    5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’

Wednesday has been mainly dry so far :T. I have been quite productive so far (having waved off DH & DSis as she is hunting for swimsuits & holiday clothing ;)).
I have completed 2 of yesterday’s tasks on my To Do list - turned all the hangers round in my wardrobe & sorted/rearranged my 3 bedside drawers - yippee 😁 The other 2 tasks will be done by this evening ;) So far I have managed 6 of the 7 tasks I set myself :j - 1) bagged, labelled & frozen cottage pie mix & mash from yesterday’s batch cooking 2) washed up the pots & pans immediately 3) put in new wheelie bin bag 4) watered indoor plants 5) complex competitions entry form & read magazine 6) sorted my post completely - a novelty for me :rotfl: I obeyed the only handle once rule :rotfl:

12 Uu plastic jar - Recycled
13 - 14 Wheelie bin emptied, small amount of rubbish from bedside drawers
*15 Pair of tongs in CS bag

    Cheerleading starts here ;)

Good work villagelife :T Do remember that your day to day getting rid of food cans & packaging, sorting your post etc is still decluttering ;) as technically you are stopping clutter coming in :p

Same advice (as above) for you StinkingBishop ;) You have a lot on your plate but I have every faith in you :D Once you have finished the marking you will get back to decluttering projects. As long as you promise to read the thread, I promise to encourage you :D

Lindens, I have 2 pairs of silicone tongs & both are a bit useless although one f them I can actually use :rotfl: *The other pair have just been put in the CS bag :p

Well Done ailz95 :T Not only decluttering but giving immediate pleasure to someone else :T I did :rotfl: at the M-I-L tale :rotfl: How lovely that you had a few spare minutes to watch the birdies :grinheart

DH just phoned - he & DSis will be a bit longer having left at 1:15 p.m.

    See you all later

  • 6. recycling box-recycled
DH dropped the box and it cracked (although it probably gave up due to overuse, we are out at those recycling bins all the time).
  • Thanks Mrs SD - yes the money is indeed handy :D

I sent out over 9 kilos of post yesterday and 15 kilos today, so a good amount. Haven't had much time for decluttering of personal stuff, but I am determined to make a significant impact on clearing business stock between now and March, which will free up a lot of space, so that is the priority for now.

    Hello
Day 2 at the coal face .......... er room/cupboard of doom :D. After this I shall need a lie down in a darkened room :p. Anyway DH was still on a mission and we decluttered lots more, either to the bin, recycling or cs bag :-

Part of a child's car seat
Inflatable boat  (Haven't found the oars yet ! )
    Joy stick
Set of telephones and their base station.
    Broken scanner
    Camlink convertor video
    Camera flash unit
    Lge wicker hamper basket
Electrical gubbins ( no idea what they were, but they had knobs and meters. )
    Computer tower unit

    Folding shovel, broken
    Camlink stereo converter
    Anzio game
    Kagool
    Miniature railway tunnel
    Pilots bag
    Old electricity monitor
    Various empty boxes and tins
More work paperwork for shredding ( DH retired in 2012 ! )
"And a partridge in a pear tree " :rotfl:
I now have 2 large, crammed full bags for charity and as luck would have it, they are collecting on Friday :j.
This has taken me years to get DH on board :( There were still a few items that I thought he could part with, but they are staying for now ;)

Special thanks to MrsSD for this thread and cheerleading, and many thanks to everyone who posts here. Without you lot none of this would have been possible :A:A

    Happy decluttering all

Nothing from me today. I was at work again, then swimming lesson for little one so home late.

I have managed to stop anything entering the house though. I can still close my clothes drawers.

Hoping to get rid of another 10 items over the weekend. Half my ebay finishes tomorrow and 5 items have bids on them already including my big book case.

    Starting afresh.

  • I was back at work yesterday and today. I have been keeping up with the thread and reading everyones posts. I've not had the energy to do much sorting, but plan to do some at the weekend like you Nicnak.

    Keep going everyone.

Evening everyone didn't post yesterday as I cleared under the bed and one thing led to another!
It was very dusty under there so decided to pull out all furniture in my bedroom and wash skirting boards back of furniture and dust down walls phew! As my craft stash is stored under the bed in both my room and spare room I pulled it all out. It has all been sorted and I now have all fabric in one room and wool in the other feeling very smug.
Furniture has been rearranged and one large item listed on gumtree.
    Full bag of rubbish binned
46-47 2 huge wooden storage drawers chopped up by DH for firewood
48 Large bag of fabric off cuts to textile recycling
49 Pair of curtains to CS bag
50-51 2 huge throws to CS bag
    52-53 2 x moisturizer uu
54-55 padded coat sold on eBay posted with packaging from stash (extra 3 inches in wardrobe!)
56 Pair of pjs to rag bag

I put 5 items in eBay pile
    Garden bin emptied today
