Good Mornjng lovely ladiesSavingmore Thanks for the tips re courses. I did look at the FutureLearn website. It looks interesting, they seem to have some good short courses. How often you can use face scrubs will depend on how strong it is and your skin type. I would imagine the Tesco one is probably fairly mild and could be used regularly. Aloe Vera is very good for skin and very soothing. I would suggest you start with twice a week, then adjust as necessary. Your skin will tell you. 😉. Well done with your weight loss, fantastic!Looks like another nice day.....
Getting my hair cut this afternoon, will pop into Superdrug and get a few bits. Maybe a little mooch round the chazzers. I've not been into the city centre for a while. It will be nice to have a stroll round in the warm sunshine. I might even manage to visit a cafe and sit outside.I meant to say I am going to restart making some lotions and potions. I thought lockdown would be a good opportunity. Yesterday I bought some Grapeseed oil. I use this as a carrier oil. I have a good stock of essential oils, bottles etc. so I have all I need. I am also going to have a go at recycyling candle wax....I have loads. I also picked up a beginners soap making kit a little while ago.So plenty to go at. I think I will be able to keep busy. 😁8 -
Free2, I've been to The Range twice this week, hired the carpet shampooer from them and obviously returned it. I find it a good shop for a bit of a mooch. I often get bits for the GC in there, during lockdown I sent them the occasional parcel with books, games, coloured pencils. I hope it brightened a day for them.
I have a couple of hours paid work this morning so trying to motivate myself. I've actually been busy with work, my speciality is HR and it is challenging times so lots of issues going on and I can help small businesses who don't have their own HR dept. The only problem is I get to deal with disciplinaries and of course that sometimes leads to dismissal so it isn't all fun and giggles.
I think I've hit the wall with sorting things out, I have to wait a week for the bulk waste collection and I hope when all that is gone it will give me a lift. I need to buy some new bedding and a new bedside rug but haven't motivated myself to do that. Motivation is the big issues, I pass M&S to go to the job I'm doing today so I will probably stop off and buy something nice to eat, they do some nice bread and I particularly like one with lots of different grains, can't think what it is called but it is nice. I thought I'd put 3 or 4 lbs on in lockdown as my tightest trousers were getting a bit too tight, well I'm wearing them now and they are fine. Funny what a weeks hard labour can do, I haven't managed to control what I eat as I have been eating normally but as long as the size 10s fit I'm not going to worry. I do eat too much sweet stuff but I also eat lots of fruit and veg and hardly any red meat so hopefully I'll be OK. Actually thinking about it I probably have eating fewer snacks as I have been so busy, sitting down relaxing is much more likely to result in a cuppa and a slice of cake.
Have a nice day everyone, hoping my day isn't going to be too traumatic.6 -
I can't remember the name of the mindfulness course, sorry to whoever asked me. There are loads of free mindfulness exercises on YouTube.
I am doing two or three 10 minute meditations every morning now. One is a body scan that my psychologist recorded for me. She has a lovely accent and voice. Then I do a chakra one (I found on YT) and I wanted to find a third one I liked. It's meant to be best to do mindfulness in the morning as your brain is very relaxed at that time.
I just had a lovely long shower and did a hair treatment and moisturised my body afterwards. I'm not doing my makeup until later as I have my Zoom appointment.
I was looking at street style generally along with YT videos and it does seem like a lot of women have a basic uniform of black or blue skinny jeans, a white or striped longer (a shell I think it is called) top and then a black jacket on top. I think I need to get some jeans too.5 -
Oh, my Zoom session is off as my therapist is unwell. After I did my hair treatment to impress her, lol.
That was what the woman dressing over 50 women was saying on YouTube yesterday. She was saying how older women should dress as younger women do but just with a few tweaks. She was saying how white trainers make you look more youthful and so was another women who styles women over 45. I don't know. I would feel I was trying to look young...
I am about to look on Pinterest for Autumn 2020 street style.
LL - and anyone else, if you want to waste some time Pinterest is excellent as you can look up anything you like on there, fashion, recipes, skin care, random facts etc...
I have read other women say how addictive it can be to go on there.2025 GOALS

Free + maman the trouble is I like my wine too:) and thanks maman I do sometimes have a nosey on the SW thread, I can easily shift 4-6 lbs if I really put my mind to it. (that's the problem isn't it ?)
Anyway beautiful day here wandered into town and had a look in Asda but unfortunately not many leggings so may have to look online. Sheila your step count is amazing, I quite often 10-11000 steps a day but 21000 !!!! Will definitely be around 12,000 today as I'm meeting a friend this afternoon for a cuppa.
Did anyone watch Des? the story of Dennis Nilsen, David Tennant was incredible, not an easy watch but I found it gripping.
Well better go and make myself a 'healthy' lunch , probably a chicken salad.

Your weekend away sounds like great fun saving more. What a brilliant idea.😊
I often dress (accidentally) exactly the same as my DD Wednesday. There's a 'uniform' of trousers, top, trainers that can look right on any age. I think you have to be careful though because sometimes just small things can make it frumpy IMO. Such as trousers that are just a bit too short or in horrid fabric (M&S Classic??😁) or a top with too much embellishment for daytime or slogans (sorry, pet hate😉) or shows too much flesh.
Did anyone see the photo that Jane Seymour tweeted for the Day Of Encouragement?

It is a natural photo, not airbrushed, but, out of curiosity, I tried posing like that myself this morning. I looked amazing!🤣 The secret is to look up and stretch your arms up so that any double chins, neck wrinkles, bingo wings or other flaws magically disappear!🤣
The Range is a strange shop pixie. It's on my list of shops I go to every few months for a browse when I have time and I'm in that part of the city. I find Home Bargains, B&M, The Range, Dunelm, Wilkos, TK Maxx, many £ shops and other than my usual supermarkets fit into that category. They're places that I stock up on certain things but don't need to go to regularly. I find you have to search for the hidden gems IYSWIM. Many of my lampshades came from The Range and they do good mirrors and some good fabrics especially vinyl table covers. I also like a quick browse around their kitchen stuff as they often have a better range of bowls and things.
A new bottle of Clarins serum came today. I ordered it online for the first time (usually buy it in Duty Free😢). I saved £18! The box is a bit creased but that could have happened in transit and I'm not bothered. I'm still using the flaxseed oil as a serum on a regular basis but I find that takes time to soak in before I use my moisturiser so I don't use it unless I'm staying indoors or going out later in the day. 😊

I’ve had a busy morning. Took the kitten to the vets for his first injections and microchip, then to the tip. I popped into a few shops on my way home (including The Range) and I’ve just mowed the lawn. I’m just having a break before I finish the garden.6

Maman - it must be good to have a daughter that you can see their style.
How old is your DD?
I have been reading about style tips today on a few blogs. I think I need to break out of my navy dress obsession and start being a bit more fashionable.I'm about to watch a YT tutorial that is about how to make wearing leggings look chic. It is a woman called Erin Busbee if anyone is interested.
I don't know what I would have done without YouTube the past few months. There is so much interesting content on there.

Most things work on all ages with tweaks. The obvious exception being clubbing clothes.
I thing the beige, grays are lovely on walls but not on people.
I love patterns but realized that they are better as cushions than clothing.
We have to remember what suits us and what is interior design.
