2020 - banish the clutter

Hi Everyone,
I am back from being ill for the last few weeks and am on a roll today. I have really noticed a difference between my mental health and lack of clutter.
Today I:
-sorted a bag of recycling purely from items in my loft
- small bag of stuff to throw away mainly from loft
- large re-usable bag full of stuff for charity shop - loaded into car to deliver tomorrow as they would have been shut today. Mainly DS outgrown clothes and few books, oddments etc
- gaming chair loaded into car to deliver to CS tomorrow
- box of books sold to we buy books, packaged up to drop off tomorrow and will make me nearly £17
-condensed DS old games console into smaller package ready to sell when he finally takes his account details off it
I'm feeling a bit proud of myself, I actually have space in my loft to move. Only slightly, but it is a big improvement.5 -
43 items of paperwork shredded or recycled.
Shreddings mostly on the floor now due to me not waiting for OH to come and empty. Naughty ocean!!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅4 -
Omg I love this forum! It’s turned into my decluttering Fitbit!!
It seems that Sunday is my decluttering day and since DH has a day to himself on Monday, he is often happy to do some too!
He’s done his 7 garage items today so progress is being made. He’s becoming more enthusiastic about it too! Long may it continue!
I sorted the table linen drawers today and am embarrassed by the collection of table linens that I gave house room to. I’ve also had a sort in the kitchen (three cupboards) and can report the following all to CS
161-182 tablemats
183-204cream fabric napkins
206-245cream and gold fabric napkins (whatever was I thinking???)
245-246 2 embroidered napkins
247-254 red fabric napkins
255-257 white table cloths
258-261 white table runners
262-268 gold napkins
269-277 cream tablecloths
278 red tray
279-295 *dressing table items
296-345 *items from DH wardrobe
346-353 mugs
354-355 bowls
*Reported before but not added to total before
Seeing the numbers is really encouraging but not as great as a (singular at the moment) completely clear corner in the kitchen, wardrobes that don’t screw up clothes and a 3/4 empty tablecloth drawer - if I tell you I still have 8 table cloths and 12 napkins you will know table linens had got out of hand!!
Going to have curry from the freezer for dinner - baby steps re clearing that out but we’re keeping up with the rest!
Feeling very virtuous and the physio on the poorly arm is going well so hoping to be fully fit again very soon
Thankyou Mrs SD for all you encouragement and to the rest of the fellow declutterers for keeping me going

I feel like I have bee MIA this week - work is always busy and there seemed to be something on most nights after school. Decluttering is going well though now.
Paperwork was tackled today - I'm counting that as another 10 items.
also threw out 2 used up candles (i'm trying to use up all that i have)
Some more lego figures sold on eBay so that's another 3 items from the house. I will properly tackle DS room this week - anything he doesn't want is off to the charity shop.

Clearance sale went particularly well this week - sent out 25.5 kilos of mail, total for YTD 120.5 kilos. Phase 2 has now started, so hopefully next week will clear a lot more.
Decluttering craft stuff into cards also went well, 45 cards produced this week, bringing total for YTD to 72.
Got rid of two large pieces of memory foam and the large box in which they were stored to a friend who is having an issue with her hip, for use as a makeshift mattress topper. I had tested them out myself (for my dodgy hip), before deciding to fork out on a proper topper covering the whole area of the bed - I hope she finds them as helpful.4 -

Stayed up until 6:30 a.m. Sunday to send DH out at 7:30 a.m. He was meeting a friend with a pick up to go & collect an electric wheelchair from Newcastle - to be taken to another friend, Bear, who has crumbling vertebraeOut from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. I went to bed & got up at 10:30 a.m. only to have a completely lazy day - although I did zizz my new hm soup & had a mug of soup for dinner. DSis made herself baked beans on toast. DH & the pick-up friend were fed by Bear
😋
The one thing I did do was empty my Terramundi pot - just over £90.00 - all bagged up & I will take to the bank next week.

Not a lot of physical decluttering but decluttered a lot of stress yesterday by spending the afternoon with a friend while DS' Dad (ex-husband) came over to visit him.
Thanks for dispensation for the CS moment of weakness @mrssaladdodger :A:rotfl:Shifting my energy for 20205
