I'd love to join 'No craft spending for 2020'. Looking forward to sorting through my 'stash' and will set myself a target of 100 items (which I will hopefully smash and up my target)
Hi Maggie065 and welcome. Its great to have you along for our journey.:):)

I know its a little late but it has been a rotten start to the year and I need to get back to doing things I enjoy. Crafting keeps my mind and my fingers busy and gives me a sense of achievemnt and satisfaction and I need that right now.
I've not really completed any projects for over 2 years now. I worked full time in a demanding job and used to crave spare time just to do a bit of crafting. Having been made redundant and gone part time you would have thought I'd be loving all that free time just to get my stash out and let rip. But no, somehow I lost my motivation and haven't really made anything since. My Mum passed away at the start of the year and now I am just feeling lost and a bit lonely, suddenly I do feel like getting my craft stuff out again.
I have a massive stash that could keep me crafting for life but I'm going to set myself a goal of just 18 finished projects as I am also going freelance with my job and already need to catch upon the work I didn't do when Mum was poorly.

So sorry for your loss Best Auntie and its great to have you on board with the challenge. You are amongst friends here and I find it a great motivation so hopefully it will help you too.
I too have a massive craft stash which just kept growing (as I too find I lack motivation a lot of the time) but crafting is the way I destress and get some me time so I'm determined to continue and try and use up what I have.:D:D
I cannot wait to hear all about your adventures. Sending lots of love xxxxMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Well yesterday I made another tag, for a goody bag I have made my 25 year old brother who is coming to visit for a few days later today.
I need to remember how to upload my photos of my makes!
I also need to get a wriggle on, as I still have quite a few cards I need to make. The most urgent being my nieces cards which I need for Sunday! I'm thinking of trying my Lawn Fawn "reveal wheel" die to make an interactive card for her. I've had the die for about 2 years (since it was released), and never used it. I always chicken out of using it, thinking I'm not "good enough" yet. Err, I'll never improve if I don't try, and the worst thing that could happen is I waste a bit of card...I've got plenty!!! So I think I'll be ok.
Sorry for waffling on again...:rotfl:
I love your updates eyebright - they always bring a smile to my face!
Don't worry about being last minute - you still haven't beaten my record for the year so far - I've still got to make my husbands 50th birthday card and his 50 things for his gift and his birthday's tomorrow!!!!:eek::eek:Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -

I haven't finished anything over the past few days, but I have knitted 4 fiddle mats and used up quite a bit of wool. Not decorated yet so I'll count them when they're finished.
Thanks loopychriss:D:D
Well done on knitting up another 4 fiddle mats - I think you should start your own business selling them - the rate you are making them you would be a millionaire in a few years time (and think of all the stash you would use up!!!) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
I'm declaring further 7 makes taking me up to 209/2020 :j:j:j
These were 5 mini seed packs for an order (only cardstock used but still a sheet out of my stash)
2 sticker sheets (actually used 4 sheets of stickers but only two different designs)
The stash doesn't seem to be going down but I've also not added to it so at least that's something :T:T:T
I have been really tempted by some dies on sale on Sizzix website, the Sew Crafty collection on Create and Craft by Crafters Companion and loads of bits at The Works but I've resisted so I'm super proud of myself -Its only this challenge and having to fess up which stopped me so thank you to everyone:p:p
I really MUST now get on and make hubby's birthday card and gifts seeing as his birthday is tomorrow and I've got to collect him from the airport in an hour!:eek::eek:Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Well, I'm afraid I have failed spectacularly today on the no craft spending front - I went shopping in Aldi!
Needless to say I have enough yarn to make fiddle mats for the rest of the year!!
Craftingmad, I'm sure I could make some money out of it, but these are for the local hospital, so it's a sort of donation so NHS money can be used elsewhere. Besides, I find it much more enjoyable making at my own pace and donating, rather than making to order and getting stressed about colours, decorations etc and having to keep to a time limit.

Thank you all for your kind words. You are really inspiring me to get at it now. I make traditional artist teddy bears, needle felt, crochet and papercraft. Hubby brought me a calligraphy kit for Christmas so I'm going to have a go at that. Although I am sort of decent at crochet I cannot knit. I have had mant tries over the years and I have decided this year will be my last ditch attempt at that, I've booked a class at my local wool shop and warned the tutor that she has her work cut out :rotfl: They also host a crochet evening once a week so I'm going to join that too and maybe get to know some crocheters in the local area.
I have many WIPs so I've made a pledge that I won't start any new ones. I have a lovely granny square blanket kit that my sister bought me a couple of year ago. I have done 17 squares, only another 97 to go  I have a few half finished bears and a couple I finished a few years ago and should really put up for sale and many crochet projects including a baby blanket for my niece who is 3 years old now. Still she can have it a a dolls blanket
Be brave with that die Eyebright, you know you can do it!!!2 -
