I woke up a bit more rattled today as I was texting the person I'm going to the gig with this week, if it is still on.
He knows a paramedic and what he was saying didn't really do much to reassure me! The paramedic only had one job on Saturday that wasn't Coronavirus related. I texted him back and I said "Only virus suspected, not actual cases?" and it was. He assumes the gig will be called off.
I just went to buy some loo roll, kitchen roll and a few other bits and pieces. The pharmacy was out of paracetamol but I do have some in the medicine box at home. I should get some more just in case. All the cash machines were out of money as well, although it is just after the weekend.
As I left the chemist the man holding the door open for me had a mask over his face as he was obviously sick!
Oh well, anyway, I wanted to buy a foot scrub and they didn't have one so I bought some salt so I can mix it with some body lotion to make one tonight.
I have gained so much weight on this medication. I'm at 12 stone again when I weighed myself this morning. I can't be bothered to worry about that now. I put on my black maxi dress with a new red top and a blue denim shirt over it. This kid walked past me and looked me up and down and said "Ooh, very nice" hahaha. He was about 14 years old. I'm not sure whether to be flattered or creeped out by that.Creeped out, I think. Kids today!

I'd take it as a compliment hun
Mum gave me some paracetamol yesterday, as there's none to be had round here, along with the loo roll drought
Am slapping a dye on my hair today, after someone saying I'm the spit of my Mum the other day! In fairness Mum looks brill for her age, n about 10 years younger, but I need to cover up my greys lol
Hope the gig's not cancelled WEDNESDAY, but it's not looking good is it ?"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I would probably cover up grey too (when I get it) as I think it wouldn't suit me. Some people look good with grey hair.
I don't think Blossoms will go ahead now. He asked me if I was worried about going into central London even if it was still on. I wasn't worried but now am thinking that maybe I should be! It's hard to know how concerned to be about the situation.2025 GOALS

Good afternoon lovely ladies
Candy.....prepare to have the floodgates opened. The first time I had acupuncture for my knee I went home and sobbed for hours. The doctor had warned me that it would affect me emotionally. - he wasn't joking. 😂
Oddly enough afterwards I felt much better. I think it can be a form of catharsis, allowing you to release all the negative emotions and tensions, stress, grief, anger.
It's called releasing yer chakras innit.😂.
Whatever. It certainly helped me release all that bad stuff I had been bottling up for years, decades even. And that had been making me ill.
I know it sounds all a bit new age and maybe some people think it's all just airy fairy nonsense but I do think that healing begins in the head and with our emotions.
Anyway hope you get on ok. I won't say "enjoy".......it's not that kind of experience 😉 but, it is worth it, if it works for you. It certainly helped me.
talking about complimentary therapies.....
My physio sends me a regular newsletter.......and video.....giving useful health tips and advice .(why can't GP surgeries do this). Anyway as you can imagine this month it's all about the coronavirus and how to help ourselves.....as well as the usual wash your hands she gave the following tips.
Basically it was that you can still self isolate without becoming a prisoner.
Exercise.......she said to make sure we get daily fresh air, that it was not only possible but advisable to get outside each day. The worst thing we can do is to be cooped up indoors and not moving around.
Sunshine.....as soon as you see the sun get out and soak it up.
Vitamins and Supplements.....take Vitamin C & D
Healthy Diet.....do not rely on pasta and tinned foods if you can avoid it, the nutritional value is low. Eat as much fresh vegetables, fruits and salads as possible.
Try not to panic.....panic causes production of cortisol, the stress hormone, which can suppress the immune system.
She quoted Louis Pasteur who apparently said "The Germ is nothing, the terrain is everything".
So basically try to maintain overall health to help fight the virus. It might not stop us from getting infected but might mitigate its worst effects.
It's been a lovely spring day here so I have been outside for most of the day. Went to Aldi, then for a walk to the library and then spent the afternoon gardening.
Keep well......and keep fabbing.

It's really strange here all the young people are self isolated but older senior citizens are out and about. Madness!
I guess kids have Xboxes and PlayStations.
I'm trying to stay in as much as possible as I've to take a lot of exposure in work. It's crazy.
I'm all stocked up on food and it will save me the stress of shopping. It's only logical that there will be shortages but toliet paper, I don't know, tissues are better.
I totally agree with LL don't panic, it does not work. I prefer preparedness. Someone said it is time to get stuff organized, catch up one books, try new recipes, learn new craft. People travelled to Australia and America on old steamer boats, it's like that really.

Central London is on the quieter end of busy. Following Boris’ announcement, I expect to be working from home by the end of the week. In the meantime, I’m preparing for isolation. I have bought some extra packets and tins, which I’m going to put away as emergency rations. I am also stocking up on my beauty products and pet food. I’m not going overboard, but just trying to make the new few weeks manageable.
a bit similar to what Helen posted, I’m also thinking of ways to keep us all healthy if we have to stay at home. I’m going to stock up on books and crafts for thr children. Some baking and grow your home. I have my own and library books to keep me occupied. Plus I can borrow e-magazines from the library.

How about board games and cards, jigsaws etc, gets kids off their Iphones and you might even be able to have a conversation with them.....😂🤣.
Thankfully both my son, who has asthma, and my pregnant DIL have today been instructed to work from home. I feel happier now. My youngest son fortunately doesn't have chest issues or allergies and as he points out he doesn't work in a stuffy busy office with recycled air. That just leaves his girl who is a nurse.....currently in a low risk environment - day case non urgent surgical - but I am guessing that will change and all operations will be postponed and the ward will be used for coronavirus victims. I am concerned that she will be at risk but fortunately she seems quite healthy and has good lungs so hopefully she will be able to shrug it off with no real ill effects.
The only one who is likely to be affected financially is my youngest son because he is technically self employed (works for an agency). Luckily he has savings. Plus, I don't know if mentioned this, but FIL has left the boys and I a generous legacy. They don't want to spend it but it will be a safety net if they need.
It will be a worry for a lot of people though, the illness is bad enough but a lot of people are going to struggle with their finances too. This virus comes with a high price tag.5 -
I have come into work today, to find that everyone has been instructed to work from home. So, I'm just tidying up my stuff and will be heading home soon.7
