Cushion looks fab Charley  :) Our church was 30 maximum and ticket only. I can’t stand the new minister so I won’t be going anytime soon lol.
Loooong phone call with my sister last night so no crafting for me  :'( - hopefully this evening.

Hope you get some crafting done tonight Coxy though it’s always nice to talk with family and friends. I don’t think I’d be rushing back to Church in your shoes either! Quick question. Where can I find a quick cross stitch wedding card design? Just found out my eldest step son and his fiancée have been able to reschedule their wedding at very short notice. It’s now going to be on Monday 27th July. Thought I’d try to stitch something!!!

    Hi Charley,
Great news for your stepson and his partner. I’ve had a look through my Cross Stitch Crazy magazines but no wedding card ideas there I’m afraid. Nmm might be able to help as she does a fair few cards or if you’ve got a spare few hours(!) Pinterest might turn up some ideas.
I did two more colours on the dune blanket last night so that’s 33/100 (66/200). We started watching Good Omens on Netflix. It’s good, would recommend  :)
    Have a good day a

    Hello :)
I have a couple of crafty questions and wondered if there might be a craft forum and lo and behold I find you!
I used to post in the Cross Stitch Cafe that was on MSE some years ago :)  I still craft but haven't done anything in ages!
My favourite craft is Cross Stitch, I can just about knit (well knit one row, purl the next) (can't increase/decrease/pick up lost stitches etc!!) and I still hope to learn to crochet someday!  In my loft somewhere, I have some glass painting bits, quilling paper and possibly a few card making materials.
My favourite cross stitches includes Winnie the Pooh, Mr Men and Bothy threads designs.  I also like cat/owl themed designs, favourite designers include Durene Jones, Margaret Sherry, Lucie Heaton.
Favourite shops used to be Sew and so but more recently Lakeside Needlecraft.
I don't subscribe to any craft magazines anymore (used to have subscriptions to Cross Stitcher and World of Cross Stitching) but cancelled these in favour of digital access via Readly.  Not quite the same but I still get a crafty fix when I nose through them.
So to my questions.  I hope you don't mind.
Firstly I've received a Vervaco cushion kit as a gift.  There's no paper pattern, instead, the pattern is printed on the cushion canvas.  Instead of dmc or anchor threads that I'm used to, I have wool!  I don't have any needles but I've been told that size 18 is a good size to use?
So I'm after any tips?  Although I would consider myself a proficient cross stitcher (albeit one who hasn't done any for ages), I'm not feeling confident about this project.  Is it recommended with wool to complete each whole cross stitch before moving on to the next? and any tips for securing the wool at the back?
Now to my second question.  I quite fancy stitching a design that incorporates world flags.  I have a recollection that there was a design in Cross Stitch Gold but I can't be sure.      If anyone can recall a magazine featuring world flags or knows of a kit then please can you share?  I have spotted that there's a world map design featuring flags on Etsy but this isn't quite what I'm after and I wasn't keen on the mushroom or hearts flag options that I saw.
    Thank you all <3

Charly27, congrats to you step son and his fiancée, found these on a quick google, any to your liking? All free charts from gathered.com

Flat_Eric, welcome back :) I can't help you with the wool tapestry but I have a vast digital collection of magazines, so i'll have a look for the flag chart for you.

Currently stitching a card for a friend and I got an hour done on The Junction, the most progress I've done in weeks.

    Hi Flat Eric (waves),
Like you I don’t tend to do printed on canvas designs but I would do half cross stitch and return back along to cover each block of colour. Which design is it - have just googled and they are lovely. Does the kit not come with a suitable needle?
Maybe check Pinterest for the flags design - if you have a few hours to spare lol!
Well done on The Junction nmm - looking forward to seeing your progress  ;)

Flat_Eric, not actual flags but this design caught my eye on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/489610082/flags-of-the-world-map-cross-stitch

Thanks a bunch :* for the Website link. Some of these look perfect.
Welcome Flat_Eric sorry I can’t help with the woolly question as it’s beyond my experience but gosh that flag design looks good.

Thanks all :)  It's been two days of housework and tax affairs so hopefully I can forget about boring things now and find something to craft. ;)
The cushion kit is of 3 kittens.  It wouldn't be my usual pick but I think it will look lovely when finished.
I like the map of the world - it's a clever design but not sure I like it enough to stitch it.  I am so indecisive.
