2020 - banish the clutter

Tuesday is often our day out (we get 6 hours a week with a carer to look after M-I-L). Today we took 3 bags and a cd rack to the cs. Found a farm shop in Pembury near the cs. Collected our filled prescriptions from the Doctors - they act as their own chemist too. Went to Lullingstone so DH could see an old church (there's a Roman Villa there too). Took my cross stitch in to be framed.
Had lunch in Sainsbury's and then went to Aldi for price comparisons. I've decided that we'll look to buy a large order from Sains instead of weekly and top up shop in farm shop and sometimes go to Aldi. That should save M-I-L some money. Gosh but home care is expensive:eek:!!
TV & new washer both come tomorrow. We do seem to pack a lot into our 6 hours each week, though with the churches I sit in the car and read a book.

I was doing so well and now I've hurt my back and I can't move off the sofa. Have to go to work tomorrow so it'd better get right by then. So frustrating:(Magnolia Stellata0

Hello all fellow declutterers
I've had a good afternoon trying to declutter another cupboard of doom, in the office this time! I had to enlist DH to help again, as my arms weren't long enough to reach into the back of it :rotfl:. It's another built in cupboard, that goes floor to ceiling and we've only attacked the top 3ft of it !
Binned today :-
Electric typewriter with broken plug
Slide projector
Broken mans wallet
Broken briefcase
100 to 150 floppy discs ( didn't count )
Bag full of paperwork to be shredded/burnt from 1980's on
To the cs:-
The floppy disc box and the last of my books (15)
Recycled :-
Cardboard hamper box
Box that contained slide projector
About 20 Booklets from banks, tax revenue etc
Sympathy cards ( too many to count) for Dh's family. His Dad died 1976, younger brother died 1995 and his DM died in 2003. Why they were all kept, we have no idea.
Wedding invites from his cousins to his family and silver wedding cards for his DM and DDad.
He did keep his parents wedding telegrams ( they were married in 1945  ) , his Dad's war records, family death and birth certs and other memorabilia important to DH. All paperwork now in one place, but I don't think he knew all that stuff was there as he seemed as shocked as I was  I can't get over the fact that DH has let so much go without a fight :j
Oh ! and joy of joys, the cupboard of doom has turned into a room of doom, as everything else is still on the floor ready to be put back . That's for tomorrow now, it took us about 4hrs to do that much and we still have the middle shelf to sort ! Here's to keeping up the momentum
Happy decluttering.

Just found this thread. Can I join?
I'm currently doing the Minimalist 30 day challenge (going for the full 31 days), so should reach 496 items by the end of the month.
So far I'm on target, so 28 things in the trash or donate pile.
I love the idea of minimalism, having just the things you love, that you could pack up in a day & fit in your car if there was a 'need to get out quick' situation.

No decluttering today due to work, and then home.
The bins got emptied today, which is great as it was full and I needed it to be gone.
The candle jars ended up back in the boot but are going to a lady who makes candles tomorrow so not back into the house. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
I've cleared out all last year's conference badges, and the lanyards are in the CS bag. Hopefully they'll be useful for someone.
One pair of religious knickers binned.
Recycling has been emptied, and the Christmas tree is out for the next collection on Friday.0 -
