Been a rubbish day today for decluttering. The only item I have cleared was a brown banana into banana and chocolate chip cookies. It's the only time the children will eat banana as well, so win win. Back to work tomorrow, sad day, but I do take lots of my clutter to work!Decluttering target:
Beauty product - 11/52, last item - bubble bath used while I shaved legs, 2 conditioners sachets from used hair dye boxes
Play room - 41/52, last item -
Clothes - 23/52, last item -
Food - 13/52, last item -0 -
Hi Everyone,
I'm feeling pants but did manage to put the Christmas stuff in the loft today which has cleared my landing.0 -
1. DO NOT PUT OFF TO TOMORROW WHAT CAN/SHOULD BE DONE TODAY
2. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS”
3. LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
4. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
5. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
Tuesday was mainly dry with some sunshine ☀️ I only managed 4 of 8 items on my To Do list - DH took me to Pr*mark for holiday clothes & new bedding, small sm shop in A*di, made cottage pie, wrote my menu plan.

Stellata look after yourself. Make sure the back is better before you do too much
MrsSD I have to keep going as if I have a day without any decluttering I think it will turn into a week or more before I do any more.
61-64 various kitchen utensils. I have new ones but it just took a while to get rid of the old ones.
65 remains of a candle. I have so many and now will light at least one in the majority of evenings.0 -
I did nothing at all yesterday...but in my defence it was a full day at work followed by a 2 hour meeting and I took home 80 exam scripts that need marking  with another 100 to follow next week!! I will definitely do a little something this evening, no matter how small - it's going to be a really busy fortnight but if I lose the momentum now, I'll never get it back.0

Went through one of the kitchen cupboards today. Anything opened that was ood I threw away and things sealed expiry before 2015. Passed some grains and star anise on to the cleaner - it's her first day today and she wentt home with a lot of my junk - erm stuff I won't use. F;):D Filled 2 more charity bags. I have 50 of those magic sponges - why? Probably a 'bargain'. Recycled a bag full of Douwe Egberts coffee jar. I kept them to use for storage but I get through about 1 a fortnight and even I can only use so many. :rotfl:
The TV arrived - it's huge. DH took M-I-L in after lunch once it was all set up. She noticed the box of chocolates I'd left open on the table near her chair, but never noticed that the TV was so much bigger.:D
The washer hasn't arrived yet eventhough they said between 10.04 and 13.04. We're quite hard to find so I'm just hoping that they haven't just given up and gone on.
Do you remember when you went to the doctors and everyone moved up a seat when someone went in? We've a shrub full of blue tits queueing for peanut butter filled coconut haves and as the one at the top goes to the feeder they all move up one.:rotfl:Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright0 -
Happy New Year Everyone
Back in to kick start the year with my first bag of 52. this one is full of books and I have taken it to work. It is good to see so many people getting rid of so much stuff.
Last year I managed to clear 97 bags of stuff despite the stresses I had. I a,so managed to clear my daughter's bedroom and redecorate - turning it into my own craft room. Her room is now the Room of Doom.
The RoD also had a clear out but not fully. this year it will be cleared and redecorated. I want it done for April as family are coming to visit. That is my main target. other targets are to
1: NOT buy anything at the CS unless I can use it immediately and redonate immediately if it isn't right.
2: Not buy any books except reading group ones if i can't get them at the library.
3: As stuff comes into the house - deal with it ASAP
On a positive note I handed in notice to declutter some of my hours at work on Monday. not heard anything yet but it will be OK.:TWife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Thought this post had vanished and found it on the Marie Kondo thread. No idea how that happened!
Checking in for the first time.
1-4: hotel coffee sachets from DH work trip, used up.
5-12: 8 x miscellaneous paper clutter lurking in drawers, recycled.
13-14: 2 x magazines, read and recycled.
15: gift set for a fragrance I don't use, passed to MIL, who does.
16-19: three library books from the school I used to work at, in a carrier bag, passed to friend to return. Good job the librarian is a friend!
20: opened and unused coffee grounds, composted. DH started drinking this, then stopped.
21: exercise book full of child's drawings, recycled. We don't have children... it can only be from a visit in 2018 by a friend and her two-year-old, so why was it in with the appliance manuals?
22-86: 65 out-of-date seed packets, contents dumped in compost, paper recycled, foil envelopes binned. I keep fooling myself that I am 'saving money' by using them up. I am not! I am wasting time, compost and garden space, all of which are more precious, because even if they germinate they are sickly plants. I still have more to do here as I have kept too many that 'could be viable', but will come back to this. They are all freebies from magazines in the first place, so whose money was I saving?:rotfl:
87: 1 x perfume bottle, recycled
Writing it out like this is fascinating. I can see that delayed decision-making is an issue I'm going to have to tackle.
