2020 - banish the clutter

Still working on decluttering the weight so gave away some baking supplies to a friend who bakes with her kids. Most of it was things I only use occasionally but during lockdown I was craving some recipes from childhood so bought ingredients for just one it two cakes! Don’t worry I still have flour and a tiny bit of caster sugar. Glad to have them out of the house though and she is happy to use them.
also decluttered some cheap kitchen utensils that were very tired looking so replaced with a decent brand name.Decluttered some fears too, walked near to the city centre, went in three (Fairly empty) shops and acknowledged I wasn’t ready to go into a supermarket but probably could if I had to. Also checked out he charity shops for any signs about donations. Happy to see my usual charity shop take donations on a Friday and so planning to visit Friday afternoon and finally reduce the pile of donation bags in the bottom of my wardrobe! Will sort through what’s there and donate autumn/winter clothing first (summer stuff takes up less room anyway!)working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?12 -
Thanks Mrs SD
Well done Garden_girl2 - that refund was definitely worth the phone call with the insurers! I would never have thought of that!
Out today is ;
1 'cosmetics bag' - a freebie from a magazine most likely
1 set of bed covers donated as constantly static and too big for duvet
1 NTrust mag - flipped through and recycled the same day it arrived - these kind of things are terrible for hanging around annoying me so they dont get chance to make a 'home' on any of my tables!
1 set of over ear headphones, more than a little bit falling apart!
Lots of usb cables and extra plugs
Hope everyone has had a lovely Sunday! XSimplify and then Simplify some more!12 -
Thanks Mrs. SD,for such a warm welcome back.
36 brand new pair of shoes
37 brand new pair of sparkles no espadrilles!
38 brand new single sheet.
The story is that these were all mistakes which were all just a bit on the small size and I have decided that if it's not comfortable then out it goes. They were all sale items, too, so I have learnt a lesson . 80 Euro shoes reduced to 20 which I think will stretch with wear are just me deluding myself.
39 uu hand cream.
That's it for today.
. All in the car ready to go .I decluttered a lot of dust from the bedroom and put away summer clothes and on my list is the winter wardrobe and I want to clear out bulky stuff. Mrs. AS , you once told me that is an item is in good Nick and if I have the space to store it,even though I may not have worn it in years, then I should keep it. I have my eye on jumpers that need handwashing and take a long time to dry.
Keep safe everyone.11 -
Sorry, Mrs.SD. The AS was my fault , not the tablet, which apart from preferring sparkles to espadrilles, is behaving.

Sunday was overcast but dry & oh so cold 🥶 DH managed to get the 2nd silencer off but had to resort to cutting 😱 The shiny new & noisier silencers are now on the motorbike.I was fairly lazy - harvested another 1.415kg of tomatoes, knitted 1.5 hand warmers, roasted a load of vegetables to make a soup & made dinner.
DH was on steak cooking & gravy making duties & I did the rest - oven chips, roasted tomatoes & mushrooms, fried onions, oven chips & peas. Neighbour to whom I gave half a dozen tomatoes said they were delicious 🙂 & another neighbour MrG (tongue-in-cheek 😛 - I hope 😉) reckoned I should grow 4 times as many tomatoes next year & that he would take delivery on Thursdays 🤣.1768 - 1773 Magazine, 2 newspapers, kitchen recycling, drinks cans, Uu foaming soap dispenser - Recycled

Lovely to see a new face PommeVerte 👋 & welcome aboard the Decluttering Bandwagon.
You have made a brilliant start. As I am the resident nosey vache, I was wondering where in rural France? Hope you enjoyed your Sunday lunch.
Great work villagelife 👏 Definitely nicer to meet up with friends rather than decluttering 😉You are braver than I am newlywed 🙂 Decluttering baking goodies to a friend 😇 Very impressed with you conquering your fears 👏 so much so that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️.
Excellent work Vala-Mal-Doran 👏
It is just so nice to see you retiredinfrance 🙂 A light bulb moment indeed re cs purchases 😉 I really do believe that if you have clothing that fits/almost fits & you love it & have the space you should definitely keep it. In the current climate we need all the nice things possible in our lives & if that is warm snuggly jumpers then so be it 😉
Every little helps EnergyShifter 👏 & being able to move around in a room is a bonus 😉👏BE KIND. STAY SAFE. BREAK THE CHAIN. SAVE LIVES.MrsSD ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🏅1776/2020Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £379.00
