Hello Ladies,
I am still feeling very unwell. Obviously I have some form of virus, but as I was not offered a test, I do not know if it is coronavirus. I decided from Wednesday morning to err on the side of caution and self isolate. Just common sense for myself and my family, never mind the wider community. Silver lining is that I am reading more and watching lots of Sky Witness programmes on catch up services. I am also watching lots of recorded programmes.
I have had to cancel my social plans until I am completely symptom free. I was going to start free African drumming lessons today, visit my older daughter and son-in-law tomorrow and go to a party on Sunday. Hopefully by next weekend I will be able to stop the self isolation but whether it will be sensible to resume my busy social life will have to be considered in light of the progression of coronavirus in Lambeth.
LL congratulations in making such great strides with your kitchen and coming in under budget with the decorator. I hope you find the perfect kitchen island.

I use borrow box app linked with the local library and it is great with audio books and ebooks. It is free and great selection.
I'm honestly scared about the virus as it will take a toll on health services and long term consequences are unknown.4 -

I haven't cancelled any social plans yet, just keeping an open mind for now but I think it will probably be necessary to curtail my movements within the next couple of weeks. Have bought paint and diy materials, some shrubs and bulbs for the garden. Assuming I'm well enough My silver lining will be having the time to get to grips with the house and garden. I have recorded lots of films and tv programmes and there's loads of stuff on Netflix. Plenty of books to read, paperwork to sort out, photos to go through, finish my memoirs.....😂.
Like you say, SFT, this virus is very much an unknown quantity but I think we can safely assume that life will be quite different in the weeks and months ahead. Our movements and freedoms are likely to be restricted for a while. Hopefully a little pragmatic forward planning will help make the inevitable lock downs and isolation more bearable,5 -
If anyone needs a few books, I recommend Amazon kindle unlimited. It's £7.99, n you can have up to 10 books at a time .
I love it, as it saves me cluttering the place up, with yet more books too:)

My show today got postponed rather than cancelled so we didn't want to shell out more money for the dogs at the vet in case they reschedule it soon.
We are just going to relax at home today and watch a film and get a takeaway, maybe. I'm wondering if it is safe to get a takeaway now, actually!
It seems like everything is suddenly getting cancelled. I had another concert this Wednesday at a much smaller venue but it looks like all mass gatherings might be banned next week.
Oh well, I'm about to have a bath with rose oil, defuzz and then go for a walk. I need to buy loo roll as I had a hard time getting a grocery delivery as people must be panic buying. Local shops should be fine!

This government cherry picking who they test for coronavirus, is not giving the UK population a clear picture of how widespread coronavirus is in the UK. So in spite of my existing medical conditions which leave me with a compromised immune system and medically vulnerable to colds and flu, let alone coronavirus, I am not offered any medical treatment and no one is concerned enough about my health to test me to ensure that I do not have coronavirus.
I phoned NHS 111 this morning, as I have new symptoms today of lightheadedness, nausea and aches and pains all over my body and pains in both ears. Their simple advice was to continue to self isolate, keep doing what I was doing in terms of self medicating and taking hygiene measures. If I get worse, I can call back.
Since my 1st bout of coughing late Tuesday night, I have had a fever, chills, goosebumps, constant stomach pains which I only have any relief from when I am asleep, I had diarrhoea throughout Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but had a solid stool early this morning. I have had headaches, lack of energy resulting in extreme fatigue and I have had trouble sleeping each night as the hacking cough I had was so violent that it was enough to wake me up and I was having trouble getting back to sleep.. I normally have 8-10 hours sleep each night, but I have had as little as 3.5 to 6 hours sleep through this illness.
I am thankful, that my chest and throat are not so painful today and the hacking cough has calmed down but I am sure that I am not simply suffering from a cold or the flu.

I had fibromyalgia a couple of years ago (or even less?) and I regularly got a very high temperature with a cough and body pain. I went to an out of hours doctor one time and I had a 103 temperature and he almost fell off his chair as I looked normal and had even walked to the appointment on foot. I wouldn't necessarily have known the difference between that and the real flu or a very heavy cold or coronavirus back then.
I hope you feel better soon. It must be worrying but it sounds like you are taking all the right precautions.x

So sorry you're feeling so unwell sugarbaby. I can totally understand why you're worried when you have so many underlying conditions as well as the symptoms you have now.
I'm perplexed as to why our government is interpreting the evidence about coronavirus differently from any other country in the world. I want more transparency and information. What do we know that no one else does? It feels like a gamble.
I went out earlier to Home Bargains. I always keep a good store cupboard but I suppose I am doing a bit extra. It was quite manic with queues down the aisles for the checkouts.
I'm pleased we have this thread and our group of virtual friends so that we can discuss things. Other than my holiday this week (which was because of Flybe not coronavirus) nothing has been cancelled yet other than the football. I've got 3 events coming up plus my dancing classes in the next fortnight. I'm sort of expecting cancellations but we'll see what happens. If I do have to stay at home I have plenty to do and I might consider a subscription to Netflix. 😁
Thinking of you all., 😊6 -
Maman I agree with your comment about the way in which the government is interpreting the evidence. Even if it is possibly the best course of action, objectively, they aren’t taking people feelings and behaviours into account. People are panicking because they don’t feel the government is in control of the situation. Driving past the retail parks today, the car parks are empty but the supermarket car parks are packed. I wanted to avoid stockpiling but as shops are running out of stock, if I don’t buy a couple of extra items, I don’t know when I will next be able to.
sugar hope you feel better soon. Your organisation throughout the year will help get through this time.7
