Hello Ladies,
It is amazing what a couple of nights sleep in my own bed can accomplish. I feel a lot like my old self, even though I am not yet fully there.
I am watching lots of recorded TV programmes and catching up with other programmes on the various I Players.
I need to eat lots of nutritious meals, so lucky for me I am a good cook, so I will be spending lots of time cooking in the coming weeks to allow me and my daughter to maintain healthy eating habits. She has to cut right down on her sweet treats, as she will no longer be getting any exercise naturally each day through her waitress job. When I am up to it, I will start dancing and exercising at home, I need to get my muscles back to where they were before corona virus hit me so hard.
I cooked pork loin chops with a yellow pepper, an onion and sliced carrots in gravy with roast potatoes yesterday and it tasted absolutely delicious. Mu daughter loved her dinner as well.
I went to pick up some fruit and a wholemeal loaf yesterday from Morrisons in Camberwell Green and I was so impressed by how Morrisons and Lidl have introduced social distancing shopping making it safe for all of us to go out and get our essential shopping without increasing the risk for any of us. I am finding it increasingly difficult to get my grocery shopping online, so I may need to switch to shopping more locally while this crisis unfolds.

More Covid chic today.
My nails have been cut short (as we're told those fashionable "talons" are a risk) - but then my nails always were cut short anyway by choice.
So I shall wash my hair before going for my daily exercise (ie a walk) and be deliberately dressing down during lockdown (and even more dress down if it gets even worse) and then go back to normal/obvious "make an effort" afterwards. Meanwhile, I'm temporarily only "grey-haired elderly female/obviously not a lout" iyswim. Once it's over I'll be back to "white hair because it's fashionable/don't you dare call me elderly because I'm not/obviously dressed in matching clothes with carefully chosen accessories etc".
There are "always some" on the one hand and some people in any walk of life that love a chance to be "officious" ostensibly in the performance of their duties (quick note - I worked for the police many years back and so I do know about both types - those doing their job properly and "the others" and know most are conscientiously doing their job to best of their ability - but it's not all of them and there are some "others").
So, in case I encounter one of "the others", rather than "vast majority doing their job conscientiously" whilst I'm out for my daily walk (which I shall get to on Shanks' Pony) I'll be working out a fine balance between dress down fit in type clothing and "take me seriously - ie as a person who can work out for myself the boundaries of being responsible and there would be blowback if they don't realise that fact.."

Good Morning lovely ladies.....
SUgarbaby so glad to hear you are feeling a bit perkier. You are right you will get far more rest and better quality of sleep at home.Got my youngest son dropping by to pick up some paint. Felt really mean telling him it had to be a flying visit, he stays outside.....😂. But his girl is a nurse so I'm taking no chances. He understood and is fine. We are all doing our bit.Very cold here, a bitter wind so I won't be going out for a walk. I will exercise indoors instead. Luckily I think it's only today the rest of the week doesn't look great but at least a few degrees warmer. Going to potter in the kitchen, do some cooking.Jamie's cookery Programmes are on later, 4 of them I think, so I've set them to record.
cant believe how long my hair is already......Covid Chic indeed.....😂7 -
I was listening to the radio the other day and they had a hairstylist on it. She was saying styling will be out best option. Using the Alice bands, volumizing powder and blow drying, it can prevent people damaging the hair too badly with harsh dyes or the kitchen sissors.
Really good chance to try new skills
I'm watching old stuff from the 1960 like mission impossible and just avoiding the news. Have to keep the spirits high.
Sugar the dinner sounds wonderful. Hopefully you will share s recipe with us. Was the pork stuffed with the pepper?
So far I have enough in to do. I would like to get some fresh produce like bananas, cabbage, carrots and milk. I've enough picked and fermented. I even found a few lost tins of peaches last week. I want to leave the supermarket to those who really need it today.
Things are a bit different here, I need a pass and I'd to show the police that I need to travel tomorrow. I never thought that these restrictions would come to pass. However if it is needed so be it.6 -
You even 'sound' more like your old self sugarbaby. So pleased you're getting stronger.
I have pork chops in the freezer so liked the sound of your recipe. Did you make the gravy or cheat?
I've watched the Jamie Oliver programmes during the week. They're very good. I particularly liked a beef and ale hotpot that he did. The alcohol isn't essential, you could use a stock cube instead. We're having a roast today as we do most Sundays. it's good to keep to a routine I think.
Is anyone else watching Pimlico? I don't think it'll catch on as much as Downton but if you like a period drama then it's worth a look. Some very good actors in it and a good reflection of Victorian social snobbery between aristocracy and 'trade'. It'll be interesting to see what happens after the pandemic is over whether society will continue to value the current key workers or whether we'll be back to Gordon Gecko.
On The 'Covid Chic' I think I'll have to cut my fringe at some point. We do have good scissors though as DH has a moustache so they are proper cutting scissors. Yesterday, he had a Zoom meeting with his colleagues and he had a good laugh about how many of the men were sporting 'designer' stubble.I'm looking forward to him growing his hair, I love it when it's long. When I met him he had a Kevin Keegan perm.
I cut my nails quite short moneyseeker but they seem to have grown again quite quickly. I did shape them yesterday and oil the cuticles. My nails are so amazingly clean, they look like a French manicure.
I didn't go out at all yesterday and I wasn't as upbeat as I've been so I will do something today. It's lovely and bright here but there's a cold wind too.
Keep safe all.

My husband did well in Tesco Express yesterday. He bought peanut butter, margarine, spaghetti hoops, pistachios, cereal, hand lotion, shaving gel and he found paracetamol, finally!
He said that there are far less people around in our part of London and especially on the tube so he was able to keep his distance from people quite easily.
I am reading a book I bought ages ago and didn't finish! 12 Rules for LIfe - Jordan Peterson. The first rule was very interesting. He made the point about how vitally important serotonin is to you and your overall physical and mental health. As I have probably mentioned on here I have been taking a supplement called 5-htp which is a natural way of boosting serotonin and I am feeling so much calmer. I am going to read one rule a day as well as some of my other book. I have lots to get through. I wonder if this goes on for a long time if i might read everything on my kindle!
I had a bath, defuzzed and put on scented body lotion. I put on makeup and a dress and my bright pink jumper, earrings and a necklace. I'm going to snuggle up and watch some more episodes of a show later. It's sunny but it's quite chilly too.
