emsi, you are going to a lot of effort for the sewing machine, epic effort in fact.
Knitted a couple of little hats today for Africa. My Mum has also asked if I had any black wool so she can finish a crochet square blanket.result 2 more balls of wool gone. Need to buy a glue stick before I can start the star.Mine had dried out.

The table was my late godmothers, her machines had totally seized so couldn't reasonably keep them. My current machine was my nan's, so it'll all be a nice reminder when it is done! My nan is still with us, I've just only seen her a few times this year because of lockdowns.
I am hoping to get a couple of bits done the next two days- I've got a little toile shirt cut out, and two bibs to do before I need to finish cutting my crowns out.

Im glad you’ve got the table sorted. I love  giving vintage things a new lease on life. It’s lovely not to live in a throw away society.

I’m so glad I got my old machine seen to - my new one is squeaking. It’ll need to be looked at once we’re allowed out again. But with the old one at least I can sew. 😁😁

I have managed to finish off a wall hanging. I did buy some bits for it so kind of cheated and to be frank I never would have made hoas binding. I’m glad I got it finished. I’ve ordered a pole to hang it on. Which did cost - but was necessary.

I have also been foraging for sloes. The experience has made me realise why we pick them in October. 😁 I may have also bought gin. But I don’t have a still.

I’ve also used a few bits up.

I hope you’ve all been staying sane - which seems to be about the best I can manage at the minute.

  • Presently painting an advent calendar, traditional red, green and gold. Hoping it's going to look nice when I've finished, but the garage is not the warmest place! Still plodding on with the blanket.

Hiya, opperation done and am feeling much more perky.Finished another blanket for the African maternity hospital.I think I am done with that for now. I have started cutting out paper pieces for the Monravian star but have decided I dont like the material I bought ages ago.I am stuck at the moment, need fabric, need red and black wool,(I know I just gave a load away) to make a scarf for a request and need coloured felt to make party hats for sprouts. I also gave away all my felt stash earlier this year.I don't enjoy online shopping much so I will have to wait until after lockdown which is cutting it fine  for star, party sprouts and Dennis the mennace for Christmas.I am too much of a skinflint to pay postage for online purchases.
Anyone got any photos of their makes? I love to see what you have been up to.
    Take care Vx

Will try to take a photo of my makes today Vulpix. I spent yesterday afternoon sewing, as I had a half day of leave whilst little man was at nursery! I've assembled a PJ t shirt (needs hemming yet), made 2 bibs as presents (77/52), and started on the crowns. I might have to redo one of them as I've not cut it out very well 🤦‍♀️
I have a bit more leave today so will try to get another PJ t shirt done, and the crowns finished. I also have a shirt cut out to make, and a couple of t shirts to cut out today too (if I get chance).

81/52 3 crowns, and a jazzed up basket. I made it with just fabric for toys, it didn't hold up well, so I added it to the UFO pile for some foam sides. 3 months later, job done! Now holding my quilting stuff as the toys are in an old shopping basket that belonged to my godmother.
Pleased with the crowns- it's a free pattern on Facebook, MBJM sewing group, if anyone wants to do them. A couple of pages to print and stick, but nothing compared to most pdf patterns 😂
Still need to hem the t shirt- thinking of doing the other cut out t shirt, then hemming all in one go. We shall see! I have the t shirts (destined to be PJ tops to go with some leggings I made previously), and a summer shirt to sew up. Then another set of PJs to cut out, and a thick top. I won some fabric in a little competition a new seller was running, so best to plan to use it up straight away!

Great work emsi.Love the crowns idea. You are a sewing dervish, you get so much done. Not easy with a little one.
I have a new phone and can't use it,so it will be ages before I suss it out and be able to post pics.
Well I found some surprise green felt and a few scraps of red and yellow. So I decoupaged an egg box with Christmas paper and made 6 party sprouts and sent them to my future DIL.I also sent her 2 Christmas stockings I started ages ago and some felt miseltoe. She was totally surprised as she was only expecting a couple of mask extenders to save her ears as she has to wear a mask all day at work.
I have started to knit a scarf as I got some yarn from B n M.I have also started the star with some fabric which is supposed to be for 3 kings. Necessity is the mother of invention as they say.
New total 40 some only small things but its all stash used up

Vulpix, I've had a few weeks where I couldn't do anything except a few bits of pattern piecing or cutting out in the evenings, so made the most of a few hours off whilst son was at nursery! Same again today- hemmed two little t shirts for PJs (I hate hemming arms!) so they are all done (83/52), traced 3 patterns, cut out another set of PJs for my son, a t shirt for me, and two replacement arms as the pattern placement on the ones I'd already done was a bit odd. The pattern repeat is upside down reindeer, right side up reindeer, and I managed to cut it so that the upside down ones were the  only ones showing. Oops!
I'm finally seeing a dent in the stash- I think in total I've just added to the stash rather than cut it down this year! I have a few more projects planned, probably for the New Year now (a brand new total next year! I will probably go for a more challenging total- maybe 100!)
