    dMerry Christmas all  :)
I feel bad saying this as know some folk are by themselves today, but honestly this has been one of the best Christmas's we've had. No stress about when we are going to see folk, or whether there's enough food/drink, or running around cleaning as we are hosting Christmas Eve. We had a lovely family buffet last night, just the 5 of us. I did Nigella's Christmas ham, just like always, but a smaller joint. We watched The Full Monty (kids hadn't seen it). Today was lovely. SIL came for lunch at 2pm and went home at 5pm as wanted to zoom her wider family. We sent her home with another Christmas dinner for tonight, so she just has to reheat. All good.
Watched Coco and then Home Alone 2 and now just chilling, wondering whether to get the cheese and crackers out lol!
No gifts of the crafting variety but DMum loved her scissor cradle, so all good  :)
I hope you've all had a lovely day. I'm now on annual leave until 4 January, so I'm looking forward to the rest.

  • nmm I will definitely use YouTube as I’ve found it helpful for many other things, binding on quilting, knitting techniques. Coxy I’ve also really enjoyed the simplicity and lack of pressure of Christmas this year and I got to exchange presents with DS and DD. Still no hugs but enough to drink them in with my eyes.
Watched a couple of good Christmas stalwarts like It’s a Wonderful Life and some new to us on FlixNet. Glad your mum liked her scissor cradle. My colleague thought the sampler was wonderful after it had been quarantined for 72 hours at her Mum’s. Can’t let my hands do nothing whilst watching TV so I’ve picked up the two Robin bookmarks which were a work in progress. I’d forgotten one of the dogs had a bit of a chew last year but I think I can save it!!!

    Morning all!
No snow for us but we did get a frost. The chilling continues here at Casa Coxy. DH went with SIL to collect two kittens on Boxing Day - she's wanted a cat for ages so this was her pressie to herself. The house was in the middle of nowhere and seller asked her to go at 6pm, so I volunteered DH to drive her there. Was good for him to get out of the house. We watched Angels and Demons with Tim Honks and also Dunkirk. Hadn't seen A&D before. Yesterday we had leftover turkey and ham pie (a P Hollywood recipe) which called for sherry. Used up a bottle of Tio Pepe which DDad gave us when he moved to Cyprus 18 years ago - was very ripe, but we lived to tell the tale.
In crafting news....I have stitched some more of the Chicory Fairy this morning. It's quite hard going with several shades of lilac and pale blue. I'm marking the chart as I go to keep me on track.
Glad your colleague liked the sampler Charly - am intrigued by the Robin bookmarks - photos please  :)
Will start the new cafe for 2021 later this week, and will post the link on here.
    Have a good day all,

Hi all we’ve just had copious amounts of rain with some local flooding. There was a frost this morning but it’s not been too cold yet. Pie sounds delicious, even with  vintage Sherry. I aKwan’s mark the chart with a highlight Coxy, and I still go wrong. See photos for dog damage. It looks like I was able to take the border in a bit and restitch it.

    Might as well finish them.

    Morning!
Love the robins Charly - you'll have those done in no time. Are they gifts or for you?
So it's the last day of this awful year thank goodness, but the vaccines are coming - there is hope people! I absolutely can't stand NYE even on a normal year, so the fact that we have to stay home in Tier 4 is something of a blessing! It's not that I'm anti-social, it's just that it feels like such a pressure to get crunk - I usually drive if we go anywhere.
No stitching yesterday as we were painting DDs bedroom. Second coat needed today, but DD is going to help this time (life skill) as I need to food shop. Did some stitching the day before whilst watching the first Wonderwoman movie. Enjoyed the movie, despite it not being my usual bag!
I'm just about to start the new thread for 2021 so will post the link here once it's up and running.
Thank you all for your company during this crazy year. I've really enjoyed our virtual chats, hearing everyone's news and seeing your makes. I can honestly say my crafting has been a godsend this year - something to take my mind off the daily figures, the lack of social meet ups, the worry about my children's education, the worry about my job, the stress of my DDad being seriously ill and now not being able to see him for the foreseeable future - not to mention the fear of anyone I care about actually contracting the virus.
Wishing all of you the very best for 2021.

Thank you for building the new cafe Coxy. I am making quite swift progress with the Robin bookmarks. The original intention was to gift them to my mum and my middle sister then craft another Robin themed one for my little sister. The Robin has a special significance for all our family as it reminds us of my dear dad. I guess when they’re finished I’ll follow my original plan, especially as it’s DM’s birthday at the end of January.
Thanks for all your unfailing support and encouragement this year. Your company in the cafe has made the challenges bearable as I’ve focused on the joy of focusing on what’s in my hands and within my control. Happy new year all. See you in the cafe in 2021.
