Hi all,
Maman - good to 'see' you again. Yup, still do the photography, though not as much as I'd like at the moment.
sugarbaby - that sounds like a lovely night out. I do enjoy a bit of karaoke
Still sticking with the diet/healthy eating - managed to resist cake at work today, which is an amazing feat for me :rotfl:
Need to rehaul my skincare routine so am reading all your recommendations with interest. I suppose I'm quite lucky that I don't really have any skin 'issues' persay but it's def looking a bit dull lately - I guess the winter weather isn't helping - and could do with something to give it a bit of a boost.4 -
I am off to a dinner and dance in three weeks. No chance of fitting into any of my dresses. Have started a healthy eating kick which has been going OK, and have bought a cheap dress and some sparkly heels to wear. Am (by coincidence) getting my hair done two days before, and have a bit of money to get a chunky necklace.
Skincare routine still going, and I am going to try to grow my nails a bit. (I Hve bitten them all my life, so not holding out a lot of hope for this)Debt free Feb 2021 🎉5 -
Good morning lovely ladies
Not much news - just wanted to say hello to Killielila and hello again to Podperson.. Welcome and good to see you both.
All is good here. I have been busy prepping the kitchen for the decorator, filling in cracks and holes etc, to the walls and those wretched ceiling beams. :rotfl:
My neck now aches but it's done, so now time to sort myself out. The decorator can do the rest. So some nice long baths, some stretches and I've booked a massage for Monday. Hopefully back to the yoga today. Also going to give myself a skin peel today.
PP I think that exfoliation is the way to brighten up your skin and give it a nice refresh, helps get rid of the dead skin cells that are lying in the surface if the skin and which can give that grey winter pallor. You could also give yourself regular facial massages. It really does help stimulate blood flow to the surface of the skin and speed up cell renewal.
I too look a bit "peely wally" (pale and interesting) at the moment hence the skin peel today. I think a lot of us start to look a bit washed out at tail end of winter. But a bit of TLC can work wonders.
I use A Boots No 7 skin peel kit. It's glycolic acid, very gentle and perfectly safe for home use. If you want something stronger then I suggest you stick to a proper salon treatment until you know what you are doing.
A clay face mask will also help, it gives a good deep clean and makes sure the pores aren't clogged). But not at the same time as the skin peel - allow a good 48 hours between treatments.
Lots of water to flush out the system and keep your skin plumped up.
And of course a nice walk in the crisp winter air will bring the roses to your cheeks.
And if not....well that's what blusher is for. :rotfl:
Have a great day y'all.6 -

Glad you decided to buy a new dress, even if it's only cheap and cheerful. Better to get one that fits nicely and flatters a bit rather than try and squeeze yourself into one that's too small. You would only have felt self conscious.
The sparkly heels sound great and of course they will still fit even when you have lost weight. As will the new necklace.
Don't give up, just stick to it and you will get there. Look how long it took me. :rotfl: I still want to lose another stone and I will do it, even if it takes me all of this year. Hopefully it won't but I am not giving up now. I've come this far and I won't stop until I reach my goal.
It's not over till the slim lady sings....:rotfl:
Ruined my red jumper I was wearing yesterday, got expanding foam all over it....:rotfl: luckily it wasn't a new one so not a total disaster. I did rather like it though, always made me feel bright and cheerful when I wore it.6 -
Yay - welcome back to the new forum.7

Ooh, shiny new forum!Drawingaline - I think it's always better to have something that fits you nicely, even if it's a size bigger and I do love a sparkly heel
Am sure you will look lovely!
LL - I do have a St Ives scrub that I use once or twice a week but never tried a skin peel, might have a look into. Have started using my serum again so will see if that starts to make a difference. Shame about your jumper, I do think bright colours are nice in winter to give a little boost. Gives you an excuse to buy another one though?I've actually lost 5lbs this week so am feeling very happy with that! Good start but I have a looooong way to go lol. Am also away next week so while I'm going to have a few 'treats' then need to not go too mad and ruin all the good work. Going to London to the Secret Cinema event - this one is Stranger Things so all 80s themed. Still got a few last min outfits bits to sort out this weekend but should be fun. Then stopping to see my folks for a few days on the way back, which is always havoc on my eating - mum's can't help trying to feed you up right??Anyway hope everyone else is having a good start to the weekend x7 -

A couple of people I know went to that Stranger Things cinema thing the other day and really loved it.4 -
Hello Ladies,
I went to my older daughter's home in Andover to celebrate my son-in-law's 48th birthday. I had a great family visit with my older daughter, her husband, my older son and his 2 daughters.
In the evening: I went to Karaoke. I made a real effort to look glamorous. My daughter noticed I was wearing make up and that I had made an effort with my outfit. Then she said, 'that bra makes you look booby'She made me laugh out loud. I danced away the night in the pub. I had to do at least half of my dancing sitting down, but I had a great night. I met up with a friend and her partner at the pub but I did not have time to sit around talking to her, as I wanted to dance so much.
I saw Wayne in the pub. We talked and danced together. We had not spoken to each other for 6 months. He gave me a lift home in his car at the end of the night. Much better than me having to wait for 2 night buses in the cold and wind.

Despite the hideous weather I went into the city centre today as I had something I needed to return. While I was there, I bought myself a new dress in Zara . As it was so quiet I had my eyebrows done too.
I'll do links to the dress when I'm on my desktop. Not sure if it's a keeper yet as I haven't tried it on.
