Hi I replied to your message on another thread, but so pleased to learn that you are home sugarbaby.
Wednesday, as I understand it (correct me if people have more recent info) the antibody test will not be available to anyone yet, not even the medics, supply has been commissioned, but it has not been validated yet, as with all these types of tests it has to be tested that it works as envisaged and that the number of false results come within the acceptable levels for these things. It was said that any test available to the public via selling sites will not have been proven, if indeed they ever are. I have a particular interest as due to one of my serious health conditions my body does not make antibodies to vaccinations or exposure and so could not be of use to such as me. In a year + time I will get the benefit of antibodies made by the kind people who donate blood products to produce replacement antibody products that I inject weekly to give me a partial working immune system.
As you might deduce from the above I am classed as being of severe risk and am in purdah for 12 weeks minimum
ETA - please see below more recent information from Helen in respect of testing

My understanding is that the antibody test is quite simple - just a finger p r I c k for a blood sample which is then sent off to a lab. Unfortunately results are not instantaneous like pregnancy or diabetes kits.Apparently it will be available on Amazon and the government has said that it wants it to be affordable to everyone. It won't be yet though.....but they do want it as ASAP so people know whether they can work or not. Given the financial repercussions of millions staying at home being supported by the State I'm sure they will get this up and running as quickly as possible,
The test for whether or not you currently have the virus is a little more invasive and complicated and priority will be given to those on the front line.....patients and NHS workers first.
Just caught the news ....Boris has mild symptoms and has tested positive. Just heard his address and he sounds chirpy enough. 😁. I know not everyone likes him but I have to confess I do have a soft spot for him, always have........he has "something".He reminds me of a boisterous Labrador......😂🤣.4 -

Yes having shared a home with a boisterous yellow Labrador I have always thought that about Boris too.

Lol, I see what you two mean about Boris! A definite similarity.
I was thinking of asking the paramedic I know if he knew anything more about the antibody tests as he seemed to be ahead of the media reporting when I asked him about the Coronavirus. I think he is off work this week, though.
My April Andre Rieu concert has been postponed until mid September. I wonder if that is when they think the crisis might have cooled down a bit?
My psychologist told me she is being called in for emergency NHS cases due to the virus so I may not see her for a while. I'm quite stable at the moment anyway and I just had a medication review with the psychiatrist so I'm not too worried about having a break.

The mental health toll is yet another additional problem isn't it. I am not stressed or anxious - but just trying to do the right thing, isolating and trying to stay out of harms way. I dont have a problem with isolation but I can understand that some people might find it stressful.
Talking to my SIL last night.....my niece has Aspergers. The poor girl is not coping very well at all with any of this. She is very intelligent but is incapable of rational thought and is on constantly high panic level. It is a tremendous strain on my SIL. When I was there I managed to help a bit by keeping her distracted and entertained and away from the news but she is a news junkie at the best of times. She fixates on it and gets herself into a right old state.Obviously we do need to keep up to date so I'm not advocating that we all turn into ostriches but I think wallowing in 24 hr news coverage and listening to the politicos and talking heads all day is very damaging. I think we need to distance ourselves a bit from the news if we can.
oh well time for lunch......I have been cleaning my kitchen cupboards this morning. 😇5 -

Time to relax now and get fully fit again 😘
Have just seen that Matt Hancock has also got the virus! It must spread like wildfire 😯
Was chatting with my Cousin , who is a London paramedic, n She said 1000 of their staff are off right now! They are completely exhausted and demoralised

I'm absolutely delighted to hear from you sugarbaby. Thanks so much for posting to let us all know. It sounds like you've had a terrible time but if you were going to get it, particularly with your other health conditions, far better now before the hospitals get really manic. Take great care of yourself.6

Sugar I’m so pleased to hear you are on the mend. What a scary time.

Sugar glad to see you posting. It was a terrible affect it had on you, hopefully the recovery will be speedy and loads of rest. I hope you feel better soon and will be singing soon. When this is over have a supermothers day party. Seriously it will be all the sweeter after the lock down to party and dance.
I'm off today, not going anywhere obviously. But loads of cleaning, laundry, food prep and reading. I've signed up for a free trial of the Fitbit coach for three months. It might inspire me to move.
Fabbing wise I'm back wearing make up. It makes me feel better and that's enough. I'm going to try and do a relaxing day tomorrow and mini spa thing. With the salons, beautician and make up artists closed some fear it will get ugly- we have always been ahead of this with diy pampering.
Hope you all are well. Keeping busy as possible.
