Hi all. Well nmm you got your wish the heatwave is certainly here in the East of England. Phew! Quick update from me. Down a week as we were in Southampton. Bathroom completed, socially distanced wedding but no crafting. GD loved the puppets & the animals on the cover. I would love to finish the sampler by end of August, not sure how realistic that is, so stitching daily.

Charly, that's really coming along now, good luck with your target date, i'm rooting for you :) Well we've had 2 days of sun here in Cumbria hottest about 21 degrees, i really do want to relocate down south i'm fed up of rain, unfortunately its not called the Lake District for nothing.

No cross stitch but i upcycled a pair of linen trousers into shorts and the offcut legs will become a skirt. I've also started a crochet amish puzzle ball but i might do the star ball version.crochet pattern here

Take care all and enjoy the sun if you have it  B)

    Hi everyone,
Not been on for a while as we had a week away in Yorkshire last week. My sister has a place there, so FnF rate! It was a very chilled week - slower pace of life and lots of walking which nearly broke our 16 yo son :D
Charly - glad the wedding went well and great progress on the sampler, looks fab.
nmm - get you with the upcyling - not brave enough to try that myself. Love the puzzle ball - photos please!!!
I didn't take the crochet blanket with me to Yorkshire in the end. Our (new to us) car has a smaller boot space so couldn't justify squeezing it in. The heat this week is putting me off doing any tbh and in any case, I had a mountain of ironing to do last night (groan). Will try to pick it up again later in the week as DD gets her results on Thursday and then it will be countdown to her leaving for uni. She is very stressed at the moment and being a bit challenging(!)…..and breathe...…..
    Stay safe and hydrated folks!

    Hello again,
Bit stressey here as DD received her A level grades yesterday. Was predicted BBC and got CCU(!). Don't quite know how she got a U in Biology when she got a D in her mock. Cue lots of tears and a 'thanks but no thanks' email from her first choice university. Her second choice have offered her a place on a foundation degree - 4 years as opposed to 3. We spoke to her school who said to fill in an appeals form to challenge the Biology results. Apparently she can 'choose' to accept the mock results, so it really is a farce - choose your own grade!! Bit calmer now and she has accepted the offer from Sussex, so will be in an AONB and near the beach/close to trendy Brighton. Her accommodation has also been confirmed (single en suite) and the university have confirmed her moving in date of 19 September. This means I have just over a month to finish the Dune blanket eeeeek! It's cooler here today so might pick this up again tonight.
DS2 will get his GCSE results next Thursday, so will be going through the motions again!
In other news, the framers have texted to say my Christmas Pots design is finished. Will go to collect it tomorrow and combine with a visit to Mum.
Hope everyone is doing okay and have had some sunshine - bit too warm for me if I'm honest, but mustn't complain!!

Hi sorry coxy, i meant to reply to your previous post. That is awful about your DD's results, but the uni she's going to sounds great especially in this weather. The sun has been beaming here too, seems like a nice little holiday, not much crafting done as its just too warm but out enjoying my sunflowers that are blooming. Good luck with your blanket, the weather will turn cooler soon and you can get it done. I've completed the skirt and i like it, even wore it yesterday, put some palmers tinted stuff on my legs i smelt of chocolate all day, haha.

Hi Coxy so sorry to hear that your DD has been impacted by the farce which is this year’s A level results. I can understand her reaction and it sounds like you’ve had a rollercoaster ride of a day. I’m glad that at the end she’s happy with going to Sussex. Cold comfort but so many young people impacted by this. My secondary colleagues were spitting feathers this afternoon. It seems like a bit of a postcode lottery too.
Whilst you crochet frantically I’ll stitch my fingers away too. I’m with you can’t bare the hot weather. Not brave enough to often get me legs out Nmm - own one skirt and I pair of cropped trousers - but I love the Palmers cream too. Unfortunately anything with a tint turns me tango!!!

...and can you believe I've noticed a mistake in it....hahaha couldn't make it up - just like a Persian rug this happens EVERY time. Well at least it's unique to me!!
Thanks for your well wishes for DD. She is looking forward to uni (a bit too much for my liking!!) and we have to sort out what she needs to take. Will be an expensive few weeks to come.
nmm - get you with your legs out lol! Does the Palmers cream smell of fake tan? I bought some Garn!er but the smell was nauseating.
Will be crocheting tonight whilst watching a film. Have several 'taped'. Might watch Three Billboards Outside Ebbing as we missed it at the cinema.
    Have a good evening all.

Coxy i don't see a mistake it looks brilliant framed :) the palmers cream smells of cocoa, my OH said ooh what's that chocolate smell, haha. Just bought some flippy shorts and denim shorts now the sun has done a runner. Still no crafting at all, i feel like i've wasted my days not doing anything constructive.
