So if you cancel dd with breeze now what happens to the credit that I have in breeze .. I’m £140 in credit at the mo0

We moved to Breeze about a month ago from Bulb and the first we heard of this was last night when an email came through from British gas saying we were now with them. At first I thought it might be some kind of scam email.
I don't suppose there is a lot we can do on Christmas eve, so we'll wait a couple days and then look into it. What a pain in the neck, because they appeared to have good customer feedback, though I have to say the website looked pretty low grade.0 -

Perhaps see if the Breeze website is still operating, take meter readings and register them on the site?
As I mentioned before, the log-in icon isn't immediately visible on the Breeze initial web page - so just scroll down a bit and it will appear.0 -
I was with breeze for 2 yrs and they were very good .. I had no problems at all .. I’ve yet to find a company that can match their prices... sad day .. at this point in time I’m looking at going to “so energy “ .l this is the best I’ve found so far ... has anyone found anything any better ?0

Been with Breeze since we moved in just under 2 years ago. The rates we had at 10p standing charge are just not available now and our monthly DD could not have been much lower.
The BG rate is about 30% increase all said and done.
I have not received a welcome letter but managed to push BG to admit they are batching them and my account had not been setup.
I also got mixed information that at first my direct debit would be transferred, but this is no longer the case. I took meter readings today to cover myself as much as possible.
I am not sure if there will be enough credit in our Breeze account as we had only £60 in there (bit of a bumper month last month). So time will tell, but wont be much out by my estimates.
Already looking at Avro Energy for us as it is still more than our breeze rate but not much more and saves us just over £200 a year. The standing charge for us is the killer bit overall sadly.0 -
I`ve been looking at alternatives for us and the two best options are
Green Energy - Green Oak Variable or
Avro Simple and Super Save 12m fixed
I have not been on a variable rate before, do prices tend to change often over a 12 month period? Avro is about £32 more over the year but is fixed. Decisions, decisions... wonder how long before we will hear from British Gas.0 -
Katie's mum I have been told by BG 14 days to get either a welcome email or letter, take meter readings and DD.
The tariff BG have put us on is a variable one reviewed every 6 months which is a massive put off for me even ignoring the higher cost. I suspect many will be similar or in some case worse with 30 days notice.
Yorkshire Energy looks a better deal after looking more closely as it is an 18 month deal close in price to Avro which is only fixed for 12 months at similar cost level.
Either way I cannot wait to swap the deal BG have put us on is nothing short of rubbish.0 -
Thank you NINJA59 have just obtained a quote from Yorkshire Energy and it is only a few pounds a month more than Avro. They do have a £60 exit fee though, which I usually try to avoid if possible. But definitely one to keep on my list of possibilities. Thanks0

That's like saying a football club risks being forced to the wall by HMRC pursuing a tax bill.0
