Coxy you must be thrilled with the money the angels raised. I agree with nmm they are lovely and I feel lucky to home one. They are knitting up fast if you managed to knit another. Cupboard won’t be with us until 18th January  :| so we will start 2020 with a kitchen of two halves. I’m going to try to stitch a pair of little bags from some superhero fabric for the two DGC. I have these little wooden, bendy superhero figures from when I was teaching and I think they’re tiny enough to go to Egypt and have an adventure. I think I can still get to my sewing machine! Will post pictures if I do.
Hope the minute taking went well Coxy. X

    Hi everyone,
That's a pain about the cabinet Charly, but if this year has taught us anything, it's to remain stoic in the face of adversity! The bags and superheroes sound fab. Good luck digging out your sewing machine....
Some further donations for the angels yesterday - £10 from DH who was sceptical I'd raise any money at all (oh he of little faith) and also £20 from my next door neighbour. Was really chuffed with that as we barely speak! Total going to JoGLE fund now £120.02 huzzah!
Have finished present buying for my 3 children - just need to wrap them up. Hoping DS1 is happy with his slow cooker, toaster and kitchen bin for his new home. Will withdraw some cash for them too.
DH has gone to drop gifts on the doorsteps of his DSis, MIL, DMum and my DSis.
Now looking increasing unlikely DSis and I will be able to travel to Cyprus in January as we are both Tier 4. Will have to get onto to Ryanair to move flights back - trouble is, not sure when we could feasibly go. Such a pain!
    Have a good day all,
    Coxy

  • Oh Coxy, so sorry you will have to delay your flights to Cyprus but huge well done on the angels.
I dug out the sewing machine and some fabric and stitched the bags. I meant to make just 2 in the Superhero fabric but got carried away. Bella is a girly girl and I get so few opportunities to use my pink stash. My DD hated pink! I did the backs all one fabric and the fronts two or three strips and used some ric rac and ribbon up as well. Didn’t cost me a penny and I hope they love the little superhero dolls, they’ve been sat in a cupboard for over a year!

Wow Charly they look wonderful. Well done you on your creativity and all for zero cost too (MSE mods please take note).
As expected Ryanair emailed last night to say our flights are cancelled and did we want to shift them, have a voucher, or have a refund. Have opted for the refund as not sure what will happen going forward. Looking increasingly likely Tier 4 is here to stay for a while. I need to contact the clinic today to cancel my Covid test. I paid upfront so hoping they too will offer a refund.
Still working today and tomorrow morning, but not much doing. Have to make a list of little bits we need for Christmas Day - only veg really - and will send DH as his one contribution to the main event! Need to wrap gifts later and will watch another film. So far this week we've watched Elf (first time I'd seen it) and Spiderman Homecoming (not really my bag, but was okay).
Have started the Chicory Fairy cross stitch. Found the original one I went wrong on - thought I'd binned it. Will keep in case I need any additional thread colours. Am taking my time and may (horror of horrors) mark the chart to keep me on track. Nothing much to photograph yet but will update before the end of the year. Will also look to start a 2021 thread next week so keep your eyes peeled  ;)
    Have a good day all

Sorry about your flight coxy, the world is a mess atm. Nice to gear you've started the Chicory Fairy, i'm still plodding along on the little kit i started its a bear sat on a pillow, my friend found it in a charity shop, so i'll compete it and give it back as a gift :)

Charly, those superhero dolls and bags are cute, what's not to love i hope they enjoy Egypt.

Aw Coxy sorry to hear Ryan Air have cancelled your flights. To be expected I suppose but sad that with the uncertainty you’ve opted for a refund. It makes sense but hard to accept. Hope you get your money back for the testing you no longer need. Saw the DGC on a socially distanced walk this morning and exchanged gifts in the car park. So good to see their little faces. We now go into tier 4 on Boxing Day so we won’t be able to see them again. Lucky first Mrs Charly27, gets to have them in the house until they leave. Not sure if my DH will still be able to take them to the airport in January, perhaps it will need to be someone from their bubble. As nmm says it’s a mad world. I may start some stitching as it’ll help my sanity. Stay safe all.

Happy Christmas Eve to you all  :)
I'm working today but expect to be finished by lunchtime. I need to upload some stuff to a website and do a couple of bits for one of my bosses.
All veg and bits and bobs bought by DH yesterday but he forgot to get piccalilli so will go to the farm shop for that. I'm not fussed as don't eat it  :p
Watched Love Actually last night - such a good movie  <3
We are hoping to eat around 2pm tomorrow and have told SIL to come whenever she's ready. We have a Zoom call with the wider family at 5pm and suggestion to play Pictionary which I'm sure will go down like a lead balloon with my DMum who hates games of any description!
DH and I have not bought for each other again this year, in the hope that Odeon cinemas will be back open soon and we can resume our Limitless membership. It's a real bargain for £16.99/month. Just need things to settle down and for the vaccines to get out there. I did however pick up two electric toothbrushes in a Boots deal, so they will be to us from the Christmas Tree!
Hoping Santa is kind to you all and brings you something nice. Have a great Christmas with your families.

Merry Christmas ladies, i hope you all have a wonderful time whatever you manage to do. I made a crochet card last night/this morning for my friends birthday on new years eve as i may not see her again before then. I love crochet cards they are so quick to do, took longer to glue the pipe cleaners  :D

Happy Christmas all. Love the crochet card nmm. 2021 will be the year I learn to crochet. Coxy hope you had a peaceful and uneventful end to your work and the house has sufficient piccalilli. I’m with you, can happily live without it. I went to mass yesterday and we have new hob in old worktop, old oven in new cabinet so we can now have more hot food. Not much more can happen now until we get new corner unit so we will move the fridge and dogs back in. Looking forward to seeing DD and DS later and of course a new cafe for a new year xxxx. Thanks for all you have shared this year and welcoming into the warmth and coziness of the cafe.
