They definitely need to spell out what people are supposed to be doing as they aren't making it strict enough.
It makes me laugh that they are complaining about so many people using the tube this morning when they have reduced the number of trains running. What are people supposed to do if they need to get into work?
I went into the garden yesterday and the neighbours were out there and I wouldn't even be able to keep the 2 metres from them as our gardens are so small. I came back inside just to be cautious.
It was easy to keep my distance yesterday when I went for a walk but I think I will only go for a walk a couple of times a week from now on. I need to start exercising at home properly. I just saw the fitness guru Joe Wicks is on the TV at the moment. There are lots of online exercise classes to do.
I just got a call from the GP surgery and I have a folic acid deficiency again so I will have to go out at some point to pick up my prescription.
I have decided to just wear comfy clothes at home that I can wear in bed as well as It doesn't seem like I will be going out much at all. I have my Ocado delivery coming soon (although quite a lot of items missing) and I want to look half way presentable but I can't see the point of wearing going outside clothes.
Today I am wearing my navy PJ bottoms with a purple long sleeved Gap top but I put on makeup and a necklace and earrings so I look like I'm dressed.

I agree that Piers is a bit Marmite and definitely plays to the gallery but he's no shrinking violet and I like that. There's a good clip where he challenges the Health Secretary.

They must think we've got ridiculously short memories if we think the government advice has been consistent all along. I'm sure it was barely a week ago when our government advice was different from Belgium, Spain and Italy. In fact British government advice was different from the rest of the world.
DD1 had 25 children at school today from a school roll of just under 300. That's pleasing as while they don't have many children of NHS workers they do have lots of care workers and delivery drivers and vulnerable children. She took all 25 (aged from 5 to 11) for a sewing session. Do you remember the old binca fabric with holes in for doing cross stitch patterns? That can be done by all ages with varying degrees of independence from designing the pattern to threading a needle! Apparently they all enjoyed it.
We've been out for out walk to a local open air sports centre. It has lots of pitches, a very scenic golf course and some open parkland. There were people about but most were being sensible and keeping their distance. On average we're just doing about 2 miles of brisk walking. Personally I'd like to do double that but it's better than nothing.

Thanks ....it wasn't that one. It's one where he answers a telephone call, someone whinging about isolation measures.I can't find it anywhere, I wonder if it's been taken down. He really let rip.5

Thanks........No it wasn't that one either.....😂.but you can see he's getting rattled and being very forthright. He's obviously had quite a Morning. But, let's face it, it's time someone in the media actually called these morons out. Just so sad that it has to take Piers in shouty ranty mode to ram the message home, because they certainly aren't listening to the voice of sweet reason.
As for the !!!!!! filming himself licking the shelves and then posting on social media. Apparently some medics have had their car windows smashed in whilst they were in duty......And on FB I have just seen a woman in Aldi's in Australia accuse staff of stealing from her purse so she went back and deliberately coughed over the cashier.
What the hell has gone wrong with our society. The sooner we go into lockdown and they bring out the troops to reinforce it the better. I can't believe I'm saying this because I believe passionately in democracy and the freedom of the individual. It goes completely against the grain for me, against everything I believe in.I just can't believe it has come to this and yet the pandemic isn't even near its peak yet.6 -
I'm pleased that tonight's information matches what DH and I've been doing so we won't find it hard to comply. I'm glad we are still allowed out for exercise. I do hope people respect it. 🙂
Just a heads up that the fake Skechers from Shoezone are on 2for1. Obviously their shops are closing but they are online. I wear them for walking so I think I'll buy some more. 🙂6 -
Well it isn't as draconian as it could be so just hoping people do comply.5

I certainly hope so, I just don't understand people who are continuing to ignore the measures put in place.
I've had a few days off work which has been really nice, have gone out for walk each day around the local park and glad that this will be able to continue. I've been applying hand cream liberally and my hands are beginning to look a bit better - the constant hand washing and alcohol gel at work were making them so dry. Back to work tomorrow so they'll probably get dry again very quickly but will try to keep on top of it.
My eyebrow appointment has been cancelled so will give them a little tidy up with tweezers today. I'm planning to paint my nails later and maybe do a face mask. Hope you're all keeping safe and well.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Good morning lovely ladies...
Well here we are Day 1 of lockdown.Let's us all celebrate what we do have, let's make the best of a bad job and just get on with our lives. We live in the West, in a well developed economy, we have creature comforts that our grandparents could only have dreamed of. We have science and technology. There's no need to cave in to despair and misery. Let's show up every day and put our best foot forward. It looks like we are in for some lovely weather over the next few days, so I shall be going for a daily walk and I shall be spending lots of time out of doors in my garden..today I shall probably eat my lunch alfresco. Pretend I'm in the Med somewhere. 😂. This weekend it looks like it's going to be cold and miserable so I shall start my spring cleaning.Beauty tasks today.......my skin is still very dry so will up the water, lots of slathering and hand care.Stay well my friends, stay positive and upbeat. Dress up and show up. We've got this.5 -
Hmm, 3 weeks now.
I was going around my house yesterday before I heard the announcement and working out how long everything I have will last.
Food - 2 or maybe 3 weeks
Loo roll - 2 weeks
Cat litter - 6 weeks
Toiletries - ages, probably 3 months!
I have been observing my neighbours this morning. Lol, it can be my new hobby while I'm indoors.
I woke up to the sound of the couple arguing very loudly next door. Did people read about the number of couples in China divorcing after being in isolation together?!
Luckily I get on well with my husband and I used to work from home anyway so we are used to spending a lot of time together. My husband is still working as he is a key worker and so is my other neighbour as they work in the same field. He is back to work this weekend as normal. The arguing neighbour is probably still working too as she works in a shop selling essential goods. I have noticed a lot of my neighbours suddenly leaving their houses with shopping trolleys today. You would think they might have prepared in the past week.
I have made a list of favourite films I might want to watch. I realised I didn't get around to watching Picard either so I have that to watch.
The weather is so lovely at the moment so I have my french doors wide open all day to get as much daylight into the house as I can.
Take care all.x2025 GOALS
