    Hello :)
So to my questions.  I hope you don't mind.
Firstly I've received a Vervaco cushion kit as a gift.  There's no paper pattern, instead, the pattern is printed on the cushion canvas.  Instead of dmc or anchor threads that I'm used to, I have wool!  I don't have any needles but I've been told that size 18 is a good size to use?
So I'm after any tips?  Although I would consider myself a proficient cross stitcher (albeit one who hasn't done any for ages), I'm not feeling confident about this project.  Is it recommended with wool to complete each whole cross stitch before moving on to the next? and any tips for securing the wool at the back?

    Thank you all <3
Apologies  if someone has already answered this.

If it's wool, firstly, you only need to do half a cross-stitch (it's called tent stitch, apparently) and follow the colour blocks on the canvas. To secure, you can either leave a tail on the wrong side and stitch over them to secure, or tie a knot put the needle from front to back some way (about an inch?) from where the colour starts and, once you've stitched over it enough to be secure, cut the knot off and pull the thread through to the back.

I am surprised that it didn't come with a needle, btw, but apparently sizes 24 & 26 are the sizes to go for.

nmm the card looks lovely. Well done on completing it so well in advance of your mum’s birthday. I have finished the finger puppets and am stitching the tandem card. I’ll photograph before BABS and after in cross stitch cafe tradition.

    Hi all,
Lovely finishes ladies!! nmm - looks like a lot of BABS relative to the size of the daffodil project but SOOOO worth it. Hope your Mum loves it!
Charley - wow, those finger puppets are fab - well done you :)
I've done precisely no crafting this week. We finished series 3 of Killing Eve and have now been watching I May Destroy You - very adult content and disturbing but really worth watching. It's 12 x 30 minute episodes.
My DSis is coming tonight as we are hiking this weekend along the south coast - Littlehampton to Eastbourne, carrying full kit and camping along the way. I'm excited but slightly nervous too! We should have been in Cumbria now on our JoGLE trek..... nmm we could've met up!! Next year...…
Hope you all have a good day and enjoy your weekends when it comes.

Oh Coxy, that would've have been so nice, shame its the usual weather here wet & miserable. The BS was ok on the daffodils in the holes rather than through the fabric. It was a rubbish chart though as half the flower dots for yellow were hidden under the BS line.

    Hiya gang!
I am back (and recovered) from my hike at the weekend. Boy did it rain on Saturday :'( - we got absolutely soaked walking from Worthing to Brighton, gale force winds too. Turned up at campsite and were about to begin erecting tent, when a kindly family offered us their yurt for the night. They were leaving a day early due to the weather. We thought we'd won the lottery! So nice to sleep in the dry and be able to dry our kit off. Sunday was lovely and sunny up over the South Downs. We are going to do a few more practice walks before we go, as definitely need to build up our stamina.
In crafting news - not a lot is happening lol! I have sold some stash over the past few weeks (mags, DMC storage binder and inserts/stitchbows etc.) and have made a bit for my charity fund. Pleased to see some of it go tbh as it was just taking up space. We are going to Yorkshire next week so I plan to take my Dune blanket - easier than carting my sewing lamp all the way there. I am co-hosting a zoom quiz tonight so no crafting for me. Hopefully will get to do some stitching tomorrow night. I will post a pic of A Pair Tree in a sec. Lovely fabric - like linen but really soft and floppy - can't even remember buying it! I've had the chart for at least 10 years. My bad...….!
