I've had an email from British Gas, welcoming me as a new customer and saying they'll be in touch with the next steps.
I'm thinking of going for the Green Network Energy 'GNE Cosy Christmas' deal next. That tariff is almost identical to Breeze for me and they've been in business for quite a while.
Hopefully BG will be quick in moving my account across from Breeze to them - it took ages for that to happen when Eversmart closed.0 -
I've also had the British Gas welcome email.
I'm considering So Energy's Zebra Green plan which works out at about the same as I was paying Breeze.
Does anyone know yet when we can request to switch away from British Gas, and still have them honour our outstanding credit balance?0 -

This is from the ofgem site:
"British Gas will be in contact with customers over the coming days with further information. Once the transfer has been completed, customers can shop around for a better deal if they wish to.”
So we need to wait until our account with BG has been set up (eg we have logged on and can see our account details, tariff etc.) and at that point we can set the ball rolling with a new energy supplier.
Unfortunately by then, we will have had to set up a Direct Debit with BG, so they will take at least one months payment before we can get away.
So those of wanting to move away from BG just need to look around and decide who we want to move to next and wait for our BG account to go live.0 -
I was thinking so energy too0

This time of year ,it'll be a slow process; when One Select went down early last Dec. I didn't manage to start the move away from Together Energy until late January. Finally switched mid Feb.
HOWEVER, I cancelled my DD with One Select ,so Together never had any details to debit against:T In view of the well publicised problems with Together Energy I am extremely glad I did:)0
