Wednesday i have occasionally browsed that blog over the years and have a binge read. What I like about Audreys blog is that she isn’t high fashion, has a ‘normal’ body shape and she she’s lots of different ways to style clothes, which you can adapt.
She has down a couple of posts about fit and proportions which are useful.
lessons it’s so hard to find a good hairdresser isn’t it? My current hairdresser is brilliant as she will give me advice and suggest colours etc. None of the other hairdressers I have been to would give advice, even when I’ve asked.

I did read her blog before but clearly the info didn't go in properly. I think this might have been when I weighed at my highest when I had fibro and I didn't have the confidence I have now.
I think looking at the YT videos of women who are older than I am but look fantastic has made me think what am I waiting for? I'm only 44 and there are so many stylish women who are older and dress their best.5 -
I look at the youtube videos ofMarie-Anne Lecoeur https://www.youtube.com/user/marieannelecoeur

I find the age of the person less important but good style is ageless.
My issue is that I need to edit my wardrobe of leftovers, hand me downs that do not fit well. I have a few jackets that don't fit well on the shoulder and nothing will ever fix them. I have to be honest with myself and keep only what suits my shoulder width and body shape.
I am terrible for outfit planning- my outfits can be really good or looking like I'm dressed like someone who ran through a hedge backward. I have to start proactively outfit planning to have better days.7 -
Good Morning lovely ladies.Sounds like there's going to be some serious wardrobe editing going on......😂SFT. It's good that you can be objective about what suits you. Half the battle.A friend came round yesterday (we socially distanced😂). In fact we sat out in the garden for most of her visit. She is tall, lean and athletic, sort of "rangy". She would look ridiculous in "girly" clothes. She always dresses very simply - yesterday black leggings and a rust coloured fine knit tunic length sweater. She looked fabulous. I think it's really important to work with your shape, height, colouring etc.
Well today is the first proper day of my lockdown....although I shall be getting my flu jab. The surgery have changed their plans, no longer doing a "drive through" but actually in the surgery, operating a one way system.I got another insect bite the other day, I assume a mozzie bite. I had a really bad reaction, my hand swelled up like a balloon which makes me wonder if my immune system is a bit compromised so, although I'm wary of flu jabs, I think it's for the best to have one this time around.I honestly think that all this isolating isn't good for our immune systems and that we need to be out and about subjecting ourselves to the usual germs and bugs to keep our systems functioning properly. Hey ho.....you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.Time to reassess my vitamins, start taking Vit C and D. I would imagine this is probably the last weekend of warm sunshine so I'll start now.Have a great weekend y'all.8 -
Hello Ladies,
I had my flu jab at my Doctor's surgery yesterday morning. The site of the injection is a bit sore, but it does not affect me otherwise. 2 weeks later the vaccine will offer me protection. I am glad I was offered a flu jab sooner rather than later, now that Covid-19 infections are out of control in England.
London is now on the watchlist.
It is looking more and more likely that a new England wide lockdown is on the way which will be a catastrophic for so many households, small businesses and the economy.
I have been stocking up even more this weekend, as if we have a very cold winter, I want to be prepared in every way possible. I already have lots of tinned food, food seasonings, packets of microwave rice, large bag of basmati rice and packets of wholemeal pasta.

We are going on lockdown again, so fed up now. When will it end?
5 -
Sheila.....sorry to hear that. I don't know when it will end, we're not over it yet, not by a long way. Derby's figures went up by a 1/3 in 3 days, admittedly from a below the average baseline so still technically ok but still it shows that cases are rising fast. That second wave is here.SUgarbaby.....very wise to make preparations for winter. It's going to be hard going over the next few months. Harder for some than others. So many jobs are going to be lost and a lot of people are going to struggle with finances.2020 started with such high hopes, a new decade, so exciting......not turned out too well has it, 😥
I have just done a 30 minute cardio workout. Really didn't want to And had to really force myself. But I have to say I do feel the benefit afterwards. Will do some tai chi later. This is going to be part of my plan during my lockdown. Daily exercise 30 minute cardio and 30 Stretching, Plus a daily walk weather permitting.I am determined that I am not going to be a sofa sloth and sit around feeling sorry for myself. We need to care of ourselves, now more than ever......lots of Fabbing, healthy eating, exercise, fresh air when we can, and keeping our minds busy with hobbies, reading, arts and crafts, little projects, just doing things we enjoy to keep our spirits lifted.Time for brunch, a bit of tidying and then flu jab.6 -
Saving - Audrey Coyne is someone who comes up on YouTube for me. I will look at those other links, thanks.
I just had a walk out to the same charity shop I went to the other day. I got a black jacket, a black long sleeve top with a heart on it, a Madonna t-shirt, a diamante hand bag mirror and a burgundy bag with a gold strap. I also got 5 beige/white tops that I am dyeing pink now.
I did see a nice Oasis trench coat but it looked too small and you aren't allowed to try on clothes.
I did the same walk but it only said I did 7,000 steps and the other day it said 9,000. Annoying!2025 GOALS

Got my flu jab this morning. Very efficient system, one lady on the door checking you in and making sure you wear a mask use hand sanitiser then through to the corridor with treatment rooms and another lady directing you to the next free nurse, they took your name and marked you off on computer, we were told to go with short sleeves so it was just jab the needle in and out you went through the new doors to the car park, they have knocked the windows out and the wall under them and installed doors so it was very quick. My arm hurts just a bit in a small area where the needle went in but otherwise all good. We arrived 5 minutes before our appointment time and made our way slowly to the door and were out again before our appointment time.
Preparing for cabin fever we decided to have a little drive and went to Totnes, if you don't know it it is a small town on the river Dart, famous as a hippy town. I felt a bit depressed as I haven't been there for a year and some of the shops have gone and others are very changed. We had a cream tea, the river looked beautiful and I bought some sweets at Cranchs a traditional sweetshop with one wall being shelves full of old fashioned jars of sweets and the opposite wall being bars of chocolate and packets of sweets. At the back of the shop there is a glass case which normally has expensive chocolates that you buy one by one and you can have a little bag or get them in a fancy box. Alas that cabinet is empty and you only have a small space at the front of the shop so you can't browse. The sweets are nice though.
Yesterday we had a new loo fitted, the old one was being temperamental and I had visions of us in lockdown with no functioning loo so I decided to get it done. Well a functioning loo is sort of important isn't it.
I think I'll actually feel better if they do announce a lockdown, I have this feeling of dread about it but I know I'll be fine if it happens. I know we are lucky, in our area the rate is 1 in 100,000, it went up a bit when all the visitors were here in July/August to about 7 in 100,000 which felt bad to us but I know for much of the country that would be very good. I really thought we would go higher and take longer to come down again after the visitors so that was good. There are still holiday makers around but not terribly busy and I have to say apart from gangs of teenagers on the beach some nights everyone seems to be following the rules. The teenagers are local, not visitors and I think they all had a bit of a head loss when school/college went back but seem to be settling down.
Hope everyone is well.5
