Step 1 : unearth WM  2 bags of presents added to the stack already in LR; DS has de-trashed his car and his bedroom at some point over the festive season - 4 bags put to one side to be sorted and recycled: mostly drinks cans and plastic bottles; WM appears
Step 2 : make mental note to unpack DS's overnight bag to add to loads; unload laundry hamper and sort in to loads and loads and loads ; set WM swishing with 1st load.
Step 3 :  unpack DS's overnight bag and get over the fact that some of it should have gone in with the first load
Rinsed some cans for recycling while kettle boiled and bread toasted.
Make note to self that Christmas / New Year / paid stuff hokey kokey is not an excuse to do nothing. At all. For two weeks.
Hoping to quickly adapt to three days at home, four days at the paid stuff. Also hoping that less money is vastly outweighed by an improved work/life balance. being less tired and having more spoons for flying
Better get washed and dressed next. Birds need feeding and don't want to scare the neighbours' children by going out in my nightie with cockatoo hair :rotfl:

Morning all
WM x2; DW x 1. I too am hoping to peg out so 1 load included a duvet cover as they get balled up in the TD.
Also want to clean out bunnies, wash car and check levels.
Suppose actually getting up would be a good idea!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -

Pigpen I sympathise about the finances. DH has had a month off unpaid and we weren't exactly well off before then.
Round I had to take my Dad into Hull a while back and found it a really confusing place to drive around (but that might just be me!).
I have a day at home today. DH is visiting with DSs GF, I went yesterday. I am under strict instructions to get some rest today but I cant sit still so I am gently pottering, getting up to date on some laundry and doing a bit of tidying of the last few bits of Christmas stuff.
Need to look at finances and should really try and get DHs tax return done, I am normally much more organised than this with it!0 -
HHI done.
Bathroom cleaned.
Hall, stairs and landing vacuumed.
DH is doing a “10 minute plumbing job”. It’s now been 2 hours... no sign of the previously functioning en-suite being usable again yet. **sigh**.
I’m having a restorative cuppa then seeing if I feel like rediscovering the utility room.0 -

YL - DS was at Uni in Hull and I learned my way to and from his 'digs' each year. I can find my way home from GF's house - but that's because I can follow the signs for the Humber BridgeI'd like to become more confident driving in Hull as they often have good acts on at the Arena or the Theatre but I find it confusing and there is a weird 'square' roundabout that I really don't like.
I think 'gently pottering' is allowed if you are antsy. Hugs xx
2nd WM load now draped on airer
DS has been down for toast :T and taken up a couple of books he was given for Christmas - every little helps

Hello flyfriends!
Not done too much today, except the kitchen. I've got a high-maintenance Weimeraner here, who keeps needing attention, plus a JRT who is being a bit barky so just pottering around until DH gets back from his lads' night out in Liverpool. I have spoken to him and they are all accounted for, if not feeling very well (I have a feeling the new guy was initiated somehow )
Disappointed that I caved under the pressure yesterday and had several G&Ts, despite me attempting Dry January...not needed but enjoyed.
I'm mid-way finishing the decorating and snagging in the dining room, so the house smells like a cricket pavillion due to the quantity of linseed oil applied to all the beams and exposed timbers. Stupid dogs keep trying to lick it off - apparently it's nice! Still lots to do, but I think I'll repaint the wall I repaired blown plaster on 48 hours ago. Lime plaster with cork....not easy to work with...but it has dried quickly and looks reasonable, so I'm pleased.
I do need a brief nap though as didn't have a great night's sleep with DH bring away...;)0 -
Gosh, you're all so busy.
We have taken decorations down and they're back in the loft, done dailies, two loads of washing done, DH has had hair cut and pedicure and I've done my nails.
Sorting out a roast dinner next and then we've agreed to just relax for the afternoon before the dogs are back.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Tree is down and everything packed away - just needs to be taken upstairs and stashed ready for [STRIKE]next [/STRIKE]this year.
