There'll be a few more toiletries later, so quite pleased with my January decluttering. Some of these totals so far this year are very impressive, well done to everyone.x

    Progress!

Decided to focus on the bathroom and bedroom to start with as I knew there was a decent amount there that would make an impact.

    Bathroom drawers:
    - some old packs of contact lenses that were the wrong prescription AND out of date
    - A new pair of scrubby gloves switched for the old ones which were thrown away
    - Some ancient toiletries long since forgotten about and unused thrown out
    - the last fresh razor blade that belongs to an old and now obsolete handle put onto the handle and set aside ready to use when my current one is in need of replacement
    - a couple of "sensitive teeth" kits that we got free at the Good Food Show last year and will never use are heading to the CS

Then on to the bedroom and my dressing table drawers:
    - 41:eek::eek: separate makeup items thrown away - almost all incredibly old and not going anywhere NEAR my skin as a result!
    - Hair elastics - a great handful of either too small, too thin so harsh on the hair, or the wrong colour thrown out
    - An accumulation of old emery boards - I prefer to use the finer ones these days and these were all old fashioned "sandpaper" style ones
    - A load of towelling scrunchies (I use them on wet hair) which had lost their stretch binned
    - A couple of old wristwatches > CS
    - A spare FitBit strap that I bought from eBay then didn't like when it arrived > CS

For various reasons that lead me in to my jewellery box:
    - another 2 old wristwatches :rotfl: > CS
    - Some random earrings I'm never going to wear again > CS
Clearing bits from there made space for a load of pin badges to go into the jewellery box - they'd previously been in a pretty box that used to have a padded lid but the foam in that had disintegrated and it was rather dusty, so that has now been binned.

Finally I sorted through some books on the shelf and have set aside some to read and a couple have gone to the CS bag. Once I've read the others remaining those will either go to my Mum or also to the CS.

Next target is going to be to go through some old magazines to decide which I actually want to keep and which have little use for me to refer back to in the future - those will either be passed to friends or recycled.

Net result of today: LOTS of clear space in three separate drawers and two shelves. Happy with that!

I have bought several storage boxes and have had a very satisyfying time decluttering and putting things away tidily. Some are storing neutral items so only temporary until September when they go off to charity but what a great sense of satisfaction of seeing things stored and tidy with no rubbish being kept :)

Haven't posted for a week which is unsurprising given that DS had an operation on Weds. It was all arranged at short notice so we had to go up for the pre-op on Monday. Thankfully he is back home with me now - sore & very swollen but on the mend. Feeling very grateful to God /The Universe & our wonderful NHS.:heart::heart:

This morning was the first time this week that I've woke up feeling clear headed so I got a good start on the day and took two bags of stuff to the charity shop ( items already counted) & some items to the food bank. Hoping to use the momentum and have a decluttering day today - will report back later :)

    38. Notebook - recycling
    39. folders
    40. Board Game
    41. Nerf gun
    42. microphone
    43. juicer

    44 - 82 - 39 items to CS
    83 & 84 - food to food bank

The Charity Shop items were all bagged up in the loft and I finally got around to taking them. There are 3 more bags of clothes up there destined for a different CS - its a children's hospice so they get my best stuff - but its a bit further than the one I went to today.

A small confession - I bought a top when I went to the CS - sometimes it just has to be done :rotfl:
