Good afternoon lovely ladies...
hope you all had the best Christmas possible under the circumstances. Hope you are all feeling well.Lovely day here. Just been to Aldi, for a few bits of fresh produce. That will see me through to New Year so I don't have to brave the shops again until next year. 😉.I am just about to start a new thread for 2021. But ......before I go .......a couple of observations.......
in Aldi's two very fat ladies, mother and daughter, walked out with a trolly full of Aldi's own label full fat Coca Cola.....nothing else. The mother was huffing and puffing, she could hardly walk she was so big, I do feel sorry for people like that but the remedy lies in their own hands. Do they really know no better or are they addicted to the stuff. Then I saw two very fat young women in their 20s coming out of Greggs, stuffing their faces with some sort of very greasy looking pies. I also saw people queuing to get into Greggs. I'll repeat that ........queuing to get into Greggs. 🤷♀️ And I have to say everyone of them was overweight. And is it me being an outrageous snob but am I the only one who hates to see people eating in the street. When I was at school woe bedtide you If you where caught eating in the street. It was a caning offence. It certainly isn't elegant or glamorous. 😉.Hey Ho, you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. You can't force people to take more responsibility for what they shovel down their throats. The NHS can post up healthy eating advice, surgeries can do their best to encourage better habits but if people don't want to act on that advice I guess you can't force them, even if they are digging their own graves with their knives and forks or, in the case of eating in the street, their own fingers. (Not very hygienic either, especially in the middle of a pandemic). Ah well. Are we ready for a new thread. I'll start it a bit early to give newbies time to find us, and to give the stalwarts time for reflection......it's time FINALLY to put 2020 behind us.Good Riddance. Let's hope 2021 will be kinder.I think we all deserve a break ...😂🤣8 -
You are not a snob LL (or perhaps you are and then so am I), but eating in the street is one of my pet hates, I just can't stand it.Debt free and Keeping on Track5

I must be a snob as well as I don’t like seeing people eat in the streets. I know it has become socially acceptable now but it is not something I would do - the only exception is possibly fish & chips sitting on a bench down by the quayside at Weymouth in the summer 😉.
Your sentiments of 2020 will be echoed by many LL - it is a year I definitely want to see the back of and although I think the first few months of the year will be hard with further lockdowns etc. at least we do have hope of life returning to some sort of normality.
See you on the new thread 😀.6 -
I found the new 2021 thread, so I’ll see you all over there.6
