Don't know why but some of my post got cut off. This is the worst possible time for this site to be in such a mess.3

Maman - OH and I have walked in that area and visited the church, several times in the intervening years one or other of us has remembered and mentioned that fantastic church door. xThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)4

Yesterday I went to what will have to be my last Knit N Natter for a while, just the owner and another friend well spaced out around a 10 seater table, it was good to be able to chat and enjoy their company. J the owner has set up a Whatsapp group for us and the messages and photos have been winging their way around, my phone doesn't get a lot of activity usually and it has hardly stopped "dinging" since.
Today I went to my usual PT session, 1 to 1 with the owner of a small private gym, we discussed how to keep me safe and he had already cleaned down the few pieces of equipment that I use each week, I also wore surgical type gloves, so I am relieved and happy that I can continue for at least the immediate future. He trains several doctors, nurses and scientists so will be able to keep up to date with what is ongoing locally.
Take care, but try to have fun all you lovely people. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)4 -

Good morning lovely ladies.,
Sugarbaby if you are able to log on and read along, hope you are doing ok.Well as expected No 2 son has been sort of laid off this Morning, so he popped in for brunch and a chat. Plenty of work but it is being shelved, and access on site denied due to the virus. Luckily he has savings. And he has already registered with extra agencies. He's fine! pretty upbeat and positive. He's a cheerful pragmatic person anyway but I will keep an eye on him. We've had a council of war and drawn up plan of action.I've advised him to use the time productively, get his outstanding jobs done, and then I have a list he can help me with. As before I would rather employ him (mates rates of course😂) than employ outsiders. And I'm happy for him to "squeeze me in" as and when. None of the work is urgent. I have also advised him to go ahead and do a course to up his qualifications and increase his employability.More problematic is his girlfriends situation. As expected all elective surgery has been suspended, her ward is being prepared and today she is undergoing training. The silver lining is that at least my son will have more time to support her if she is going to have to work more. I have warned my son that it is going to be gruelling for her, not just physically but mentally and emotionally so she will need extra support. My sister works for a well known pharmacy chain and she says it's like a war zone. Staff are doing their level best but are under enormous pressure and to make matters worse they are having to out with abuse from the public. Shameful. One of their local branches had to close today because they have no staff. On a lighter note.....grandson cannot go to nursery so my son and DIL went to Argos and bought him some new toys. As my son said. "If he can't go to nursery, then we will have to bring the nursery to him." Actually the nursery are being very pro active, sending a weekly bulletins and suggestions for new activities to keep the little ones amused. And lots of online stuff becoming available, games, music and exercise.Another positive note........pollution levels across the world are falling. Proof positive that much of the pollution and environmental damage is a direct result of dirty industries. The earth is literally being given a breathing space. Let's hope the powers that be take note and learn from this, that the way forward needs to encompass more measures to protect our planet. Let's hope that when this is over and we gear up again people will take more notice of our scientists. Perhaps we will finally become greener.Lunch and then a stroll and then a bit of gardening. Get some fresh air and exercise.Keeeeeep fabbing, stay happy.5 -
Thanks for the positive post LL.
Just as a small aside (only slightly tongue in cheek). I saw one of those music/exercise videos for toddlers on the news. I didn't think encouraging them to touch their eyes and ears and mouth and nose was a very good idea.4 -
😂🤣.Went for a walk, too cold for gardening. So a cuppa and then some cupboard sorting.5

I don't think so Maman as part of his job is to test the trains that are still running so he is still needed at work.
Sorry about your son's job LL.
Maddiemay - my brother is always nagging me to join Whatsapp.
I just braved going out to pick up my medication and it is very quiet out there. I saw a couple of double decker buses going past almost empty. I had to go to the pharmacy and I have never seen it that busy on the other hand. There was a sign to stay a metre away from other people in the queue although I'm sure that won't make much difference if someone there was ill with the virus! The people behind the counter were wearing masks and gloves.
I went into a shop beforehand as it was empty and as I was quickly paying a woman came in and stood right behind me, really close. Some people really are morons! I managed to avoid being too close to people apart from that.
I have my CBT phone appointment later. I think I need it as it is a stressful time.
I did see a group of workmen doing some work outside a house and they were all laughing and joking amongst themselves. Some people seem to take stress much more in their stride than others.

Hope your telephone appointment goes well Wednesday.🙂
I know what you mean about shops. DH went to the pharmacy yesterday to pick up his regular prescription. He said he did his best to stay 2m away but people kept standing next to him. It's a bit like driving. I always leave a good stopping distance but there's always a selfish, arrogant driver who jumps the queue into the space you've left for safety.
