I use my lap frame weird, instead of sitting it on my lap I tend to rest the stand vertically and stitch on the large top section. I tried using both hands I didn't like it so I just hold the frame and lean it against me
I used the handheld R&R frames before the lap one, they are both pretty similar to use but I got some discomfort with the handheld one if I stitched for too long.
I'd love to see a progress photo of the Animal Sampler, most of my previous projects have been wildlife, currently doing The Junction by John Clayton, its a narrowboat scene, we plan to live on one in the future.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:2 -
Thanks nmm . I will take a photo and try to post tomorrow. It’s for a work colleague who’s baby is due 21st April. I thought it’d be quicker as it’s a sampler‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Was it the Shakers who always sewed a deliberate mistake? I’ve ordered a laptop frame as it really hursts my wrist and I think it might help.

Nobody but you will notice the mistakes and it makes everything unique
The lap frame should help with your wrist pain, I prop it against me so I don't actually hold it at all so much easier. I did manage a few stitches on The Junction yesterday its a nice block of the same colour. Scorching out today long may this nice weather continue, take care all

Hi all,
Love that design Charly27 - you're making great progress. I ALWAYS make at least one mistake when I'm stitching. I thought it was accredited to Persian rugs??!!
Pot 'A' is now done and I'm stitching the buxus (?) which is two balls. I wanted to do more yesterday after work but DH and I binge watched 'Quiz' about the guy who won £1m on that show. We enjoyed it.
I've been running every morning before work except yesterday. Had a slight shin splint pain in my left shin so thought I'd better rest it for a day. Now up to 3km without stopping. Wanted to go a different route today (slightly further) but there was a guy walking along puffing on a cigar. I couldn't face having to get close to him so I diverted off down my main route. Why would someone be smoking a cigar at all, let alone at 6.45am
More stitching tonight, and of course our weekly applause for carers and keyworkers
Stay safe and well all,
Coxy xx

Morning everyone, hope all okay with you?
Two lots of exciting news today: my Dune blanket wool kit arrived today (at 7am!!!) and DH kindly went and met the postie. Also our plastic got collected for the first time in a month. We had been bagging up the plastic and cans and had 7 black sacks in the garage. I heard the lorry and dashed out (in my PJs) and managed to catch them just in time. I 'think' I'm slightly more excited about the wool arriving, but equally grateful to have a clear garage now
Crafting plans today include finishing the topper for pot 'A'. Didn't manage any stitching Thursday night or last night as we were binge watching The Nest on Thursday and last night I had a 7 way zoom call with friends for an hour. When I finally got off the call, DH and children were watching A Fish Called Wanda - classic movie and so funny!
Before I stitch though I must do some housework. The bathrooms need cleaning and we have a few niggly little jobs to be getting on with.
Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Oh coxy can't wait for Dune blanket updates, I really must get mine finished. Thankfully our bins & recycling have been going every fortnight as usual.
I have managed some stitching on the junction and completed both sides of the jumper, just to sew it together and add the sleeves now.
