Me too Maddie.....I agree about keeping up the skin care and a bit of light make up and making an effort. Im not doing anything messy today so I'm wearing some nice jeans and my bright pink jumper.I have decided to cancel my hair appt, just not worth the risk of going into the city centre. . I have decided that now is a good time to try and grow it.......I always give up because I can't stand that messy in between stage but I figure it won't matter quite so much right now. I will get one of my lot to just trim the ends.Did anyone see Esther Rantzen......yes she was made up for the cameras obviously but she was broadcasting herself on her own computer, so I'm assuming there was no film crew or make up artists on hand. She presumably does her own make up. Could be wrong of course. But it goes to show we can still emulate her and look as good as we can. She's 78 and I thought she looked great.Anyway I have spent long enough online this morning......too long.I need to get cracking. 😂.6

Good to see you back lucy. I do hope many other people will brave getting access to this ghastly new site as I'm sure it'll help with social isolation. There is a number of elderly people who used the site who've disappeared in recent weeks. I hope they have family who can help them connect.
There's a cog icon in the top right of your post which you click on to edit LL. Unfortunately it doesn't appear immediately but people tell me that if you hover and click over that general area it works. Sometimes I try to look at a preview of my post first before sending it.
I agree that we have to be selective in listening to the news. PMQs is going ahead today despite the 'ban' on large gatherings which is not a good impression to give to the public IMO. However, I do understand the need to hold the government to account. Yes, they have a difficult job to do and have to make quick responses but I really think they should be asking for advice/opinions before they make announcements which aren't thought through properly. As an example we had the contradictory announcements about pubs, clubs and theatres staying open but asking people not to go to them on Monday. This caused mayhem as venues started closing down, losing income and shedding staff. Tuesday they have to announce financial measures to help the hospitality industry. In Tuesday's financial statement they talk about helping people with mortgages but ignore the hugely increased numbers who have private rentals. The omissions and unintended outcomes are obvious as I'm listening to the bulletins and the press pick up on them instantly. Perhaps we need a National Unity Government to take over.
On a lighter note, I was amused at the Foreign Affairs exchange when Dominic Raab was asked what he was doing about British people stuck in Lima. His response was to say that he was working to get people out of the Philippines ASAP. Maybe when he's isolated at home he should catch up on watching Paddington!
Aside from a boost to morale, I think there are some things we need to do for very practical reasons. Being indoors a lot with heating on isn't good for skin so I'm being meticulous with moisturising. Then there's all the handwashing which can really dry the skin. I'm trying to use a proper bar of soap as I find that more effective than the sanitisers or even the handwash gels. After drying I'm using lashes of handcream. Added to that, I'm determined not to become a couch potato. As well as regular walks I'm going to try and keep active indoors as well. I'm determined to do some more decluttering!

I called up my MH service yesterday and the man I spoke to said they were still open but that he didn't know how long for as a nearby building is being cleaned/disinfected. I think I will cancel as my psychologist appointment tomorrow is during the afternoon school run and I will not be able to stay away from people on the walk there. There are always lots of kids hanging around near the shops as I'm near a few schools and it is really busy at that time. Hopefully she can call me instead or just postpone the CBT.
My husband had to check that his cancer treatment a couple of years ago didn't mean that he was in a at risk group. The out of hours GP he spoke to said that he wasn't so he still needs to go to work on London Underground.
The only thing I definitely need to do outside the house is pick up a prescription tomorrow so I will go at a time that I hope won't be too busy.
I only wear foundation, eyeshadow and lip balm when I'm inside the house. I don't know why.
I have been rearranging things in my house as I am going a bit stir crazy already. I am about to have a bath and shave my legs. I am going to read some of my new book, catch up with some YouTubers and read one of my magazines this afternoon.
I think I need to start doing some exercise at home as well!3 -
I’ve just been told that my work are going to announce that we are closed until 20th April, so I will be working from home until then.
wednesday My observation of being in central London yesterday is that it is like a ghost town. Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of people about, but I was able to keep a distance away from others for the most part.

I just arranged a phone CBT session with my psychologist for tomorrow as I explained I was trying to limit social contact because of my husband's job on the underground.
I got a letter this morning saying my next psychiatrist appointment is in 3 months so that is okay. I wonder what the situation with the virus will be like in 3 months time?!2025 GOALS

I've read in several papers, that it could take 18 months for things to get back to normal!
I've finally got my Neuro appointment for the end of June, but wouldn't be shocked if it gets cancelled"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

It is so difficult to best guess chanie. I did hear Chris Whitty ( Chief Medical Officer) say that a kick about in the park was acceptable so maybe that could be an option for DS's birthday? I think church services (except weddings and funerals) are cancelled though and who knows when holidays/flights will restart. 🤔

I have been thinking about all the local businesses that are going to be affected during the isolation - beauty salons, sports clubs, cafes, theatres etc. All of those poor business owners, who still have bills to pay and no customers. I feel helpless for them at the moment. On a lighter note, my 15 year old nephew was delighted to hear that school is closing..... until my sister pointed out that she is a key worker and so he could still be sent to school (provisions are being made for key workers and vulnerable children). We have all been teasing him via the family WhatsApp group....3

Will your DH be at home more when they cut back on TfL Wednesday?
We did have some good news yesterday. DD1 was due to leave her job shortly (has to give 2 months notice so no knowledge of coronavirus at the time). Yesterday her employer suggested that she retract her notice and stay on for the foreseeable. She's a key worker too (probably be doing a mixture of at home and in work).
DH and I had another lovely walk yesterday. We went to the edge of the New Forest for some exercise and fresh air (more heathland than woods in that part) and we stopped by at the church where Florence Nightingale is buried. We only saw one person walking a dog (who called a cheery Good Afternoon) so our social distancing is working. I think it's important to put a variety of activities into each day.
Keep safe all.
