I have decluttered a ceramic bear cookie jar. Ummed and ahhed about putting it into the cs bag, but I don't love it. Don't think I ever liked it really and only kept it because it was a present from my parents when they went to the USA in the early '80s. Mum is no longer with us and Dad is in his 90's and he probably wouldn't notice/care, so it's going. Also out an empty shampoo bottle ( recycling ) and lots of house dust as I've finally done my cleaningnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8

A garden tidy and some pruning yesterday evening and lots of debris into the green waste recycling bin. Packaging into the actual recycling bin too the only thing we're not using at the moment is the food waste bin as I'm trying hard to use up everything we are able to get hold of rather than let it go to waste. It's resulting in some surprisingly taste meals. I made a batch of ratatouille last night for supper using the home grown courgettes that always seem to accumulate at this point in the season and have enough left to use for lunch today. I got a pack of bacon from the freezer in the week and I'm finding bacon based recipes to make sure I use it all up and to that end I got a bacon cookery book on the internet which is proving to be very useful and making bacon for most main meals not as onerous as it could be. We have the last of a bacon and sweetcorn pie to use today which was nice hot and is nice cold too.9

Mrs S_D thank you for my Gold Star! (Though, technically, it was only 481... But I'm taking it anyway!)THIS WRETCHED SITE STILL WON'T LET ME UPDATE MY SIGNATURE! AAAARGH!! AND THERE ISN'T EVEN A DECENT FUMING EMOJI!Aaaah. I feel better now...Anyway, not too much extra to add to my total. I don't think it's fair counting the individual plants I've been ordering for the lotty, cos I was too late to raise seeds. They're only really clutter if I don't get round to planting them. Pity... Although 4 cardboard boxes and 2 plastic things holding plants and 1 gruesome piece of bubble wrap can go. I'll also include 7 assorted magazines etc shredded for use in the rabbit's cage (thence to compost!) and 9 more bits of old filing - likewise. Which makes a total of ... erm... 23. Ooh! Plus 6 plastic trays and a broken cereal bowl recycled as drip catchers and plant pot drainage respectively. So a nice, round 30.Which - if I could change it - would make my new total 1248. Off to have another try. Maybe I'm just missing something...A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
