Well done nimbo, waste not want not.Good idea to make a mask from scraps too.I went to the supermarket today and just marvelled at all the people in masks. If anyone had said that would be the case a year ago,no one would have believed them.
When my knitting spree is over I will get my sewing machine out and make all sorts! I found an almost complete dress when I was looking for the crochet hook.It has been a ufo for at least 2 years.I will also make some masks from material stash. My craft stash in theory should fit in a banana box.Yes I know ,hilarious.I made this rule for myself when we moved to this house 6 years ago.It is now a banana box a massive plastic box,a vanity case,a knitting bag,a basket,a shopping bag and numerous plastic bags. The wool is decreasing,I can now fit the lid on the large plastic box.Tonight I have sorted wool for just 1 more baby blanket.I unravelled the knitted one and have almost finished crocheting it.
Emsi, what christmas things do you want to make? I plan to make a monravian star for my sons GF and maybe some pompom sprouts for her too. I have made these before and they sold like hot cakes at Christmas fairs. When I am at home after my op I might have a look at the 3 kings wall hanging.
Emsi I think buying a towel to cut up will be very MSE. My sons GF wants guests at their wedding next year to have matching face masks. She was looking at fabrics whose price was very expensive,I told her to look at duvet covers for the botanical look she wants and they can be cut up.Soooooo much cheaper.
    Enjoy your weekend nimbo

Vulpix, I have printed out a free pattern for some fabric crowns instead of paper cracker ones, and I've found a "recipe" to make a garland from dried orange slices, so those are top of the list. I also have a quilted table runner, although not sure if that will get done in time!
I printed out some more patterns yesterday too, just need to put them together now 😬 i don't mind it, but it is time consuming! I've just realised whilst typing this I missed one too, oops!
Managed to finish two bibs this weekend 75/52, and cut out two more. I've printed a pattern to make matching shirts too so that will get some more used up, especially as the pyjama pattern I'd planned for it seems wrong, or a bit daft- the clown pants style of trousers don't look like they'll be warm!

Oh what a good idea to make fabric crowns. I have made dried orange and bay leaf garlands in the past but gave them away.I enjoyed making them more than the having them.True of most of my makes. When I worked at school a dinner lady showed me how to make party hats from old Christmas cards. We used to make them for the Class party every year.My family still make them every New Years day from that years cards to wear at dinner! I made a lovely tree skirt a couple of years ago but have a new tree now and it doesnt quite fit.Quandry,do I faff about and alter it or make a new one, hmmmmmmmm.

Best wishes for your hospital trip! My parents have both had their ops and treatment recently, so fingers crossed!
Nothing to report, I have cut out one crown but haven't done the other two, or all the interfacing either.

so I’ve made more face masks. (Yay and boo at the same time).

As well as having drunk sloe gin and mare a tote bag and other bits at the sewing retreat. I didn’t make the dress - but have been busy and enjoyed relaxing.

    Hope everyone is well. Xx

I have a sewing table to put my sewing machine in now. After much swearing as I measured wrong, I managed to get the table to fit only to discover my machine doesn't have an option to drop down. I will need to acquire some brackets, and a few pieces of MDF to get it to sit in both level and at cuff sewing height, as well as an insert to turn it into a cutting table. More than one way to skin a cat, as they say! If it was more than a bit of very thin mdf moulded for the bottom, I would just stack a few bits of wood in, but sadly not!
I am looking forward to the extra flat surface, especially as I've now taken the ironing board down from its permanent position and bought a big woollen mat for pressing on my desk now.
Haven't actually done any sewing whilst I was faffing about trying to get everything to fit though 🤣
