Lovely card coxy, what a nightmare to go and see your dad but it will be worth it for your peace of mind, i hope it will be sunny when you go.
Yay, glad it arrived safely Ellie, there's something about robin's that always make me smilePleased your housemate likes it too.
I must dig out all my old exchange cards and take a group photo.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:2 -

Coxy thank you for the beautiful card with the Robin and my extra special surprise which made my day. I don’t know how you intuited that robins and angels have an extra meaning for me so well done. I love the way the stars are stitched as well, very clever. Last weekend sounds like an unsettling time in your neighbourhood and although it will be great to see your dad in January, the extra precautions add an additional layer of stress.
I’m loving your list for next year. I’m going to add a couple of the pretty little cities to my wish list, Dublin, London and Amsterdam. I’ve messaged the seller, Jody, and asked if she could add Madrid next year. I suggested Edinburgh, York, and Cardiff may also sell well. Note to moderators supporting small businesses.I love the planning stages, so rich with possibilities. Have a good weekend all, off to write cards and wrap presents as DSS and fiancée are driving down from Rotherham for the day tomorrow to exchange presents outside, I hope they bring their dog then we may get to walk.‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Morning!
nmm and Charly27 - you are welcome - just waiting to hear that Ellie received hers too. Even though I went to the post office counter to send them, I was a little worried that they didn't come under the right size/weight for that amount of postage - the lady squished the head to make it fit through the gap! I had visions of you all getting a card to collect from the sorting office and pay the extra needed
Also need to fess up that during the first lockdown I gifted all my card making stuff to a friend, so of course had to find a card blank to make the exchange piece. I found a card kit from CSC magazine and used the card from that (sorry Charly!), but MSE mods take note that I used up some stash in the process
47/50 angels now knitted
Have booked flights to Cyprus on 17-24 Jan - now trying to wrestle with the guidance on what test I need beforehand and on arrival. So flaming confusing.... or maybe I'm just being thick?!
Hope to get the Christmas tree up today - hurrah!

Thank you Coxy, I did indeed receive my lovely surprise today. It's beautiful. I haven't taken it out of the bag yet but I love the colours and it'll go beautifully with my christmas decorations. Should stay on the top of my tree better than the knitted Santa I made a few years ago for myself.2

Good evening all. Coxy so glad you’ve booked the flights. The rest will hopefully fall into place and of course will be subject to changing guidance. DSS, DIL and the two DGC’s have a date for their move to Egypt now, 6th January. DH will take them to the airport. We will miss them so much but hope to get out there before two year contract ends.
DH helped me to mount and frame the sampler today. I will take photos tomorrow. It’s not completely professional but I’m quite happy with it. I also finished the Cotton and Twine October subscription box. Just need to put that in the hoop.
Finished this year:- Stitched sampler for colleague’s baby girl
- Sewed one cushion cover
- Sewed Spring puppets and carry roll for GD
- Stitched 5 face masks
- Made one cross stitch card, another in progress
- Cotton & Twine October subscription box

The framed and mounted sampler. Sorry not a very good photo as a very dull day here in Norfolk today. The Christmas tree has been washed, dried and pressed and I’m just about to cover the hoop with ribbon before I frame it. Angel has been released in Norfolk Coxy she didn’t need much fluffing. She’s beautifully knitted. I love the way her gown curls around the hem.

Aw I love that the angels have been released
The sampler looks great Charly - I do love the HSC designs, just so classic.
In other news.....50/50 angels knitted hurrah! I have them bagged up in 10s and will be putting them out on my front garden wall next week. Will message the neighbours and get my elves (DD and DS2) to man the honesty box in shifts as I'm working right up to Christmas Eve. Thinking I might even go into the office in London on 22/23 December as everyone will be at home here so the wifi will be under strain. Unfortunately we are going into tier 3 tomorrow, so not sure whether the office will be accessible - will need to play it by ear.
I have to finish off my DMums scissor cradle. All the cross stitching is done, I just (just...) need to assemble it which will require some time and patience. I will have a go tonight after work as it's DDs turn to cook.
Hope you're all doing okay and nmm hope you had a good birthday yesterday
