  • I liked your poem Sugarbaby. It was quite poignant.xx

I have a to-do list as long as my arm this week.

I am wearing my "new" Oasis green jumper from the charity shop over my usual black maxi dress. That dress needs to be replaced soon as I have had it for about 5 years and it is looking it's age!

I asked my husband if he liked my jumper and he said he did and said it was very figure hugging, lol. he said "Is that one of the colours you are supposed to wear?" and it was. Emerald green.:D

I have cleaned all the curtains, ordered the shopping and booked in the gutter cleaning.

I am off to have a bath and then I need to clean the bathroom.

    Hello Ladies,

Thank you Maman, Wednesday and LL for your kind words about my poem. :D

This year I am going to write as much as time and creativity will allow, as I would like to have a large body of new poems and short stories.

I am still having issues with my wisdom teeth, but hope to have the issues resolved in the near future. :(

I managed to save a total of £735 this month to add to my savings account. :j I have got off to a good start in 2020 but I will be saving until May 2021 as I would like to go on holiday next year and I will also be hosting a party to celebrate my younger son's 21st birthday and his graduation. :D My goal is to save at least £400 each month from February 2020 until May 2021. :D

I made a tinned salmon, tomato and wholemeal pasta bake with yellow pepper, onion, mixed herbs and freshly ground black pepper yesterday. It was large enough for 6 individual portions. It was so worth the time and effort to make it and it was economical as all of the ingredients were in the cupboard or fridge in my kitchen. :D

I will be doing more home cooking throughout this year. It will mean that I will be eating healthier, tastier meals while saving money. I tend to bulk cook, as it does not make sense to cook from scratch for just my daughter and I for a single meal. It is lovely to eat my own home cooked meals and to have the convenience of just reheating meals quickly in the microwave when we want a meal for lunch or dinner.

I am losing weight so slowly compared to how quickly I gained the weight, but I have to persevere as I am not happy with my blood pressure being high any more and need to do what I can to help myself.

    Hi all,

I'm sneaking back in again as really need to kick my butt into gear this year. Jan has been a bit of a write-off as a combination of stressed, tired and ill has just made me eat nothing but junk food and live in fuzzy jumpers. I am determined to up the fabbing ante this month though!

Have started on more healthy eating by doing a restriction/detox week to try and clear out all the rubbish and am already feeling much better for it. Also trying to plan my outfits in advance rather than grabbing the first thing I see, and have done my nails last night (got a multi-pack of blues and greens on sale, not my usual colours but they are pretty and have multi-coloured them lol).

Hope everyone else is doing well. This thread is always super inspiring x

I'm still reading along and keeping up to date with everyone's fabbing. I've finally gave myself a really good talking to and kick up the backside and I feel decidedly better! Although, I'm stressed to the max for the next few weeks. I've a really big project on at work and receiving very little support. I keep repeating my mantra 'It too shall pass' :D

Has anyone tried Clarins double serum? It's really expensive but I managed to pick up a couple of sample sachets from Debenhams yesterday so will give it a go over the next few days. My skin loves Clarins products but my purse screams at the prices!

Back on the SW wagon and think that's really helped my mood too. Weight is coming off very, very slowly but I feel so much better.

Hi pod. Good to see you posting. Are you still doing your photography?:)

I love the Clarins serum jellybaby. I sometimes pick it up a bit more cheaply in duty free or with some 'free' gifts in gift packs. The next lot should be out for Mothers Day. To keep the cost down i only use the Clarins when I need to go out in the morning. Other days I use flaxseed oil instead. It's just as effective but it doesn't smell so good and you have to wait longer for it to soak in before using moisturiser and eye cream. :)

Your ability to budget and save is amazing sugarbaby . :T

    Hello Ladies,

Thank you Maman, I am always trying to stick to my own financial budget so that I can save for the big personal events. I still make sure that I am having fun while I am saving though. :D

I am going to Tropix restaurant in Clapham tonight with my daughter (Groupon purchase of course) tonight, then I am going to Karaoke :D

    Hi fabbers,

I have noticed a decent improvement in my skin, since I have been using The Ordinary skincare. There is still room for improvement, so I’m going to tweak my routine and I have bought a new product to try. I was told by the Sales Assiatant that I could return the product within a year, if it wasn’t suitable. That’s a really generous returns policy and it gives me plenty of time to try the product.
I have booked a microdermabrasion treatment for Thursday, as my Christmas present. I’ve only ever had regular facials, which, although were relaxing, didn’t really improve my skin. I’m looking forward to trying something with a bit of a ‘kick’ to it. I can also see courses of treatments on groupon, so if it works, I may consider buying a course.

I also bought some new joggers this week. These are much more flattering than the ones they replaced. They are supposed to be 7/8th length, but as I’m 7/8the the height of most people (5ft), so they fit like regular length joggers.

The only other thing I need to do is to get my roots done, so I must text my hairdresser.

I’m a big Double Serum fan, it makes a huge difference to my skin, if you use the correct amount the large bottle last a long time, I tend to buy two large bottles a year, so much better value, and like Maman buy duty free or save my Boots points up. I tend to buy the Christmas gift set as soon as it comes out from Boots and my summer one duty free.

    Hello Ladies,

I had a lovely 2 course meal with a cocktail with my daughter last night in Tropix restaurant in Clapham. It was our 1st visit to this particular restaurant, but we really enjoyed the ambience and the d!cor. We had delicious meals with great cocktails. :D

I had a Groupon which cost me £22.10 which saved me £44.80 on the menu pries. :T

I had a starter of jalapeno chicken wings and my daughter had chicken fries with a spicy dip. My main meal was Barbecue jerk chicken, coconut rice and plantain and my daughter had King prawn curry with coconut rice. My cocktail was a pink spritz and my daughter had a strawberry mojito. We were talking to each other between courses and having a laugh with each other as we enjoyed our food and cocktails. :D

I went to Karaoke after having my meal and was surprised at just how many singers there were when I arrived. It made for a great vibe and I was fortunate to sing 3 songs as there were so many other singers present. :D

I decided to wear a purple sleeveless top with Grecian draping by Coast and I wore a deeper purple skirt with a black cardigan and my Van Dal black leather ankle boots. I wore QVC purple sandstone drop heart earrings with solid silver fastening with the matching large purple sandstone pendant on a solid silver chain. I wore a solid silver and diamonique ring with my Ingersoll stainless steel and diamond watch. I was carrying my purple leather bag with black patent leather clasp. I wore a deep pink lipstick but no other make up, yet my daughter noticed and really approved of the difference that the lipstick made. :D
