maman I love your festive fireplace.
lm so happy to read all the positivity on this thread. Times are hard, but this won’t last forever.
im working until Christmas Eve, but at least I can work from home. Many people are on holiday, so things are quiet and so I can use this time to catch up on things I need to do.

I have decided to watch a Christmas film each day. I've got Die Hard, Elf and Last Christmas lined up. I was watching some cooking vlogs last night and it made me look in my fridge and freezer to see what we actually have and I know what to make us for xmas day dinner now.
I want to look through my wardrobe to see if there is something I haven't worn yet for Christmas day. I did buy a DP quite dressy black dress that I was going to wear to the Andre Rieu concert (if that happens now!) and I haven't worn that yet. I know I have got a black top with lace that I haven't worn yet so I could just wear that with one of my black short skirts and tights.
I am wondering if people are going to stick to the new rules as I haven't noticed the majority of people socially distancing since March! I don't know if my in-laws are still all meeting up even though they aren't supposed to.
I had a hot bath last night and defuzzed and used body lotion afterwards. I used my new faux fur hot water bottle last night in bed.I'm about to have a shower and do a hair treatment. I want to go for my usual walk. My husband has an optician appointment this afternoon and I'm not sure if that is still on. He will have to call up to check.

Not much to report on the fabbing front, but had a hilarious zoom chat with a few friends last night.Every time anyone replied to me, Bonnie barked , n got over excited, so She had to have time out in the kitchen 🤣🤣
WEDNESDAY, mum had booked for Andre Rieu too, n it's been cancelled twice already
What are you making for Xmas dinner? I'm having camembert, crudites, n crunchy bread 😋"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I'm going to make soup and bread as a starter. The main will be the Richmond vegan sausages, roast potatoes, maple parsnips, broc, corn on the cob with stuffing and onion gravy. We have fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I was going to get a cake but I'm not sure if the bakery near me that does vegan cakes will be open.
I like the next day when I just have a plate of leftovers with extra bits like the Linda McCartney sausage rolls, crackers, pickles etc...
I just watched a Christmas film called A Royal Winter. It was about a woman from New York who goes on holiday to Europe and meets a prince. Her name was Maggie Marks which made me laugh. It was quite good!2025 GOALS

Another one who is watching a Christmas film each day - this afternoon it was the second Die Hard
I must admit I am starting to freak out (again) re the news and the new Covid strain. Am trying to keep focussed and distract myself and look on the bright side. DS managed to get out of London when it was still Tier 2 and is with us, so for that I am truly thankful.Debt free and Keeping on Track7 -
I went out tonight to M&S to buy the Xmas dinner and I nearly had a heart attack when the bill came to over £60, as I hadn’t bought much, but I had bought the turkey and meat trimmings, so that’s why it was quite expensive.
Town was quite busy when I went in. We have lots of those independent world food type shops, so people were shopping there. I noticed that an independent clothes shop was open, under the guise of click and collect - I think they were just bringing stock out to people.
I really feel for people who haven’t managed to do their shopping yet, as many are going to struggle with the shops being shut. We didn’t get any notice with this latest lockdown, so people had no time to prepare.6 -
I am on doctor advised no more than 2 red meat days a week for the foreseeable. Honestly, I don't mind- I just have to plan leftovers that I don't have too big portions. I normally eat a lot of lentils, tofu, and pulses. I am still experimenting with tempeah and need a bit more ideas. Lots of greens and vegetables.
I have not decided what to cook but it looks like I will defrost some fish and have roast vegetables. I have a click and collect order organized and usually by the time I collect it- I have forgotten half what is coming. I feel the click and collect reduce impulse spending. I did dash into the local Tesco and only picked up a tub of yogurt, blueberries, teabags, and a small gift (which was the reason for the shopping trip).
Lockdown has not happened yet for me but numbers are rising and its getting scary for many. I am just hoping people do the right thing for themselves and others.
The fabbing is going dreadfully- I have not exercised this week- longer hours and a genuine dislike of walking rural roads at night just mean I'm not getting out in the daylight. I have to make time and prioritize my health. This year thought me of I can achieve activity levels of 40 minutes a day- I feel better and look better.
My goal is to get a few days of activity over Christmas and continue to eat healthily- sounds easy but isn't.8 -
I feel like fabbing thoughts are hard to come by in last few days, as been dealing with the gut renching disappointment of not being able to travel to ds and family for christmas, we are in tier 4. so when we woke this morning to news of blockade of dover, we decided to do our food shopping for upcoming week, as we had run everything down. went to Aldi, got a chicken in bag reduced to £3.59, brussels, parsnips, carrots and red cabbage all 14p each in the super saver 6, cant believe these prices!!!!!! still ended up spending £100 but have a lot of stuff and much for freezer, apart from a few top ups of milk and veg next week, should do us for two weeks. apart from a daily walk, we won’t be going anywhere, tier 4 is really stay at home. 😭. cloudy tonight so can’t see the christmas star. think we will be feeling lazy and wearing pjs a lot!6

We watched the film Elf last night and it was so funny. I had seen it before but I didn't really remember it. I can see why so many people think it is a classic.
My dogs ran in from the garden late last night with seriously dirty paws so I went out and cleaned my paving slabs in my garden this morning with a broom and soapy water. I haven't used the jet washer for a while and it was getting all green and mossy. The slabs still look quite bad so I will have to do the same tomorrow. At least I'm getting some fresh air, exercise and daylight doing it!
I read some more of my book afterwards and now I'm watching a Christmas episode of The Simpsons and I have my scented candle lit with a cup of green tea and a bar of chocolate beside me.
I wore a short black lace Dotty P dress with tights and a black cardigan today. Earrings and a necklace too. I know it is a bit dressed up for what I did today but why not?
I am recording a few more Christmas films from the TV and will watch Die Hard later.
