I sorted my living room yesterday & today I'm planning on doing my spare room & storage cupboard + wardrobe.
My aim is to give everything a home & stored somewhere. I'm not sure whether we may have to move this year so I want everything ready to just put into boxes & not needed sorted first as I don't have the energy.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. Anyone decluttering the following items - they surprisingly sell pretty well on Fleabay so before sending them to landfill think about selling them on (or donate them to someone else to sell on if you don't use the auction site):
Empty designer perfume bottles
Empty designer after shave bottles
Empty electronics box such as mobile phones/ tablets
Empty designer carrier/paper bags from popular/high end shopsYou're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
Morning,
Hope you don't mind me joining in. I have a plan to declutter over 365 items this year. I have started with clothing and have got rid of 62 items so far this year.
My next plan of attack this week is books. I have a huge collection and really do need to get rid of them. My local tip has a book collection point for any that I can't sell to the sites.
Really need to cut down. I did bin a load of paperwork, but haven't counted that as individual items, just as clutter. I plan on selling a few items later on as well.

I have read through the thread and would love to join you all.
I am going to aim big - 2020 in 2020!!!
I have recently started the marie Kondo method and this was fantastic. Saving space and feeling clearer in my head with the better environment.
I am on a debt clearance mission this year, so decluttering is a way of me heading to clear the debt as well as being more mindful of the things i have and need.

2-3 old items out of the calendar pocket to recycling
4-old dripping from fridge to green bin
5-6 squishy cucumber and small piece of red pepper to compost heap
7 HUGE amount of ice from freezer (somebody left the door ajar:eek:)
...nearly forgot

Over Christmas I gave away a soft Iglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Macca Pacca toys, plus a blue bear to one of my great nieces. DH gave away a toy train to one of her brothers, and yesterday I gave a vegan candle to afriend - who is vegan.
So that's 6/2020 and 2/52 carrier bags to charity shop.
We've also sorted about 30 cds to go. - 45 - just been through them again. They'll go to a charity shop so I expect it'll mean another 2 bags - 4/52.
Also decluttered a chunk of our money - new washing machine - the old one is making really weird noises. And a chunk of Shirley's money - 65 inch tv -:rotfl: she's got macular degeration and can't see much.

I am so chuffed with myself, and it's thanks to you guys for motivating me.
Today's tally:
Two bags of LPs for freegle/charity shop (turntable actually died 15 years ago, I'm ashamed to say.)
3 bags for recycling.
1 bag of books for the chazza.
1 bag of other stuff for the chazza
1 bag of rubbish.
Everything in my sitting room now has a place that isn't the mantelpiece, surface or chair nearest the door.
And my stairs are now totally blocked.
I'm trying really hard not to think about the study of doom, henceforth to be known as SOD. :rotfl:

Decided to start on the books after finding/reading this thread this morning.
48 books have been removed from my shelves (you can't tell at all!). That's three bags ready to be taken to the charity book bank this afternoon. I will have to do it today. If I don't, I will prob go back through them and take some out!September 2017 Debt = £25330
