and its staff, who are working in difficult conditions.
I am thankful that we have a government that we can hold to account and who are making attempts to try to keep us safe (compared with countries that probably aren't doing much).
I am thankful that I have you lovely ladies to keep me entertained.

The lovely weather certainly lifts the spirits.:)
I was amused on the fabbing front about how many people are worrying (humorously) about how they'll cope without hair cuts and hair colour now that salons have closed. It'll be interesting to see if the politicians and newsreaders gradually became shaggier and shaggier or start doing some DIY! I have some lightening spray that will help me manage a bit until I can get my highlights again but I did hear a hairdresser on the radio recommending using eyeshadow to cover up grey!:D
At the moment, we're able to go to supermarkets and do our food shopping so I'm not worried about that although we do have plenty of food anyway. I always shop weekly so I won't be doing that too often. I just hope that the promised supply chains start working ASAP. It's not good for anyone to be traipsing from shop to shop looking for missing items.
We'll go out for a walk later. I'm sooo pleased that wasn't stopped. We're fortunate that we have a number of interesting walks from home in all directions. It's not clear whether taking a drive and then walking (or just sitting in the car) is acceptable. I do hope it is, not for myself but for people with mobility issues to get a change of scene.
Keep safe all.:)

I guess being together 24/7 might be difficult for some people, especially if there are other constraints such as financial difficulties etc.My son and DIL are loving it. My son said to me the other day.......just how much they are enjoying being together as a family, not having to rush around, no commuting - just working from home and enjoying their little family. He went on to say - "if he were here now, you and dad would have been in heaven".
He said that he can remember how it was when his dad was forced to go on gardening leave when he was made redundant and not allowed to work - that he remembered how we all landscaped the garden together. My son said it was the best summer ever. He was 15 at the time.....I asked if it was better than some of our big trips, he said "well the trips were great but God yeah, it was so nice just being family together ........"
I know family time remembered when we've lost someone close is always especially poignant but it just goes to show that ultimately, it's family and loved ones that count more than anything. And yes he's right, my husband and I would have been in heaven .....we would have turned it into a second honeymoon (or our case just continued the romance. Life was just one long honeymoon). 😂Half way through cutting the grass....it's hot thirsty work so just having a breather.....
My chiropractor has just cancelled for tomorrow.....emergencies only and I've had a
note from the dentist to say all non urgent treatments are postponed. The world is closing in.....8 -
Wednesday.....hope you aren't going to turn into a curtain twitcher......😂🤣6

Well I'm going to see if my hair will actually grow to a decent length. So often I let it grow a bit and then give up because I find the inbetween stage such a pain. I might have to get something like an Alice band or some scarves otherwise I'll end up attacking it with the scissors myself. 😱😂.Chanie......a lovely reminder of all we have to be grateful for.7

Re the companies who are dithering.....,I think it's financial. They are worried that if they shut up shop prematurely they might not be eligible for some of the financial packages available. As you know my youngest son is self employed in the construction industry. There have been hardly any guidelines., except to say "urgent work and maintenance only" He went in This morning and everyone was sent home but then was told they might need some of them back next week. Stupid, crazy. This is a commercial project, a block of flats so not really urgent because at the current state of build it can't be converted into either a make shift hospital or emergency accommodation for NHS or key workers - of at least not in the required time frame.8 -

I think that is a definite possibility LL.
Well, I just did 10 minutes on my mini trampoline listening to music. My right calf is still quite stiff as I sprained my right knee before Christmas. I'm hoping to build on that to do 20 minutes each day.
I'm about to have a hot bubble bath. I did think that I will switch from shower gel/bath foam to just ordinary soap as that lasts ages but I forgot today. I may as well use up what I have and then change over.5 -
Helen what lovely story from your DS.
Maman I can't comment on everywhere but I think the supermarkets stock is being replenished - it certainly is here in London. Aldi on Sunday had a decent level of stock and my niece who works in a Supermarket said it was getting better. I guess many panic buyers are now at capacity, with their 200 loo rolls!!!!

I had a busy week. Working everyday. catch up, all sorted now but I wait till the first wave happens.
I work with the public and they are great but like every one afraid or totally oblivious to danger. Some people must live under a rock in a location with no wifi
Mother's day was busy with people doing stuff, I couldn't believe the volume of cars parked outside cemeteries. It was like a traffic jam central. People generally are excellent.
I had loads of last minute tasks before the full lockdown. Stocking up on a weighing scales, electronics and resistance bands. If I'm restricted I want to not gain too much weight. I had a bad week eating 2 packets of the rice cakes and 2 packs of biscuits. Despite that I still lost a kg, progress.
I've been eating better. More fresh veg, frozen. But it's going to be harder to maintain the variety of food with lockdowns.
Hope everyone is keeping well, occupied and catching up on projects.6 -

Just as well I don't have a "man in life" that I have to look good for and I'm not on the lookout for one - a very odd blessing of being single LOL.6
