Back tomorrow, adjusting to new work pattern...‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
"It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.” David Lynch.1 -
I'm back onto this as we're beginning phase 2 (or should that be 3 as we'll soon be entering our third year here?) of restoration/refurbishment of our old cottage
This entails (amongst other things) reconfiguring the upstairs layout to provide a third bedroom and a bathroom with a window (yay!) and therefore requires the removal/repositioning of several stud walls built by a previous owner. In turn this involves the clearance of one large walk-in cupboard and the streamlining of another (slightly smaller), so much stuff to go through that hasn't been touched since we took it out of storage in mid 2018
So far we've pulled out the following to go -
2 x bin bags clothing (charity shop)
35 x coat hangers
1 x dog bed
8 x flannels
2 x hair dye stained towels
2 x large packing boxes Christmas decorations (fleamarket)
1 x huge, hideous pig chef metal doorstop (fleamarket)
1 x bath mat
2 x bin bags rubbish
3 x bin bags paper/general recycling
10 x framed prints (fleamarket)
11 x flattened boxes
1 x box assorted games/books/DVDs (carboot)
Several sets of pastels/paints (carboot)
1 x vintage hat box/tin (fleamarket)
We've only been through about half so far, so sure to be moreMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Hi All,
Stuck already and only a few days in. Feeling overwhelmed and pick things up and put back
have got rid of 13 batteries but have been around for ages and finally recycled
Have 2 bike locks without keys and about 10 keys that I don;t know what they are for! Do I keep in the hope keys will come up
1 thermos binned - broken vacuum - kept the lid and cups as may fit others - how many spare cups do I need?
Impressed by everyone doing so well and hope it will rub off on me1 -
Not a lot done today! One small ray of hope though, I did tidy my desk...but only so that I could do more marking on it!!!1

Back to work so won't be doing anything till the weekend, if then.
Very tempted to declutter the dog though who is being a complete !!!!!!.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
1. DO NOT PUT OFF TO TOMORROW WHAT CAN/SHOULD BE DONE TODAY
2. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS”
3. LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
4. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
Wednesday’s weather turned to drizzly damp just in time for me to go outI completed Tuesday’s task no.7 - posted letters, then took the opportunity to buy stamps to Europe listed on Thursday’s To Do list :rotfl: Task 7 listed for Wednesday has been moved to Thursday

DH ate the lo cheesy pasta as a late lunch. DH then completed the last of Tuesday’s tasks - got the suitcases from the loft :T Finished off the hm cottage pie & the last of the green beans from the freezer. Also just finished knitting charity scarf no.20 & started on no.21 + completed 3rd Thursday task of sorting out the newly cut keys :T

Crikey phoebe1989seb :T another person who is putting me to shame :rotfl:
Now, now TC77 we will have no more of such defeatismJust pick one surface or small area - empty it completely & only return what belongs. Then rinse & repeat
I KNOW you can do this - just repeat to yourself “I am a champion declutterer”
StinkingBishop has tidying your desk made it easier to do the marking? If yes, then you will be decluttering the marking at a faster rate than if you had not tidied :rotfl: so
Oh elsienwe are here to keep you on track
I would like you to do 2 x 15 minute sessions of intensive decluttering over the weekend
It will make a difference & you can bask in the sunshine of decluttering :rotfl:
See you all later today

MrsSD I decided to only include things that have lingered rather than things I use and throw away immediately.
66-67 a old takeaway box and lid.
68-69 two spoons that nobody ever uses.1 -
A bag of printer ink cartridges sent for recycling to get Tesco clubcard points and a bag of rubbish to the bin. I had ten minutes in the loft yesterday and realised what a big job it's going to be. Still, took down some items for selling on and some for cs1

This is harder to do now back at work and all of life's stuff gets in the way!
1. Went to friends for tea and we decluttered her freezer of one fish pie and one shepherd's pie
2. I had a bulky toy on ebay which sold. Didn't have a cardboard box that fitted but my darling partner said he had one at work and brought it home for me - it was perfect! And turned out it had been under his desk for a year lol, so that was a good piece of decluttering. Now parcelled up and dropped to parcel shop.
3, online shopping arrived so decluttered the fridge and threw out any out of date food.
Must do betterYou're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *1
