Sorry to hear you're still so unwell sugarbaby. It's so confusing to hear the World Health Organisation advising 'Test, Test, Test' when there don't seem to be plans to do it here. I suspect we have limited resources but I'm naturally cynical. 🤔
I'm not sure listening to newsfeeds (excuse pun) while you're eating is a good idea sft. I'm sure it's not good for your digestion. 😉
Personally, I am listening carefully to the now daily bulletins, thinking about them and then listening to comment from 'experts' that I trust. That includes the BBC. It's surprising how the viewing figures and website traffic for the BBC rocketed last week. It would seem that despite all the recent BBC bashing that people do trust the network. 😊

SUgarbaby,.....I am so sorry to hear you are so poorly. I do hope you feel better soon.I know we are not supposed to give medical advice and I'm not however, just in case anyone has missed it, I want to draw attention to the latest NHS guidelines.
The NHS is advising people who have contracted the virus not to take ibruprofen because they think this might make symptoms worse and dampen our own immune response. They recommend only Paracetamol.Stay safe. X7 -
Sugar I wish you a speedy recovery.I’m relieved that I get to work from home now, as it means I’m more in control of who I come into close contact with. I don’t mind going to work, it’s the commute on public transport that concerned me. On the fabbing front, it means I got to bring forward my hairdressers appointment. It’s long overdue, but i have been struggling to fit it in, now I’m working from home, I can have my hair done while I’m working. My children’s school is still open, but I suspect it will be closed soon. I think many parents have already started to keep their children at home, as the playground looked remarkably empty.5

Hi Ladies, I haven't posted for a few months now due to this new forum set up but today I've decided to bite the bullet and rejoin. I've been reading along every day but like others I'm not a fan of the new look to the website. Hey ho🙂.
I'm fortunate that neither I,dh or DD are in an at risk category but I'm worried because we're in London, my daughter's school is open and she has to use public transport to get there. Similarly my husband has to commute using public transport. His employer has quite rightly sent home colleagues in the at risk categories but he and everyone else are being left to pick up the slack. It's annoying because his job can be done from home but they would have to provide laptops and they are reluctant to do so. So although I'm not going out , they are both still in harm's way because they're trying to do the 'right' thing. I wish they would close the schools.
Personally I am well stocked up with toiletries and DIY supplies so I have plenty to occupy myself but it's the constant worry about my loved ones that's taking its toll. Sorry it's a bit me,me me.
I know others are far worse off.
Sending best wishes to sugarbaby and LL 🌻🌻6 -
Sugar hope you feel better soon.
Welcome back Lucy.
Hopefully everyone is doing well. I drive to work and currently have a full tank of fuel. I only hope that the supply of that is constant. No point worrying.
I have loads of DVD that I bought in a closing down sale that I never got around to watching so I will catch up with one or two. I have a few books to read but staying in. I don't need anything ... Want of course, but need no. I expect we will be better placed to know the difference soon.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies.Hello Lucy, welcome back. Don't worry - your post wasn't all you, you, we do understand your worries. Of course you are worried about your family having to face the rigours of public transport. Some people simply can't self isolate. My DIL, the nurse, now knows for sure her ward is going to be commandeered for virus casualties, yes I'm worried for her. The rest of my family can't protect themselves but she is going to be out there on the front line. 12 hour shifts. I just hope she can take it. She's tiny, very slender and her job is tiring at the best of times. I really feel for our medics - they are going to need superhuman strength and resilience, both mental and physical.I have actually just switched off the news in absolute disgust.Bear with me whilst I have a rant........😱😂
i am sick of the way the media are sensationalising what is a very serious situation. I am sick of them attacking and undermining the government to score cheap political points.
There was an item about a man who died. He had Motor Neurone. They tried to make out that in some way his death was premature due to failings in the NHS. !!!!!!. Sorry. But the man was terminally ill anyway. He already had a death sentence. Forgive me because I know this sounds harsh..,but far better to die of pneumonia than face the horrors of end stage Motor Neurone. Seriously, you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy. In such cases pneumonia is a kindness. They didn't use to call it the old man's friend for nothing.
They went on to say his wife was heartbroken.....well of course she was heartbroken, her husband has just died. What do they expect........Just crass and utterly tasteless, using this poor man's death to score cheap political points. The media should hang their heads in shame. My husband contracted pneumonia three years into his illness and survived. I wished he hadn't, I wish he had died then, because what followed was far far worse. Seriously if I had known then what I know I would have let him die.
For the media to make such comments and capitalise on this was utterly behind the pale. From now on I shall just watch the PMs daily briefings, getting it straight from the horses mouth, and will give TV news coverage a wide berth.I am going to focus on supporting my loved ones and trying to stay out of harms way for as long as I can. Whilst the prospect of solitary isolation isn't particularly inviting I am going to do my level best to stay upbeat, positive, serene and dare I say it, even happy.Come on ladies. Let's do this with style, elegance and charm. Let's keep up the fabbing, the self care and putting our best foot forward. Let's use this time to exercise at home, to catch up on all those niggly outstanding jobs, and to draw our loved knees close and show them how important they are to us.Take care and stay strong my friends, try to remain happy and focussed.SUgarbaby.......hope you are feeling a little better. You are in our thoughts. We are all rooting for you. Xx

LL it is going to be tough and difficult for front line health professionals. Hope you daughter in law will be ok and everyone will be supported. Keep her spirits up, it's all you can do.
I agree with you about the news, the incessant loop of information is dispiriting. I'm going to focus on excellent sources of information and limit time in front of the news.
Keep positive and keep using the lipstick. It's good for the soul.
Lucy would it be worth pulling you daughter out of school. Honestly schools will close, exams will be rescheduled.5 -
In an attempt to keep my spirits up I intend to apply full, but light makeup while I am confined to barracks. I have good skin and am quite happy to be seen without makeup (except mascara and brow pencil), but as whenever any of my friends/acquaintances tell me I am looking well it is always on the days I am using light foundation and eye makeup, so this is my plan ongoing, not forgetting the perfume and lippie. Track bottoms and sweatshirts will be kept for the garden and cleaning, in favour of nice jeans and pretty sweaters.
Stay safe as you can, hugs to all that are vulnerable and those worried about their loved ones.
Sugarbaby- sending many vibes to you for a speedy recovery. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)6 -
