2020 - banish the clutter

I'm sneaking in behind Michelleth - also absent for a while. I've been lurking, but decluttering slowed for a while. I couldn't really see the point of taking stuff that was hidden in cupboards out to be an eyesore in bags because the charity shops weren't open! Then I thought "Don't be idle" and took a load of stuff out. Then I hurt my shoulder so it just sat there anyway! Aaargh! However, it got better, I started bagging stuff and got rid of a fair amount of it. The Mojo has returned from it's long holiday. (I blame Covid-19 - it got stuck at an airport and couldn't get back...I've recently got an allotment! Far sooner than I'd anticipated. A load of stuff buried at the back of my hall cupboard was things I'd held on to "for when I got an allotment", So it's gradually making its way down there. Amongst the pile was a large tin of seeds - now hopelessly OOD. There were a lot. Like over 100 packets! *blush* I've decanted them into a large jar and am going to make them into seed balls for the birds in winter. That way, they at least feed the birds and some may even germinate... erm... afterwards!
Those and the 100 or so modules for raised beds make for a reasonably impressive total on their own.
There's loads of other bits n pieces too - old make up bags, ring binders, dried up screen wipes, old pens. The list goes on. I may get round to listing them, if I get enough spare time and energy, but they add almost 500 items to my total. What a huge amount of stuff I'm living under! I'll potter off and update my signature with the new total. If I can work out how!A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Just a thought for anybody disposing of cotton sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers. In our area more people are making cotton reusable and washable face masks for charity Fund raising because now they are becoming compulsory in more public situations, people won,t want to waste increasing amounts of money on the disposable ones, Worth enquiring around and offering them for this cause?10

Thursday was dry, hot & sunny. Lazy day which I will draw a line under 😞 DH did the usual Thursday shop. Sausages, mash & tinned tomatoes for dinner. Nice aside - our mouse 🐁 ran across the width of the garden (from the safety of the garden box) in order to access the bird food in the ground feeder. DSis & I spent at least 10 minutes watching him feeding & then hiding in the hedge then back to the feeder. It might be a narrow garden but I think we have a very brave mouse 🐭 - there are at least two neighbourhood cats that come into the garden 😱

Just decanted some home grown berries from the fridge into a large and hopefully delicious Summer Pudding, 2 x kit-kats and 2 cups of coffee into the workmen who have arrived to sort out a leak in the roof of our newly done garden room and some rhubarb from the garden into a crumble for Hubs. I've also just decanted some of the crusts from the bread for the summer pudding into me!10
